  1. wait so that's 250K extra xp at most? Wow not really worth the while (have been doing 2 10 rounds and only at 1/3rd)
  2. if you are f2p mtk doesn't update at all...
  3. uhm the horn simply doubles the xp you get - I'm wondering for how long you get that.. But you really have to wield that thing? - only at end of the game (or start, or the whole game)
  4. Well I'm doing barbarian assault (Ilike the minigame), and collecting the "xp rewards".. But I'm wondering: do I need to wield the horn to get the rewards? - do I even have to have the horn in my inventory? ALso if the horn is full, how much agility xp would i get with it?
  5. Well I'm wondering: is the chance on a boost/lower of your stats equal? - Or does dave's stew on average more often increase your stats?

    bolts

well they are 50% more expensive from what I remember when last playing..

    bolts

Hey I'm wondering: what is these days considered the best arrow-type weaponry for things like slayer tasks?
  8. The problems that I have with the fight caves, and thus this requirement is that it requires a bad playing style: You are required to play for a long time after each other.. While for the arbo it's bad, and people shouldn't stay attentioned to a screen for more than 30 mins straight.. Given that problem I'm finding myself in, as well as the fact that time is limited for those older players who also have lots other obligations it is impossible to beat the fight caves in 1 go: heck even jad alone takes too long for me to beat in 1 go.. That is also the main reason I chose slayer over boss hunting, slayer allows you to beat the "task" in small bits!

    slayer

I will, once I have the money (I've been away for 6-8 months, and my account seemed to be hacked in between, now I'm left with a bank full of junk: 15k watermelon seeds for example ><)

    slayer

Well I plan to do a bit of slayer again.. I am lv 118, only wielding basic equipment (whip, barrow-defense, defender, glory) and 10m spare.. My slayer lvl is 80 So I am wondering: what is the best slayer master to use nowadays? duracell or the kuradall. - I'm especially interested into the profits!
  11. I've done countless of nature runs already: yet 3k an hour has never ever been achievable for me, whether I used graahks, 4-pouch-graahks, abbys, fairy rings, selling+buying back to tai bwo wannai.... Really when I measure over long times (1-2 hours) I get at most 2.5k crafted an hour. I'd like to see a video or some other proof that it's done. (Sure at times you will get 3k an hour, but it's impossible to sustain that speed even if you could nullify the human behaviour).
  12. That's the bare bottom indeed: it's like saying " I don't care what happens to the world around me, as long as I'm living good". I DO care: I invest time into runescape so that in the future I can have more fun, yet if this future is dull, and unclear you won't see me playing this game in any form like I did previously.. And I find it pretty ignorant to keep saying: "without the updates there wouldn't be a runescape anymore": Give me some black-on-white argumentation: Would the credit card companies really put an end to the jagex companie? - Does jagex depend so much on these credit cards, how much of their userbase -apart from the bots- would they lose if credit card wasn't a payment option anymore (shouldn't then be something done about this, so that they depend less on profit hungry other organizations? - actually runescape is the ONLY company where credit cards were allowed, and with online banking growing more and more iDeal etc should replace this).. - And was this the best update they could in the time period given? Never ever have I seen any of these questions answered with some prove. - While it's indeed not compulsory to give this kind of information (it might help other gaming companies) I will keep questioning all updates, and I will keep saying: "there ought to be something better". - Prove me there isn't Ow and on the topic of "what you do in runescape": You clearly never "made your own game": the fun thing were creating your own minigames, and the CREATING of those, organizing it THAT made the fun for me, the actual playing isn't half as fun as organizing an event! (Which is true in real life as well as in gaming life). Now we're limited to things jagex has organized, effectively reducing the unique factor runescape had. Sure I will keep on playing runescape: it's not a bad game (actually I still like it). However if I were a new player and I had to choose a game, I doubt I would start playing runescape: what makes runescape best? It's becoming more and more like "1 of the many". - And this will be the biggest loss to runescape: few new players will arive.. - I think you can see this already in runescape, I hardly ever see somebody these days with sub-50 stats, and as an effect the raw material price will rise!
  13. You clearly don't see the point in the big drop party.. But for me it was just a goal: I'm not sure why, but I really, really liked to help people (either in monetary ways or with helping them solving quests etc) in runescape. This drop party -held to my friends- would be this utlimate goal, maybe I liked this for the gratitude, maybe I liked it for the honour gained, maybe for some other reason: but who are you to say I can't like it? - The party room really removes this personal touch, and it's absolutely no substitude to any real party.. (Oh how I mis walking from square to square following the "droppers", or dropping the items you got during a clan-event to the rest of the clan every sunday. And even the by-passers were great: they always showed appreciation, and were pleasantly surprised.. With this system you have "professional" drop party searchers: people who actually make their main profit from drop parties. - Really this -viewing it as dropper- is really wrong. Or how I miss to give a friend who sadly lost his rune armour during a pk trip a new armour set (yes that was big money) a new set of armour so we could continue pking (and how I miss gaining it). Now to my likings: well I should say "I dislike grinding" - previously I did anything for my ultimate goal: everything I did was ment so I could help others futher (as you can see my stats are just as high to finish all quests & rc 91 so I could earn money).. Now I miss this drive: there's no great goal for me anymore, personal achievements are worth nothing if you can't share them. Also of course what I had in mind wouldn't be a simple drop party: it would be a full day of events I had in mind for my fellow clanmates (Things like hide and seek, clue-hunting, king of the hill in wilderness maze, tour de gielnor etc), all spiced up with rewards for the winner! - These user-build events were the most fun things, yet without rewards they feel like swimming on dry land. As you can see I don't like monster hunting, skilling or such unpersonal things: I like to do things where you "get to know" the other better, the social element of mmo's I've fallen in love with. Now as for the wilderness: I'm not sure what it is: but since a long time already I've gained less and less interest into this - easy to blame the "guaranteed drop" removal (the old wilderness loot system), but in my opinion actually godsword were the biggest blow (literary)... Hitting 40+ in my opinion isn't fun at all, it all comes too much down to luck for me..
  14. Funny how you counter my argument about saying: "You should draw the most negative conclusions when a company doesn't give his reasons" with: "You should not" Great way to argument, should I say now "no"? - WHY can't we jump to conclusions? - I think by doing so, we force JAGEX (the company) to "always" (as long as possible) reveal their intentions: so they can shut up the naysayers. - Without these critics, Jagex (the company) may (and will) become lax and will slowly give less and less insight to their actions (Why should they, nobody questions it anyways if they just say "it's good")?
  15. Some whiny pkers quit? I wouldn't use the word whiny, most of those who quit were oldschool pkers who had enough. The rest sucked it up and tried to bear with it. And there was a profit from this, they stopped their real life credit card issues - this was the main reason they acted upon this. Yes, it paied off, for THEM. It has not improved gameplay, you are obviously too lonely to notice just how much this game has turned into a single player MMO. We barely need to interact with players for trades, and we cant give freebies to our friends. Since the change to the wild, most of the clans from the top 10 ( if not all ), quit. Clans are a huge community based part of the game, the changes to the game wiped a lot of that out. Please, before you post, understand in comparison to the old days, this is a step in a negative direction. Luckily with community based sites such as Tip it, Runescape is still a game worth playing and we are strong enough to make do with such decisions, just as we have done since the evil update which was Pest Control. The fact that I can't give away "freebies" to my friends had not changed my playstyle a bit. Sure, before the Anti-RWT update I used to give a boost or two to a couple of friends, but it never was GOAL for me, I never saw it as something that would otherwise ruin my game, and it hasn't. As for the trading- A. People still trade WITHOUT using the Grand Exchange in millions, everyday. B. Even if that wasn't true, who cares? This game still is multi-player, I still play or even race my friends, I still play multi-player mini-games and I still get asked every other minute how the hell do I make money. The Grand Exchange's only flaw (well, not only, the major one) is merchant clans who manipulate prices and scam other players. Other than that, the Grand Exchange made things way nicer, atleast to me. Buy there are many, many people who DID like to give help in some way or another to friends.. I for one lost my complete goal in playng runescape (and since then I hardly play 2 hours a week, only to quickly check the new updates).. Before my goal was to create a mega house, and make so much money so I could give a 24-hour-during drop party myself.. (Set that goal the spring before the killing-updates happened). Now I honestly don't know what to do: what "great" goal can there be? - I dislike like skilling or gaining levels, and having money isn't fun if you can't share it with anybody you want... So the only thing that keeps me going are my old friends over IRC that keep talking me back into the new updates etc..
  16. And here you hit the nail on its head: The biggest problem is that we don't know jagex' hidden agenda! - We know their ultimate goal is to make money by offering us a great spare time(and for the members between us: we appreciate &support that) However For the rest the players are too often let in the dark: and this creates arguments! You should always give your opinion too the best of your knowlenge: so if jagex doesn't tell us what they're actually planning, and why they are actually doing the update (and how they think it will turn out good) it's in our right, no our duty to be critical and find flaws. - It the job of the "changer" to explain why the change is needed, and why THAT change is best. See above Again see above: there is no worse than NOT ranting when your not been given 100% explanation about the intentions!
  17. Do you realize some people fight various monsters in full rune and have the chances of getting things like a draconic visage which is worth way more than 5 mil?.....Does that still not make any sense to you? And please don't try and tell me its completely different because its not, in either case you need an extreme amount of luck to get either drop. A 5 mil drop doesn't happen often, I have had way over 500 kills with only one 5 mil statue, so please stop talking out of your [wagon]. Let's check what we're talking about: runeplatebody: 69k rune scimitar: 33k rune plateskirt: 40k glory: 51k rune fullhelm: 21k ------------------- total: 147k We're talking about even less than that! - So these people will have at MOST lobsters to heal, and prayer potions will be out of their reach. When they would go fighting against dragons (deliberately left out the shield spot), I doubt they could manage to kill 1 iron dragon a trip... Nope, but the chance is about 4-5 times as high as a draconic visage, I've personally killed way over 750 combined steel/irons - and countless blacks/kbds (total will be around 1k): never to have seen a visage -at least at those monsters being capable of killing in full rune-. - And they take much longer to get killed when wielding a rune scimitar than another player takes to get killed (wielding full rune/75k limitted armour). On top of that pvp has a few more 1M+ drops, like I said, iron dragons DON'T have these. Really taking 76k to dragons and expecting to win isn't possible, so that would make your argument pretty void! And hence my argument still stands: for those who 76k is a lot of money, and the max they are willing to risk, shouldn't expect to get 5M, 300k - 500k is a nice amount they should be capable of getting Really risking 1.25M isn't hard in P2P these days! AND for the last time: pking should never be profitable in the long term, THAT makes it unbalanced.. - It used to revolve around "A looses something, then B wins something, but never more than A looses". - By making pking profitable jagex forgot 1 thing: it means very afast wealth can get into the game: simply because a player can be killed very fast, there's no limiting factor in this! Also it's always open for abuse, and will always be abused!
  18. Problem with rushers is: they get near your base before when you have gathered like 3-4 clay only (and thus spent everything on the best tool, and maybe 1 piece of weapon)
  19. hmm I tried freezing: but that just lowers the score you get: and he'll get you eventually (especially in 5 v 5 teams)... same for defensive play (I could run, but that means my team mates are vulnerable, and you can't get that 1 c4/c5 clay point that's in the game, so you'll loose eventually). So far the only tactic seems to pile such a person every time he comes back, yet is this can't be the best fighting tactic in runescape can it?
  20. wow, how nice >.> Heck with this tactic even a lvl 3 can annoy a high lvl until he quits..
  21. Well I'm wondering: is there any tactic against a lvl 138 rusher who just gets 1 lv 4 dagger and then storms your base? - He keeps protecting his item, and even smite doesn't seem to do the trick! - And since he's stronger there's no possiblity to gain an advantage (he just dies and rushes back in 3-4 seconds)..
  22. Umm, the TC is coming up with solutions to stop 76k/26k, and we are providing our own as well. We all hate 76k/26k trick, and we know we can't do anything about it, but it's still worth discussing. My solution (as mentioned above) is to increase the risking amount. 760k/260k seems like a good amount, but 7600k/2600k seems viable too. Tell me how to risk 260k in F2P without carrying coins or such in your inventory. And 2600k in F2P? Very few F2P's even have that much money, and if they do, they are not risking it in PvP. 760k/7600k in members is not too good either. Many low lever PK'ers use cheap equipment (rune armour, dragon daggers and longswords etc), which certainly isn't worth 760k. 7600k is WAY too much. Most players can't afford that expensive equipment, and even if they did, they wouldn't use it in PvP because of the high risk of losing it. And what about players who simply can't use that expensive equipment because of their levels? You need pretty high stats to wear that expensive equipment (unless you use things like trimmed armor, rares or fury amulet...). Most PK'ers under level 100 would be gone with a 7600k limit, and everyone in F2P with a 2600k limit. again: what's the problem of not getting the maximum drop chance?????- WHY SHOULD YOU GET 5M possibly when only risking full rune??? - makes absolutely no sense to me
  23. That makes it next to impossible for lower levels who definately can't afford that. Not everybody has a few mil to throw away to pk! Hey like I said: even if you don't risk MAX you still get a chance on a good drop: it's just lower.. THAT'S EXACTLY LIKE IT WAS PREVIOUSLY: AND HOW IT SHOULD BE! - Previously you had to risk a few mil to get a few mil.. It was "higher risk", better chance for better rewards. Nowadays the amount you risk hardly matters!
  24. I would say: the maximum amount a person can drop (in statuettes) is limitted to the quadruble (4 times) the value a person is carrying.. But then also make the general chance for statuettes more likely.. (So on average the same amount the person is carrying is dropped in loot). This would completely ruin 75king: they would get at most 300k (and on average the 75k they actually risked). Also it will give a lot of the old-wildernes back (the old wildernes never used to be a "money maker" - it was actually a wealth sink -more items lost than won-), and it will give an even higher reward for killing dificult (those risking a lot, and having expensive armour) targets. For the lower levels (among whom 75k is the max they can afford), apparantly 300k is a lot for them: so they'll be more than happy to get this amount of money. - Also this is more like the old wilderness used to be: if you caried low-class armour you had no chance of killing somebody with very high level armour, so you could never earn suddenly 5+M if you only wielded full rune! So all in all I believe limiting the max-statuette to the amount risked would solve the 76k trick!
  25. You shouldn't call it "content": but instead a "feature".. What I mean is: well testing of features like this would only be good, it will get more people involved and it gives a nice feeling to see what jagex is actually doing.. However for CONTENT updates: updates that increase/change the actual game content I doubt this is a good method: what if there are serious bugs (like dupes)? - I think the problems are too important to let players do testing with content..
