Well I'm wondering: what is the best way to kill steel dragons? - without super antifire potions, god sword/armour, or dragonfire shield access (with ring): My relevant stats: att: 86 str: 90 def: 89 hp: 91 range: 88 mage: 83 pray: 72 Options I have in mind: -melee with whip + anti dragonshield (no prot pray?) -melee with broad sword + anti dragonshield (no prot pray?) -range with broad bolts + void -range with black dhide -mage with chaos gauntlets + fire bolt -mage with fire surge I don't mind loosing a bit of money (as long as it's manageable, like 1M) and I have to kill only 75 of them..   2. indeed defender is amazing.. Though I would also set my mind on getting a whip: you're 70 attack and a whip is one of the very best weapons in the game still. I strongly discourage getting an obby cape: rather get first a legends cape, and then work your way up to either a skill cape trimmed or the soul wars cape.
  3. This is what I have wanted for years! Uhm jad is already years old lol! On topic: well this wouldn't make runescape runescape anymore: It would be just the same as a single-player RPG in which you can invite people to do a "lan-type" boss run... Basically something like diablo is/will be.. Runescape is a pure MMO game: and by creating untreadable stuff, you only can get in a "instanced" (non-multi if one desires) area just makes it a single player game? Maybe if you don't like crowds you should try single player RPGs instead?

But instead all potions spiked around Wednesday? - A case of overcorrection? (meaning there comes a bubble someday now).. Or people restocking to go MHing for money?
  5. If you feel the wheel, it only gets input when it "ticks"... unless your mouse is overkill and uses analog input instead of digital. Anything more than one action per tick would be cheating. My mouse has a "button" to remove these "ticks" / "resistance".... So with 1 turn it can actually spin "endlessly"... (alright probably only 10-20 rounds).. In that mode I can say how much of a turn would force an event. Still digital, but considerably higher performance (0.36 degrees is the smallest portion it can notice).
  6. Not a chance. It's near impossible to click nonstop and have that much control/precision over your mouse movements. Less than a second with over 9000 clicks? That's physically impossible. It's a lot easier to do similar to what was shown in the video with mousekeys enabled (one hand hitting 5 on the numpad, and the other just moving the mouse). But with that method, your physically every bit of input. And it takes a few seconds to get through the herbs... This isn't a case of having better hardware. This is literally having hardware do something for you. You can't physically give yourself better frames per second, but you can physically send mouse clicks to the game. And how does hardware alone even do something for you? It needs some kind of software either programming into itself, or the operating system. roller key binding to the left-mouse button? I can change the resistance while rolling, as well as the rate ( number of degrees before giving a new "positive") of my mouse.. Resulting in thousands upon thousands of clicks a second (if I change the rate to 0.36 degrees -the maximum-), I can do a full-wheel turn in like half a second, meaning 2000 "events" a second.. - Probably maybe even 4000-8000..
  7. For the same reason that you say it isn't a macro, I say it is. You say that a macro is remapping keys? lol... EDIT: Quoted from a website "Macro: A series of commands, keyboard or mouse actions that are recorded and performed automatically when a certain key is pressed or a certain command is entered." That's right, even though its one-to-one, it's still a macro. Also, the fact that you've admitted that you're able to "auto-click" and scroll indefinitely makes me highly suspicious of this mouse. If I made "a" click the mouse, "s" move the mouse down 30 pixels, "d" move the mouse right 40 pixels, "f" move the mouse up 240 pixels, and so on until I had enough keys reassigned to bury bones, I would be banned for macroing. EVERYTHING DONE WITH THIS MOUSE IS DONE IN SOFTWARE, NOT IN HARDWARE. When you change the mouse, you don't flip DIP switches or solder on a new capacitor. Uhm, you've got to understand how a computer works before deciding what is macroing and what is not.. Any action is "virtual": meaning there has no object assigned to it -in windows-.. Now once you click a button on a mouse, windows has a certain action binded to that input. Now who are you to say that the actions binded to my input should be the same as yours? - For all you know I'm running my own subOS which rebinds all those actions! So remapping keys is, and can't ever be considered cheating..

  9. Yeah.. and how many people were playing runescape and had the stats to hunt bosses back then? No, the question is, did we have summoning and godswords back then? Following that argumentations we would have an exploding function in needs for bosses: better weapons mean faster /easier boss kills -> we "need" another boss since rest of the bosses are crowded/easy -> new weapon which is better than previous best has to come into the game -> back to 1.. In the current scheme it holds at the third point: and since there simply is a maximum number of kills/hour for each boss, interest will dwindle and people will go back to the lesser bosses too. We need a boss that you need non-combat skills to access. Like Commander Zilyana who needs 70 agility for. Not like Graardor who needs 70 strength, which I guess 300k people have! It would be kind of fair to make it so that Soul wars products, can't get to the boss too easily. Like a quest for it that needs high stats. And not like Summer's end which needs stats you can achieve in a week... tormented demons?

  11. you kids get it already too easy with high-valued bosses.. There are many of those.. I still remember when the KBD / KQ / CE were the only few bosses one could hunt! Now we have KBD / KQ / DK / TD / 4 * GWD / CB / CE, 10 bosses, more than 3 times as many as previously. - And you complain about RS having too few bosses? Really fighting each other over a boss kill has always been one of the good parts of runescape.. It helps forcing teams and hence creates groups of friends! Something I did find wierd is why most of the worlds aren't lootshare?

    Well I plan to train hunter for my remaining hours (only player 3 hours now) - However what would be a good spot at low-level hunter 70-75? Something which is less likely to get crowded as the red chinchompas..
  13. Well to have it neatly covered into firefox would require an add-on, doesn't tip.it's add on have it already? To update the batchfile a bit: ping world#.runescape.com -n COUNT pause replacing # with the world number and COUNT with amount of ping-messages.. However pinging runescape (if you keep the default ping-size to 32 bytes) won't really give any stress to their servers.. The messages are negligible to the amount used by runescape game.. If you log in you'll probably directly send more than 1000 times the amount of 1 ping package..

No, he's saying that Jagex should, for starters, re-write the rule so that using mouse drivers is NOT a violation of the rule. There may be a small population that technically still violates the rule by building their own hardware, but that's no different than it is now. Basically, his suggestion would reduce the amount of innocent "rulebreakers." It is: A rule which is ambiguous you as customer may always explain IN YOUR FAVOUR.. If a rule was made which isn't ambiguous it would be clear.. Me and my friends are thinking of setting up a small business which will create high-specialized input system for games (given runescape isn't close to our target userbase, but since I like to play runescape it would be nice if I could promote my own stuff there).

  16. The key word is "automatically" - not "software". Not so. The mouse software does in face move the cursor "automatically". The mouse software responds to the user actions of a mechanical device, and converts that to inputs that generate events. These events are interpreted by the Java client. This software does in fact respond "automatically". Therefore rule 3, as worded, bans mouse software -- ANY mouse software. Yes obviously that is not the intent BUT that is what it says. Also I do not agree that this should have been merged into this thread, since the scope of my post goes far beyond this particular mouse device. Here is the fundamental problem IMO. There is an assumption that the user directly interacts with the Runescape client. But that is absolutely incorrect. The Runescape client, written in Java, responds to events. The events are generated by the mouse software installed as an executable -- not by the user. The mouse software executable responds to alerts generated by "firmware" in the mouse. (The "firmware" is in fact also software but it is "fixed" in the mouse circuits.) And the "firmware" responds to the mechanical actions of the mouse -- which responds to actions of the user. So the sequence is: User==>mouse mechanical==>firmware==>operating system==>mouse software==>Runescape client. The point should be clear though -- the problem with rule 3 is that it acts "as if" the sequence is user==>Runescape client. That is, from a high level, the way most users see it. But from an accurate perspective (which impacts legal aspects) it is completely wrong. And again, the issue is being driven because Jagex is treating some actions (melee, ranging, combat spelling, fishing, cooking, woodcutting, furnace smelting, etc.) as multiple actions from one mouse click, and others (fire making, inventory emptying, spelling on inventory items, etc.) are requiring one click per action. But because rule 3 is poorly stated we end up with situations like this. I suggest the easiest solution is to simply take those few actions that are inefficient (empty inventory on the ground for example) to all offer "multiple item" or just be handled like combat -- multiple actions for one click. And yes zillions of users will whine "it was hard for me it should be hard for them". I still say the analogy is stick shift versus automatic transmission -- the whiners are like old grandfathers who say "I had to use a stick shift for ever so YOU SHOULD ALSO!". Then rework rule 3 so that it is clear that it bans software OTHER THAN "commercial" or "open source" software designed to respond to mechanical input devices. That way macro "bot" programs will clearly be banned -- but no physical input device software will be banned. And yes -- this will mean that if the physical device software can more efficiently execute "clicks" it will be not be a rule violation. Big deal. I use a laptop -- without doubt the slowest and most difficult "mouse" to use (since it isn't even a mouse). Uhm wait: that is a huge slap in the face to people like me who build their own hardware. - Now we could just make it, since rule 3 wasn't clear and their was no clausule what happens when the rule isn't clear.. If that happens me and my friends could never build our own hardware without sharing either the source or licensing it officially...

You can take as long as you want. I mean: that would force people to contain 10-15 bank spots for this statue..

But that is my list! :P Steels Kalphites Hellhounds Black Deamons (in that order) Lol black demons are amazing charms :P + you can block 5 now.. Anyways back on topic: as said they are reaaally weak, only have huge hitpoints: thus a lot of slayer/combat experience from killing them. Mining is indeed nice: you'll get some decent-fast-profitable mining experience along the way. (1 or 2 hit them most of the time at 73 mining with a d pickaxe)

  24. Why would Jagex refer to a paradigm that most of its player base wouldn't understand? Exactly, I have no idea what Pulli said. But what I take From the J Mod's post is that because it takes one click to clean a herb, a person much make one click to clean every herb. I don't care about your black boxes and paradigms. All I see is using a program to convert one input to 28 outputs. You're talking like an ignorant, whining baby now lol..*EW I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT, but I'm too lazy to read up anything and will just make fun of it so I look more cool* First of all like I said: there is no conversion done! - Your mouse also gives multiple outputs! - However the driver of your mouse simply smooths these clicks out to a single "press - hold - release" events for windows. Now that specific mouse (button) apparantly won't smooth out the actions and give the event multiple times. (so what). - If anything this should be considered a BUG, and it could be classified as bug abuse (I tried to explain it the whole time that such problems should be handled by the APPLET) Those paradigms are there for a reason you know, the same reason as there are 100+ languages for different purposes. Using the correct language and programming paradigm helps ironing out bugs, improves readability of your code, creates a smaller "plastered" code which in turn increases maintainability. And especially the black-box paradigm, if followed correctly, always ensures any update only has effect on itself (and directly affected other things). Meaning easier implementations of big new parts (since each part can be considered a black box on its own: thus its internal failure won't cause a failure somewhere else). And actually carefully planning out all black-boxes before starting to write a program will prevent things like this.
