I wonder how many hours it would be: but if it's like (at the moment of writing) more than 11 hours and 10 mins I'm really, really sad......... So much for some total luck (finally had a ghoul champion challenge).. Losing that is probably more annoying than those people who lost 1-2M! (I would gladly pay 10-20m for this challenge).

Edgeville is elvish? That's new for me lol.... Only minorlink from the old times is that it could be used as one of the beacons in the north from zaros' forces (which is explained in the quest from the camulet).. However i believe he mentions the ruins in wilderness with these towns..

25th February 2009-Random Event Update and More
pulli23 replied to psvstef's topic in General Discussion
Got the new sandwich lady already! Wooot for a new song :P (she also has a donut (shaped) new item in stock). Her random-reward gave me some more options: pure essence, and xp lamp where the options. (there were 2 more options, but forgot to take a screeny). The xp lamp "summoned" a genie-random, and it was exactly the same xp as I would've gotten from a genie.. I also noticed that my money gain raised by "1" after that random (no other raise though)! - But this could this could also be thanks to my total level increase (1 at that time), however I've raised another 3 levels and the money didn't raise. -

Sigh, freezing is useless in pvp worlds: only really stupid players take no teleports.. So without teleblock you can't really pvp! -
[hide=Dark_Aura] true, however from a business standpoint it would be a bad move. It would be like selling a ferrari to a 16 year old who just got their drivers license, and then saying you cant have the keys until you've driven 5 other cars for 2 years a piece to get the required experience to use the ferrari. it would just piss people off, they're paying for content, and they get mad when the content is "locked" to them. yes is just whiny kids, but those whiny kids give a good chunk of money to Jagex, and they dont want to piss all over their customers. Uhm that would only piss-off the quitters! - Real people who are determined, and have actually a spirit to GO for something would see this as an incentive to even drive better, just to show they deserve a ferrari![/hide] So you want lower levels without the skills, already grinding to get the requirements for WGS to grind EVEN MORE? The game was based on Fun, not Grinding levels to prove your better then the rest, sadly thats what its coming to these days. Quest Wise, you'll screw over half the owners of a Quest Cape if theres a Quest aimed at 120+, half the capes missing, your going to need a damn fireproof jacket in any forum. Uhm why would it be MORE grinding? - It exactly the same as what the current high levels had to grind... What I fail to see is: why WOULD a lower level need an update MORE than a higher level (I already explained a reason why a higher level update would be more beneficial)... What's a reason to give everyone an update immediatelly???

Did you skip my/all other posts?

Answer:no 1 bonus everyone seems to forget: 1 kg! So it's the ultimate lighweight (runecraft) shield! greatly worth the time! + as said it's a good shield if you're ranging/maging! (though mostly I use the zammy book instead)

Uhm that would only piss-off the quitters! - Real people who are determined, and have actually a spirit to GO for something would see this as an incentive to even drive better, just to show they deserve a ferrari! If you just gave that ferrari it would certainly be fun: for a year, then it gets old already, and you would want a new car! - Now if you had to earn your ferrari it's much more fun - ALWAYS! The ferrari wouldn't just be a fast red car, it would also have a history, looking at it would make you think "whew it was a long journey, but in the end: well worth it!". - This means you would never throw away your ferrari: and keep using it till the motor is so rusty it falls apart! That's the feeling I had once with runescape... Now it seems like it's less and less that: all "fun" stuff is getting "open for everybody". - Sure it's fun: for a short term.. But actually an achievement is much more fun! - Yet only a certificate (which capes are, fire cape is much better) isn't really something: an acheivement should be something better, something so you've an advantage over others who didn't go through the whole journey yet! A quest is a great achievement: if it's written well it's something that stays in your mind. - And you can say afterwards "getting the levels was tiresome, but the story/puzzles made up for the boring skilling"/slaying. (yes I see both as utterly boring, quests are about the only fun thing in RPG's).

The Reasons Behind Melee Overpower~Indepth~
pulli23 replied to Owned_Nex's topic in General Discussion
Care to explain? Really, youtube channels give the wrong impression: you should also see the amount of "failures", for each succesfull kill about 5-6 people got away.. -Ancients can't teleblock, so ancients is next to useless. (who is so stupid not to bring a teleport with him is beyond my insanity). -Normal magics don't have high hitters, nor do the bind spells often hit: meaning distance gets quickly reduced to 0! -lunar is waaay to expensive/hard to do spellbook swap every time! -Like I said: no ko ability (other than slow/fast hits, which max at around 50 damage at once), combined with a heavy price tag for "runners' makes it very, very hard to be actually profitable as magician! And I'm not even talking about PvM: other than barrows/rex magic is worthless (yes worthless, not only pricy, but also worse than melee/magic). It really surprised me that no GWD boss was weak against magic (according to slayer master demons are weak against magic: well I've yet to see that weakness at kril). -
Should I bother with 55 Steel Dragons...and how??
pulli23 replied to Junkieman's topic in Help and Advice
I'm ranging them always in full void.. with an anti fire pot/anti firebreadth shield you won't get hit AT ALL (as long as you keep distance to the dragon).... I use 1 dose / 2.5 dragons.. But seeing as your ranged level is a lot lower, I bet you would need 1 dose / 2 dragons: take 8 anti firebreadth (4) pots to be safe :). Also I think black dhide is best for you (r crossbow, blackdhide, glory/fury, snakeskinn boots / archer helmet and shoot either broad or addy bolts)... Will take some time, but you can always pray for amazing drops (my best is a dragon skirt though). -
uhm why would you do that? - of course curse / vengeance etc works.. Other spells won't help your team, so why do you even THINK about using them?
-
Larder uses a hammer? - I though I heard they specifically didn't...?
-
Actually no: even graardor I fight with a defender over the shield! - At high level accuracy becomes more and more a problem, and then the attack bonusses from the defender become really noticable!
-
Well I was already as far as that  : but does anybody know a list of items that use an hammer? - I like to plan everything in advance and not be surprised... THe constructiontable, nor the planner tell me about what tools are needed for what item!
-
My setup differs a bit from task to task but anyways: neitiznot (or slayer helm) - 50K fury - 2.7M qp cape - 100k whip - 1.5M runedefender (obby shield if you want to buy it, runedefender is clearly superior though) - 300k guthans body (sometimes also fighter torso in easy tasks) - 300k guthans legs - 200k barrow gloves - 100k dragon boots - 300k ring of wealth - 50k total: 5.60M! (maybe even less if you use a rune defender) I use guthans instead of dharocks/torags since the defense difference between guthans/torags is neglible. Especially when your next aim should be full guthans or (if you have 68+ summoning) a verac skirt (though that's a so-called "specialist piece": only buy that once you have enough money so you don't see 600K as a lot of money). some supstitutes worth considering (in order from a good subsitute to "this should be only a last resort"). -first of all: glory instead of fury (glory has some nice teleport function, and is a lot cheaper). -rune kite shield instead of obby (though shouldn't be done if you plan to use rune defender anyways) -d plate skirt instead of guthans skirt. -rune boots instead of dragon boots.. -if that's not enough: klank/cooking/rune gloves instead of barrows.
-
hello, I understand that not every construction item uses the hammer.. But does anybody knows which item(s) do? - And preferably something not from the dungeons ><.. Also what's the lowest level item that uses a hammer?

"treat others how you want to be treated" - Well that's exactly what I do: I'm actually happy if someone tries to spot steal... It's called "friendly competition", and it really does sharpen the mind, keeps you motivated ("I want to beat that guy"). We're not playing hug-scape, some direct competition is something this game greatly needs with skilling! And about honour: Well I rather have a honourable fight and loose than be afraid and run away like a dog with its tail between the legs.... Of course if there's another spot available I'll move there, but world hopping: no I won't do that! (Mostly also because I hate loading, and worlds take about 1-2 minutes to load at my pc).
-
Nope, I did it without dragonshield easily: if you mage pray and stand on a distance the dragonfire attack won't hurt you!
-
sorry, my mind got twisted in some way... Let's just blame Freud for saying what's on my mind. (the fact that I believe there shouldn't be such a thing as "semi rares", things only achievable with a large amount of luck). Coinshare doesn't widen the gap between the rich and poor any more than it would be widened normally. I had more to say, but I can't remember it for the life of me. -.-
-
lol you now just noticed it? I (and many others) said this already with the start of coinshare. It does happen indeed, and it increases the difference between rich and poor greatly as time passes on.. (coinshare makes it possible to get an overpriced price right after the new bosses come out!) - It won't give a problem as long as there keeps being more and better bosses: so the new comers have some place where they can beat the oldies.. However if no new bosses are release the prices will undoubtly fall, making old boss-hunters, who already "cashed" have an enormous wealth.. While new boss-hunters have to do two (or like 4-5) times as much effort to make the same wealth! However on the other hand: jagex is making the game more and more money-independent! Making it so that actually training skill doesn't cost (nor give) money, minigames is one of these things. So does it ruin the economy? - No.. Does it have a negative effect on runescape? - yes I think so!
-
The player capicity is (as explained) "infinite": it can be 1000 v 1000! However the reason why some people are left out is because the lobbies don't have to be filled equal (which they have to be in CW): ie 100 people can join red while only 10 people join blue! In that case out of the 100 reds 10 people are randomly chosen! - Leaving out 90 possible participants! What they should do is that you either you can't choose teams (instead teams are randomly generated), or that you can choose teams but the stats aren't allowed to be spread apart too much. (like only 20%)...
-
Really that help from crush attacks is greatly over rated! - When I went to waterfiends for a few rounds I indeed saw that crush was the better option, but when leaving my zammy spear on slash (instead of crush) I didn't notice too much of a difference: generally I killed them a bit more slowly: but nothing too much to worry about (about 1.25 times as slowly, so 80% as few times hit)! - This let me to believe that a whip is better than a mace/dbaxe/obbymace/dwarhammer... Especially at higher attack levels (I'm currently only 83) the difference between teh styles gets less and less (in "infinite" level you would have 0 misses, and all styles would be equally good).. So for somebody maxed in melee the best (payable) combo would be arcane shield, karils, whip. Topped off with an unicorn (or maybe an geyser/iron titan?) + whip, praying range. But I still believe the single-combat waterfiends are clearly superior to these ATM!
-
Maybe they're there just so we don't get out of difficult training areas too easily: with the always increasing strenght of equipment the normal training spots we know nowadays become waaay too easy in the future: and then such a spot as these waterfiends will prove a better spot! Take for example the divine spirit shield (or even the arcane): if you wield that one the waterfiends might be really easy (though you lack a crush weapon)! - Now if 2-3 more items of this quality are released, that training spot might be a better/faster alternative to the barbarian whirlpool... These waterfiends are just a "planning ahead" thing I believe! Now the question is: WHEN do they become an alternative, and especially when for the mob? - taking 85 summon/sgs/zammy spear as "maximum", they certainly can't be beaten now... But wasn't this the case with mithril dragons too?
-
Because competition makes it fun? Really I think you're way to naive, but what's the fun of hopping a world? - When I play rs I can be online for 10-15 mins AT MOST! - If I have to hop worlds I waste like half my online time, and I'm not looking for some boring clicking: I want to be better, use my mind to recognize the correct pattern of clicking, THINK about what I"m doing!
