@ILoveyews: read my post: in programming paradigm used for JAVA language (and most OO languages for that matter) black-boxes are the driving force. In this case the human player + mouse device are both non-controlled, and hence should be seen as 1 black box.. The program thus should only give input to that black box (screen), and expect some output (mouse clicks). Now how they are given does not matter, and should not matter (otherwise you're defeating the paradigm and you should consider either using a new language or reschooling yourself so you can take advantage of the language and its features completely): it's still multiple input the program receives. It's up to the program itself to disable this (by creating a max number of inputs / second for example.. Or to slow down the actual cleaning of herbs)
-
Uhm nope: the mouse is an external device, and hence should be considered as a black-box with only an (unexistant) input & output.. How the mouse works can never be something to take into consideration: if your program depends on that you should slam the responsible programmer on his head since he clearly didn't understand some basics paradigms (which are especially used in the JAVA programming language, JAVA is KNOWN for this paradigm). So given that: the program simply gets multiple mouse-input events, now it's up to the program to handle them correctly.... But fact is: the program receives multiple inputs!

I have around 3k charms stored in my bank + countless supplies (way too many, but it's not too easy to guess which level I achieve).. I either get around 82 or -if I am lucky- 83 charms After that I plan to do a quick farming round (hope to get 67-70 farming then). Then I also do some minor herblore experience (getting 65-67 herblore if I'm lucky) And finally (xp-modifier will be dropped to 1,5 then) I hope to do either some firemaking or hunting (they're the skills I dislike most).. not sure which one to train yet.

AH, I notice we're at runescape again! :D Great arguments everywhere!

You obviously didn't read my comment then. I said it makes gaming too easy. There's a difference between progress and straight up being handed levels. It's kind of like the difference between a Godsword and a Giga Godsword that does 5x more damage. Sure, it's progress, but at what price to the gaming experience? Uhm, I don't think the game should revolve around "click levels" - clicking with the mouse shouldn't be the thing that determines the difficulty in a skill, other factors (unique to each skill) should be the main difficulty drives behind the difficulty in the game. Are you also complaining about the cook-x, fletch-x, do-x options? Or well, the double xp weekend? Those things are basically the same!

hmm could've been it sold an infinite stock at some point in time? It did but since the shops update last year there's no more infinite stocks. Your best bet would be using the bones to bananas spell like bladewing suggested. I guess so, thanks now I know how that field showed up in my chart.. Anyways you know a rough guess bout how many bones you can turn into bananas hourly?
-
So somebody is clever enough to explore the possibilities of your computer/os? And you call that "cheating"...... With such an attitude progress wouldn't exist at all lol. I would rather learn from him and start adjust your system too. (just like I bought a touch screen some years ago since it helps too, +it's easy when sketching designs)

actually i hate to correct you but Green is the worst charm because its med xp: high cost, where as gold charms are med xp: to low cost Med xp high cost minimal xp low cost green>gold [/hide]Depends when: untill lvl 65 golds are better than green for training (hence the ideal way -if gathering charms in an "even" matter during slayer- to use ONLY golds untill 65, and then use golds + greens until 74, after that you should almost have enough crimson + blue for 99) good to know. Lol while that would be the "ideal" way: I wouldn't recommend doing this: in my first point I highlighted some "important" levels, and something like 69 is worth spending all your charms as it simply helps you so much!

Well a looong time ago I made sheet for summoning (made it like 2 weeks after the release of summoning batch 2). It uses a macro to update it's prices from the ge etc, however it now gives me as a result (when calculating the double xp-weekend) that I best start of with "fruit bats": however to do so I would have to buy bananas.. The sheet tells me the seconds are best bought for 5 gp from catherby: however I don't remember which shop anymore.... Which shop in catherby has/had an unlimited supply of those? (if I have to buy for 102 gp from ge-max, it's better to use first use golds to lobsters, than lobsters to forge regents).

uhm where to start. lol I would say: do all/most quests (especially the harder ones have some amazing rewards lately). Hunting is something you should either like or dislike: it's probably the best money-making skill nowadays though. (after 85) - However you could live *almost* completely without it. Summoning on the other hand is very tied together with other skills: I would certainly open it and start collecting the charms, it's main use is as a supporting skill in combat, however it also has lots of other skills it can support. Import marks are 56 (spirit terrobird - extra inventory), 67 (war tortoise - even more inventory), 69 (bunyip, slayers best friend - slow continuous healing), 79 (titans - healing + defense boost + decent supportive combat), 85 (pony - lots of healing), and the high-level summons. Another "new" skill you will notice is slayer: since 2005 it's been completely redone, and I doubt you'll even recognize it nowadays: however jagex has given it a lot of priority, so it's a very profitable skill. Also a new mechanism you'll need to get used to are the "diaries": basically "annoying little quests", however their rewards are pretty high. My favourites: -Karamja diary 3 (the gloves): the teleport to shilo village is amazing for 50-75 slayer -Seers diary 3 (the enhanced excalibur): yes this previously useless weapon is now something I always take with me: the special not only gives a huge boost to defense but also restores health for 200 points.. Falador & lumbridge diaries are usefull if you would like to farm a lot (they both influence the farming patch south of falador in a positive way). Varrock diaries allow you to earn some quick (~150k) money each day buy buying battle staves Ardougne has a nice cloak with prayer bonus (though it's useless now with the newest quest) Fremenick..... Well nothing really amazing, just some nice small boni. Some pitfall you should try to avoid: don't immediately buy new weaponry: whip+defender+barrow armour is still the best all-round outfit.. Godswords, blessed spirit shields, dragonfire shields, bandos etc are all specialist stuff you should only get once you "settle in". Hope this information can help you understand the game a bit better!

No RuneScape utilities iPhone/iPod touch app?
pulli23 replied to atronic92's topic in General Discussion
problem is that wow is written in C++. Runescape is written in JAVA.. the apple TOS do not allow for any program to run OTHER code (effectively killing the entire open source community and keeping everything dependent on the apple store).. However this also means, no java, no firefox, no thunderbird, no...... anything. runescape runs on java its written in runescript which is a close releation to c++ Uhm read the last sentence: apple does not allow any program to run OTHER code.. Meaning, in effect, things like "runescript" are forbidden: and also JAVA interpreters/compilers are -by definition- forbidden! I know very well what C/C++/JAVA are (been programming in those languages for years now), but the problem is not that it is impossible or "hard": but simply that it isn't allowed other than through exceptions.. -

Uhm even if it is calculated using integers rounding happens in the GPU: int i(10),j(3),x(i/j); would make x 3.. - Now multiplieing the base number by 10: int i(10),j(3),x; x = (i*10) / j; //x = 33 For talking it doesn't matter if the number is rounded down because of the typecasting or rounded down using a function. Fact is that the numbers are truncated. PS: those who say that you can only hit more if strength would be "x-levels higher": that's wrong! Yes the MAX hit could only increase at certain points: thanks to the truncating.. But the average hit did increase (and effectively the likeness to hit the max-number), rounding is only done at the END of the calculation. To understand this we have to consider how the function RAND() works: quick guide As you can see the random function returns any possible number in the interval [0,1) or [0000 0000 0000 0000, 000f ffff ffff ffff]. This value would be multiplied by a certain number, which is a function from your strength level. ACTUALHIT = randomval * hitfunction(STRENGTH); hitfunction typically (in games such as runescape) is the function that returns your max hit (or actually "an infinite small number above the max hit") - Typically (from experience with lots of other games) a function such as this will NOT round on its own (because that might introduce rounding errors - and it's not a cpu-expensive operation). Now asume strength does increase your max hit by "0,99" each level, and at some point you would hit "15". Now your roll the dice for randomval, and it returns "0,9": this would mean your actual hit is: truncated(0,9 * 15) = 13 next level your max hit is something like "15,99" or "159,9"... Now if the again you roll the dice for a value of "0,9": 0,9 * 15,99 = 14,391 -> 14. And as you can see even though the strength did not increase your MAX hit, it did increase your overal/average hit.

wrong, steam and smoke runes are both over 45k xp p/h ZMI is very, very slow at lower levels: up to lv 60, and just after 65 normal runecrafting methods are faster than ZMI. Heck even natures through the abbys is around 20-25K xp/h..
-
I agree. The point wasn't the whole 'beginners don't like being hit for 1' thing, that's a side effect, it was to break the bond between your Hitpoints and your Hitpoints skill level, allowing boosters to your max hp instead of your actual hp. I think we'll find that this update will get a lot more support once we start to see these Constitution boosters. Hence I think it would've been a more clever move to combine such things: now it's mostly that people don't see the point (many people seem to be unable to think futher ahead than). ANd hence label it as useless (or even "bad").. If they showed a use of the update (by ie adding a few constitution boosting potions) it would've gained much more support!
-
I really support this: By doing this they can add "constitution boosting gear (or pots etc)" Meaning your constitution level would show: 110/99.. Thus MAX hitpoints would be increased by 110 points. This is a perfect way to increase the max hitpoints cap and thus is very efficient in the way of combating the real problem of high hits. Also it shows a much bigger diversity in hits, which is kind of fun :P.
-
Well I can see the rs main page is updated, with updates like the constitution skill.. However in game it isn't, am I missing something?
-
Is high Alching + Fletching still good? 3 skills.
pulli23 replied to darcsoul88's topic in Help and Advice
And even that pales into comparisation to monster hunting nowadays.. But with high runecrafting you know that you will ALWAYS make profit, and you won't have to adapt your play style with every large update.. -
I'm really wondering wether I should spent my time on (after doing a farming run + 2/3 hours of summoning) either firemaking or hunting lol... Both are insanely boring, and I would just like to level them both to "required" levels for future quests.. (75 fm, 72 hunt)

How do you think Jagex charges credit cards? This. And your IP adress. IP adresses are only a direction to your ISP, (though if needed ISP's are forced by the european goverment to store this information for 2 months.. And who ever uses credit cards these days?

Best thing to do with my time during Bonus Exp Weekend??
