  1. Look what you did TIF! You got someone to start smoking weed! Congratulations. Number of lives hurt: 1 Keep em coming! The fact that it is illegal should be enough for you not to do it. Just because you think it *should* be legal does not mean you can use it like it is legal. What the law says and what you think are entirely different. Besides, you are better off without it than with it.
  2. For my under-grad Georgia Tech- I can probably get a pretty good scholarship because of Hope and I have pretty good grades UGA- I would prefer GT but ya know (same reasons) Ivy league school- These are hopes. Dunno...maybe for my grad
  3. It is not the religion. It is the followers. I think all religions are "supposed" to be tolerant, but there are those who totally kill the image of the religion.
  4. Well... In religion, there's no 'fictional' or 'factual' point of view. :P But yes, especially the northern european pagan gods seem interesting. I don't know if that many people really believe in them anymore; Possibly a handful of elderly people. I doubt it. But yeah.
  5. I'm not sure what a switch is.. I know I got the belt when I was younger :ohnoes: You know those things they use to roll roti (That Indian bread stuff). Yeah, well I used to get hit with that. It's like a wooden stick.
  6. There's no online translator for stupid. Please explain to me what you just said?
  7. I enjoy learning about Christianity and Islam. Paganism is quite interesting from a fictional point of view.
  8. I have some new arguments I researched today in the media center. I will post them later. Basically, I have to come up with 3 contentions or examples (for each side). Then, I have to come up with a value premise and criterion (I'm not explaining, lol. Too much).
  9. Idiots! Spanking is the best punishment for a kid. Not, "Go to your room young man! Go to your room [that contains a TV, and Xbox 360, a Wii, a computer with DSL, and a fridge with food]. Go to your room!"
  10. It is illegal to go whaling in Oklahoma.
  11. SOLUTION Do what they did in the old days. Send them to good ol' Australia! \
  12. Marriages don't have to be regulated to keep the society thriving. Other cultures don't force people to marry and their societies work fine. That is because marriages in other cultures have different purposes (as stated above). Yes, other cultures do have functioning societies that do not have arranged marriages. However, it is not the only way to do things. Just because something works does not mean it is the only way to do it. It keeps their society thriving.
  13. :P I dont necessairly remember much, but I used to disagree with everyone back then. Ah, it seems so far away now :(. I don't remember much about it, but I think it had something to do with RS. I passed you off as arrogant lol (obviously my opinion has changed). I was pretty foolish too. Wait, 4 years from now I am going to call myself foolish right now.
  14. I Definitely agree, there were more intelligent posters last year. A lot of names come to mind. But in todays OT, no names of spectacular posters really stand out. I disliked the flame wars a whole lot, but I rather sacrifice that than intelligent posters. Viktor whats IMDb? Agreed. Flame wars weren't all that bad. I mean we had a couple big ones, but for the most part, it was okay. I remember when I first joined, I had a huge disagreement with yomom, lol.
  15. Thats a good word for it I thought so too. Yeah, but deep inside I miss the old OT where every other thread was a flame. Yeah, it did get old after a while, but some of those topics were very insightful. You guys notice Ghost and MPC are gone?Yes, I noticed before. I am just pointing it out. :-s
  16. We all know each other, but I could hardly call half of them friends. We are all... acquaintances.
  17. I won't lie. My homework is to come up with two cases. One affirms the resolution and one negates it. I just need to get my thoughts flowing, so I can do proper research when the time comes.
  18. Lmao, good point there. However, I betcha he admires Locke as a philosopher, not a slave trader.
  19. This is what I think. I am looking at it from both sides. Supporting argument: The corporations is one whole. The individuals make up that whole. This does not give them room to dodge morality. Thinking like this has affected America for the worse. The workforce during the IR, slave trades. I think corporations need to have consequences for their actions as if they were individuals. Negate: While corporations should not ignore morality, they should not be the same as individuals. A corporation is its own system that participates in its own world that needs separate rules. I'm torn, and I don't think my arguments are very good.
  20. Rofl, good joke. That is so much bull. How would anyone find it before the event occured?
  21. The actions of corporations ought (implies a moral obligation) to be held to the same moral standards as the actions of individuals. Yes or no. Examples? Post YOUR opinion, please. Do not just look at other posts and copy what they say.
  22. Blood is like a parachute; if it's not there when you need it, chances are you will never need it again. It's good to give blood.
