  1. Well you can stand in the safe spot and then let your cannon attack the hounds. - My ranged lv is 86 btw..
  2. Well I've gotten a terrible slayer-task-list now, and I'm down to 95 slayers points again (just not enough to ban it).. And I have a hell hound task now.. My question would be: -is it effective to cannon them, and if it is - is it recommended to drink range potions during it?
  3. The only good way to solve it, is -I think- by making secondaries much more easily gettable. Either as a noted drop from some -slayer- monsters (boss-monster/camp-moster fighters normally don't pick up anything with little value). Another thing is by making the 2nd also available by farming (or something like that)
  4. yes, since it's illegal to law to make such a thing illegal to rules. (Making any document, unless stated otherwise, non-binding).
  5. lmfao, no one gets falsely banned because of people reporting them as a macroer anymore... that hasn't happened since back in 04. they can tell the difference between someone actually macroing and someone just not responding. Anyone telling you they are innocent is just trying to avoid the embarrassment that goes with being a caught autoer. And no, not all bots get banned... only the truly blatant ones get perm banned. hell, I macroed one of my friends pures to from 80-94 magic without even taking very many breaks to reduce suspicion and you can clearly look up "illlinois" he's still not banned, and i macroed his magic about a year and a half ago. I just did.. And I'm still completely left in the dark WHY I was banned (it says macroing, but I haven't done anything like that). - And this was already the 2nd ban with like only a week in between..... Seriously: what am I doing wrong? WOW, they act like I'm stupid or something stupid.. - Literary, asking for any evidence results (even for 2nd time apeal) in this message. - What kind of ruler are they! Really I just asked "what am I doing wrong, how come I'm banned for macroing, I have still no idea what you're talking about.".. And I'm again greeted by this: this is below honourable, it's downright stupid to treat customers like this. (This will probably be the last time jagex gets money from me, the game is amazingly fun but treating me like filth)
  6. Exactly, cigarettes, alcohol, coke, meth, crack, heroin. The list of things more important than game "addiction" goes on and on. Well... those things are more addicting because they're legitimately fun while you're on them. And runescape isn't? (You should probably stop playing rs if you answer yes to that question). besides cigarettes is much worse than most other things: it not only destroys the users body, but anyone near them!
  7. It is possible to "safe-spot-cannon" mutated bloodveld though, so you could prevent the pot-use there. (However I strongly doubt you will cover the cost for cannonballs either).
  8. Have you ever been on IRC even? Doesn't sound like it. Same could be said from like 99.9% of the swiftkit/swiftirc users - most of them haven't been to a real IRC network. (which respects the very first rule that IRC should be free).. Most of them don't even understand their own pc and how it connects with the network. - So for those IRC won't be a real advantage... Now the other thing I like to mention is that it DOES matter if swiftkit would (or would not) be allowed. Not for those who use it, but because we should always strive to get at the internet as much freedom as possible!
  9. You should "in runescape" to that. And to say you the truth, I'm still very much wondering how these people get the money to burn on skills.. The money has to come from somewhere...... It's probably just the effect of the enormous amounts of money flowing through the runescape community. (Combined with the fact that people seem not to matter about tiny amounts, making the prices go to either a point of being very profitable to very much a money sink).
  10. Well it could also include piscatoris fishing colony/hunter (eagles). I'm more excited about a posible ardougne diary.. For me diaries always feel like stuff 'doing standard chores for people from the big cities' - I can't really see some "standard" chores to be done for gnomes - they aren't humans :P.
  11. I've done them quite a few times at the main chamber (kill the saradomin warriors)..fighting them only if they attack a zamorack werewolf/gorak.. I found it quite more relaxing than fighting them directly in the fortresses.. I wielded an unholy book as zamorak item, and the saradomin cape as sara item.. Rest my standard slayer gear (fighter top, guthans bottom, slayer helm, whip, dragon boots, row).. Ow also don't forget to take high alchemy runes, almost every other drop is alchable (lots of mithril/addy stuff, the occasional rune item is nice too). Turned out to be my best profitable task (also in profit/hour).
  12. wtf when? He probably mistaken it for something. It only fights when attacked, and NPC's don't attack familiars. ONLY IN PVP. Well iv seen a pic of a unicorn fighting a monster in wilderness. That is easily possible: between summon batch 1, and batch 2 ALL summons could fight.. (and the unicorn was actually a much higher lvl than it is now). Strange how many people seem to forget things that happen like 1.5 years ago already.
  13. Yeah...if only Swiftkit was governed by Dutch law...from the looks of a quick WHOIS, it looks like Strider's based out in Australia. AFAIK, there's no law like that in Australia. Anyway, it's absolutely possible to detect what people are using to visit a site. So don't go around saying that it's not detectable, because that's just flat-out wrong. It's detectable if the user wants it to be detectable.. The user agent is just something a browser sends to help the server.. But if you want you could "easily" (at least in firefox, ie doesn't support this) set the user agent to something else. The very first thing you learn when doing a course for game design is: "the player is evil, always asume the player is evil and uses a modified client which looks exactly the same as the official client". - Meaning that every important calculation should be done on the server (which in fact is the case for RS).. But anyways if I would use swiftkit I would still be govermented by the dutch/european law (actually I believe it was an implicit derive from the constitution about freedom.) - Also I doubt Australia doesn't have a law to protect customers freedom, searching the FSF should give a conclusive result. (The free software foundation keeps a blacklist of goverments that don't support the freedom of software choice for their citizens).
  14. ROFL it's funny how everyone believes jagex could -or is even allowed- to enforce such a rule.. Now before anyone starts yelling about their so called "terms of use". Notice 1 thing: terms of service CAN NEVER OVERRIDE A LAW! - So if a law (explicitely or implicitely) states that you can do A, a ToS can never ever say that you can't do it. Now the dutch (and from what I remember it's a part of the european) law states that a "service should not depend on certain programs" - there've been a case to the court where microsoft was limiting firefox users in their updating progress (the service) because firefox didn't use activeX. Something similar happens: jagex can't limit the "service" (runescape) to their customers because they use a certain "3rd party" software package. That they have done so in the past doesn't say that it's according to the law they do it: if you would go to the court they wouldn't even need to make a case from it, the answer is clear already. (though the refund is zero, and the price for going to a court is high - many companies know this, so they know they are safe from it).
  15. BOOORING.. What's the POINT of gathering those stuff then?- I wouldn't play an MMO game if it wasn't centered about the community/sharing stuff.
  16. Something like Underground pass? - It's my favourite quest still :P. (I love how you get supplies during the quest, and don't need to restock EVER).
  17. Well the whole question then becomes: "by whom?" - It completely depends on WHO decides it..
  18. Uhm those problems of such "addictions" are really over exaggerated these days.. It seems like everybody needs to have kind of disease/problem nowadays. Anyways, if you're really addicted to something only 1 thing helps: JUST A FULL STOP! - "Limitation" etc are only moves which focus more on your weak point, not being able to control yourself. Only thing that really helps is if you say: "And from now on I'll never play it anymore". - If you say: "I'll play only 1 hour a day", it soon becomes: "I play only a bit, when I know I have time", then "I play so that I can still to do other things", and that evolves to: "wow I've got to quit school/my job I really have to beat the game" - And you're back to where you started. Really only thing that helps is a FULL STOP, since that's the only thing that can't be breached.
  19. [hide=story]Well the captain just went on a "test mission" with the newly sub.. Then at some point all comunication was lost. 1 guy returned/was captured by the KGB and he explains that there's some higher boss in charge of the ship now (turns out to be sea slug). In the end the KGB recaptures the ship. - that's about all there is to it[/hide]
  20. The red Axe isn't tied into this. The dwarves in this quest fractured off from the Red Axe, meaning they weren't a part of it anymore. The Red Axe plays no part in the penguin series. Also the connection with the sea slug is very, very loose, actually in the end the connection seems to be going to be "undone" by the KGB.. (altough a twist can still be there where the slugs actual start controlling the penguins, it would make the story very far-stretched).
  21. Nice quest, bit easy though [hide=personal attempt at a rough guide]Well this is a small guide for "the hunt for red raktuber" Rewards: - Not sure what the improved points mean, but 25 points @ lv 90 (rc) gave me 56750 xp now.. items needed "penguin suit" (or steel bar/silk/plank to make your own new suit) 1 thread needle 8 silk 4 planks suggested: dramen/lunar staff to get to ice berg watchtower teleport guide [Hide] -Well first of all start the quest by talking to larry: he got himself into problems. - No one ever seems to believe he's right and he got dressed in a straitjacket. Poor larry. Investigate his claims in witchaven: indeed he's right, there are huge marks there (near the south-coast). Investigate those and report back to larry Items next part: Penguin suit, 8 silk, 4 planks, thread, needle, watchtower teleport Then travel to ice berg to do some futher investigation! Go to the first room on the west: there you have your first practical examn "investigation science". When the victim (who seems to have some strange new hair style) finally talks NOTE VERY CAREFULLY THE DANCE HE DESCRIBES there are 3 pieces in this dance you have to perform near the end of the quest: note them all. Reporting back to larry he sends you back for more info: time to ask your musician friends if they heard some strange things lately. They tell a new thing is planned by the uncool dudes: who are in the war room. To get into the war room you need to get the guard a sleep: asking him what he likes should give you some hints (note also these). Finish making the song with the musicians and off you go, to the war room. There it is revealed (after you take of your disguise): the dwarves are making a submarine for the penguins: being as greedy as dwarves' nature is: they only want to help you if you help them escape.. By making extra clockworks. Back to larry for consult: he says he can't use his magic over distance, and besides can only handle 1 person at the same time.. However he suggests that mega suits might help the dwarves. Back to the dwarves with your 8 silk, 4 planks and they explain how to redirect the submarine: you first have to test it on the control unit there (it's a very easy task).. Another time reporting to larry he suggests for location you might talk to your mafia friend noodle: asking him, and agreeing you'll be in debt of the mafia (uh oh..) he gives you another of those handy passes.. Now it's time to solve the "box-puzle" on the east of the base: - It basically is the same as the sorcerer garden: avoid being seen. The picture shows the route I walked (as far as I could see the only good route): First go to the north wall, then follow the north wall to the east, go south 1 block, and 1 block east.. Then south till you reach a room you can enter (south-east room, door at the west). Red is the line to follow. (There's also a line in the minimap) Green are the "safespots" - next to a spot that CAN be seen, the yellow lines are the part that require attention: they show the distance you have to walk inside a "visible area". After reading the telegram head back to the interrogation room, and loot the desk there. Then return to larry once again. - Reading the telegram he quickly decided to intercept the sub and heads for yanille. Arriving there, blow the conch shell and perform the special dance you noted at start of the quest! Ever wished to experience platform-runescape? - Now's your chance! - Head to top-right corner and report to the captain. He quickly discovers you're not here with intentions to help him, but instead you're here to spy.. Even trying to lie would do no good.. He sends you to the "jail" and takes your toolbox away from you. - Upon being thrown in jail you finally understand it: the whole ship is being controlled by slugs! OW NO! To the left there's some "hat pile", gather a few of these fishies and head back to the engine (which is just to the right). Now use the fish to do your stuff: -crab to open, shark tooth to cut wires -eel to reconnect -sea**** to insulate -pufferfish to build pressure -octopus to use valve -swordfish as lever Now back to the shore you notice this isn't yanille anymore.. Also there's some other unpleasant discovery: larry has been captured by the KGB. And to make matters worse, you acted as a puppet for the KGB the whole time, even the dwarves played their role well. They're a group from the red army dwarves, and also want to beat the humans! After a short talk larry is taken away and you're left to rot on that island. A small discovery can be done though: even you have unknown friends.. On that tropical island is a polar bear in disguise: apparantly the penguins aren't the only 1 with their secret organization, the polar bears are counterspying the penguins to save the world. He helps you getting back to ardounge zoo, and quest complete: PS, did I mention the newest hair style already? - Coup ala Davy Jones it's called: [/hide] Have fun with the quest, it's an easy 1 to do![/hide]
  22. Bunyip would be next to useless: bunyip doesn't provide defense against KO's: the only thing it does is help you running out of supplies less quickly. As said supplies aren't your biggest problem there. However fighting familairs would be really usefull: being able to shorten a trip leats to less chance for mistakes (actually if a trip could go for around 45 mins even my connection could handle such a lag-free time on good days). That being said: I wonder how much damage the titans actually would do..
  23. It is next to impossible for those -like me- who have a very laggy internet connection (wireless, steady at "no signal" at best times)..
  24. Uhm I can verify that at 65 pray you still get 1 extra point.. From the linked post it's been said that 76 is the first lv to get 2 points
  25. Lets say you buy 1k Whips. Would that effect it? Since the demand is always rising? Once again, you can only buy 100 whips every 4 hours, and since everyone else isnt always buying/selling at max you cant crash the whole market by yourself (You need a clan for that :wall: ). Also, the demand may always be rising but the supply isnt being massivly outpaced either. I never said i didnt have a clan, OR had the people to buy more than 100 each 4th hour. -.- Well then yes, a clan of people all buying 1k whips at max price at the same time would make the price go up. If you're wondering if there is more to it there is: its all about the small elite of the clan manipulating those they recruit into the clan. They start the price manipulation by buying at max and then convince the others to start buying the item. Then they dump all the items they bought, driving the price even higher and creating artificial demand. Then, when they have none left to sell and no one is interested in buying an overly-inflated item, the majority of the clan is left with tons of high value items with no one to sell to. That is how to manipulate supply and demand to make a profit and in a sense how to run a merch clan. But for the love of god, if you're asking how to do that, please dont :wall: , it will save all of us a painful experience... I'm wondering: how long could this stay this way untill all those people foolish enough to fall for the trick have lost their money....
