You make it sound like he's drawn the character with pink hair and green skin... I can only notice the difference between the stomach lines if I look closely. Infact, the puffed out chest almost gives him a somewhat cocky and authoritarian pose. Keep at it nuzza, it's looking great.

As in mining in the skill? And 400k is fairly cheap, go to the media board and you'll see competitions for 1 milliong and more. :)

You could always start a competition on the Media Market forums. I could make you one, I charge 400k (quite cheap), just PM me with your idea for one if you're interested. There are also a few shops around, just browse the Media Market.

I'm guessing you are using Windows? If not I sincerley apologise... Well here's a handy little hint for ya. Graphicsgale is also very good for doing pixel sigs. It's about 3mb and you can download it for free. Just google it.
