uhm still wondering: is there any (un)official world for this skill? - It is starting to annoy me that I only find at most 5-6 other players at the same spot..
-
I've never encountered a frost dragon before, and I've been through each frozen floor quite a lot of times... I just hope iron dragons don't appear. And protect from magic works? Oh that's good. That means I don't need an anti-dragon shield, right? I met 2 iron dragons once.. But they are much weaker compared to their surfaced counter parts.. Prot from magic + anti poison works "almost'.. As does shield + prot from magic.. Only protection from magic still yields hits in the 200-300 region.

lol at that graph.. You do know that alexa is typically something US-people have? I don't know a single person who has some alexa software installed on their computer! Those rates probably say more about the amount of people who have alexa installed than the player base

Well, you *should* be skipping stuff. It all depends on what you're skipping and why. You need to explore the entire dungeon. You *don't* need to mine every rock, fish every spot and hunt every mastyx. And you shouldn't, if XP is what you're after. Just like in any skill, really. So you'd need to explain in more detail what you're doing for us to understand why it's taking you so long. Even beating compulsory monsters takes like 20-30 mins... Really less than 15 minutes seems you have very much luck!

Good try, but I think they were asking about rooms that we've ALREADY ENTERED and might have missed something important in. #-o As for rushing, you should at least kill everything in every room to be sure. Why killing everything?
-
lol that makes rushing a very good option!

There's no point of course in discussing each other's preferences (and styles that flow out of these things). However 15 minute for small floors means I could do 3 floors while you do 1. Meaning I would get 300% exp, you get 116% xp.. Thus while maximizing profits & xp (sadly there is only 1 "reward" for doing dungeons, and thus only 1 style will be "best" in all cases) small dungeons would be best.. (and in those cases I don't need gatestones, I never ever tele back and forth).. But of course with dungeoneering you'll haveto play the style you like most, playing for experience/rewards very, very boring.

-Also take into account the typing, buying runes and clicking through the menus (and if you're with a full team, if someone opens a new door, all the menus are turned off). This makes it for me highly unlikely to do it under a minute or 2-3.. Considering on average a dungeon takes about 10-15 mins to complete: 1 minute is a 10% of the dungeon time, heck best is to simply gather enough food for the boss, open all rooms and then don't kill anything except boss..

I believe a melee weapon + platebody + best arrows.. IF I ever need a secondary attack option (prayer switching 1 comes into mind), I can easily buy just 1 log and swap to that weapon, even the corpse-bow is enough. You will only use the 2nd style if that style is extremely powerful against that boss/monster anyways. - Thus making the accuracy less needed.

Damn you, I've been trying to get that staff forever. It's just not working out... Magic isn't so helpful for small dungeons, but in larger dungeons, particularly with big groups, I've found it invaluable. Making the runes isn't a big deal - you're going to make a significant amount of runes anyways for Gatestone spells and possibly High Alchemy, Cure Me, and Cure Group. As long as you have 65 RC and use magic conservatively, simply binding 125 Blood Runes should last you. The easiest way to get these runes, I've found, is simply playing Complexity 1 with a bunch of friends that have high magic levels. Have them give you the runes, bind them, then leave. Magic is much, much faster at killing high level Forgotten Warriors and Brutes. I've already got a Primal Maul binded, I'd like to make my second bind a Celestial Catalytic Staff but I just can't find it. :( Also, gear isn't an issue. Just clearing a medium / large dungeon usually results in several pieces of Spiritbloom, Ecto, and Soulbell from the Forgotten Mages. You can purchase additional Soulbell / Ectograss to finish up your set after (if you don't have boatloads of cash by the end of the dungeon, you're probably doing something wrong.) Still you have to make them: slowing you down a lot.. Meleeing with a prome platebody bounded almost nothing can hit me!

What kind of stuff you find ENTIRELY depends on the average level of your dungeoneering party: -If you have high combat levels, you get high level monsters -if you have lots of mining lvls, you get many rocks (and especially rocks around your mining level) -if you have lots of wc lvls, you get many trees (and especially high level) -if you have lots of farming levels, you get a lot of pickable plants. -if you have lots of hunting levels you get a lot of those -matix monsters -if you have lots of fishing levels you get a lot of (high level) fishing spots. So if you like to mage, you better make sure you have high farming levels.. Also notice that having high combat is actually BAD, best would be to have either even stats (for soloing), or being a skiller.

I always go to make half full potions..

mage pots don't boost your damage in the dungeon (or at least not as much as they should). I had my 30% boost staff + super magic pot and didn't hit anything out of the ordinary I think you're right. I just finished a floor with a friend. We both fire surged ourselves through the floors (which went insanely fast) and I was wielding an empowered fire staff and had drank a strong magic potion, yet I didn't hit over 358. I'm guessing the damage boosts are capped at 25-30% combined or something. A question to everyone: in most screenshots being posted so I only see that everyone is meleeing in the dungeon. But why? Magic is extremely accurate there if you're casting fire surge and it's a lot faster than meleeing everything. Although some of the bosses have an insane magic defence, such as Stomp. Easy answer: Melee is most easy to get: I can bind all I ever need for dungeons (pro plate + gorg spear). And now I never have to bother picking up anything else than food anymore. - Only at very hard bosses I go make stuff. With magic you at least need to make extra runes (bind 125 combat runes + get 1 type of runes from staff). Which slows you down considerably. - Another point is that with melee I can rush through the dungeon: not worrying about being hit, yet with mage armour I can't rush past thrower trolls and the like...- Slowing you down a lot. Range is also difficult to use, not because you can't bind stuff (you can bind a bow + body), but because of the stupidity of the average scaper.. Everybody seems too dumb to place traps to catch the -matix monsters..

Tuna & lobster are already gained en masse by doing mtk: so I doubt they change a lot. Lobster price might drop though!
-
Oh come on, you don't want those high end items too easy to get. I would say just mess around with the level requirements a bit and everything is fine. I thought the reduction is fair enough for the items to look reasonably enough to obtain. BUt it still means experience in the skill is useless: and using rewards from quests for experience is simply a waste!

When finding a good 4 man team? - About 8-10 hours? Duoing? - About 15 Soloing? - About 15-20 Bad/average/random teams? 30+
-
You've got to finish floor 17 before you can access floor 18.. (and yes this makes at low levels almost no sense: you'll get much faster levels than you can compete floors) For this skill, your skill level should just be ignored completely!
-
Been playing with 2 friends who are maxed out from the start: consequently had 200k+ each round, and we all 3 had either full promo (or in my case full gorg) - on small maps. Really the amount of resources depend on the average mining/smith/etc level from the people your dungeoneering with!
-
lol uneconomical alchemist really got to be hard to get.. (Other than on purpose)

This is true. But I would change one thing. ALWAYS do EVERY room you can before you reset. If you reset at 30 out of 35, you are gonna be doing another 30 floors with only 30 prestige instead of 35 prestige. It is a HUGE difference if you dont get all your prestige saves in. Yeah you are right, just calculated this myself: Now the experience might not scale linear with the floor your on, this would make the calculation slightly more difficult (too difficult to show without better forum software). - However it can be proven that in any case where the growth in experience is constant or higher, it is better to do all rooms before resetting. (Thus keeping prestige maximized) When the growth is smaller than constant (so the difference in experience between F34 & F35 is smaller than F1 & F2) the calculation should be made again (once we know the actual formula).
-
Your friend is right: thus always make sure you do ALL rooms (or at least most) before you reset!
-
I don't think there is one. At least I didn't find it on the list weapons on the KB. If there then any of the bosses can drop it. I like my primal rapier. If I can get a a golden precision bracelet then I would be all set to 100. Isn't that kind of weird: you're only lv 50, and upto 120 you won't get anything really "new"..
-
Hmm maybe re-make the old "f2p general discussion" board again? Was closed because of inactivity..
-
sure is, KB says so, and I can confirm my magic summon DID damage it.. (while wielding katagon pickaxes my adept stormbringer had it down to 3/4th health while we took down the shield.. So it seems extremely weak)
-
Also, if you craft runes, and have a full inventory they drop on the ground (actually like normally would) - except those are seen as "normal runes", meaning they disappear after some time, and the other person can't see them!
