like a lot of other dedicated f2p'ers, i was excited to hear about the new security stronghold update, complete with new armor and a new weapon. So right away, i got the new boots, then i got the skull sceptre a day later. For a while, i carried it to show it off since is the f2p equivalent of the fire cape in a way :P (plzzzz dont flame me!!). Soon, people started coming up to me and asking me how i got it/what it is. no big deal....yet. I try to explain it to them. They want me to sell mine. I explain that it isnt tradible. they dont believe me. THEY DONT LEAVE ME ALONE. I also explain to the low-lvls that no one under level 40 will get it (i DARE you to prove me wrong). and they also dont believe me. I tried to help them at first, but a man only has so much patience :wall: :wall:. when i direct them toward other sources (runescape.com, other players in the stronghold of security). they still wont leave me alone. And this update is bringing out the n00b in everyone. the low level players are bad, but it doesnt stop there. I swear i had a few lvl 70s come up to me (i'm lvl 60) and pester me about this for a while. Because of this, i have decided to let the sceptre sit in my bank for a while. i guess the world (of runescape) isnt ready for it yet....

20k!!!??? i'm lucky to get 5k off of them. Nice merching :^o

I've actually been doing this for a while. It's the only use for gold rings as far as i know, but i prefer using saph rings. I just decided to post it now. Maybe my first post was a little vague, which would explain the misunderstandings. I may go back and edit it to make it sound a little more eloquent - not in the mood now :roll:

why don't you just make a diamond amulet and enchant it or have one of your friends enchant it and then sell it? too bad you missed the entire point of this topic! i'm not trying to find a way to make good money. i'm just saying that since the ring spot is never used in f2p, you can just hold a ring there so when u need some FAST cash and arent near a bank, or your inventory is full, just sell the ring.

Thank you. Someone gets it. I wasn't asking for a flame war. Its just a TIP and i dont think i ever saw anyone else do it. Plus i craft my own rings anyway :roll:

:idea: And I'm passing the knowlege on! Just equip any ring, and whenever you need some cash right away, sell it to the store. this saves a spot in your inventory AND its really useful for when you arent near a bank and need money. A gold ring is fine for small items like hammers and chisels, but i prefer saphire rings since they're pretty cheap and provide enough money for more expensive items like ores and logs. :idea: edit: i re-worded this post to better get my point across (no more flaming please! :shame: )

i have a few questions. Runescape says in the knowledge base repetedly that it is not safe to run the game from any other site but i think there are exceptions. 1)Miniclip.com: this is the big one. in fact, i actually started my first account through that site and didn't even know that runescape.com existed! Once i found it, i stopped using miniclip. In a poll on the official rs site from last year, it mentioned that miniclip is their affiliate. Is miniclip safe? 2) some people told me about Swift Switch, and runescapecommunity.com. Is this safe and does it break the rules? and what exactly is it? 3)are any other safe and legal sites that run runescape?

many people just do fire strike from lvl 13-99 or curse to lvl 55 and then high alch or the fastest xp there is: teleports (very expensive!!!) and i'm not sure about this but, i think crumble undead has reduced xp. need to verify that.

only recomended if you have 2 mil gp or more to WASTE on magic. faster xp though :lol:

i thought newts sold for more like 50 ea. oh well. anyway, dont underestimate logs as something to merch. Varrok and fallador general stores are usually full of them and are close to a bank and you can make like a 300% profit on the logs if you can get enough. Or you could cut them. That's pretty fast too... :-s

this method definately works, but can get boring fast. i recomend using curse on the zammy monk in varrok castle, since he has high magic defense and actually recovers from curse in about 3 seconds. Dont completely forget about using firestrike though. It gives you hp xp in addition to magic xp and has a convenient autocast feature with a staff! Also, you kill monsters this way, so you can get the drops. Cursing is faster xp though.

good reasons to quit runescape :? : you think it may be affecting your health (addiction) you're bored you found a better game (like W.O.W.?) you get banned for scamming (we dont want you here anyway :twisted: ) you finally realized that this isn't a great game bad reasons to quit runescape:wall: : people make fun of you (shame on you for giving in to peer pressure!) your parents won't let you (there's ways around this and you can just take a hiatus) you can't afford members you get hacked/ lose your money/ lose a phat (you can get money back if you try)

if you are training a pure and dont want to pick up arrows, dont worry about monster drops or high levels. remember, you get xp for each damage point you inflict, so pick something with LOW defense. Low level monsters are fine until your max hit is higher than their total xp. i think pure ess should be obtainible on f2p, just require a higher (perhaps lvl 27 for cosmics) runecrafting lvl in addition to the mining requirement. I dont think macroing programs would bother raising two skills for it. the whole reason macroers mined ess in the old days was that it is the easiest moneymaker for low levels. on a sidenote, there is 1 group that benefits from the pure ess... F2p runecrafters who buy their ess and keep the runes for personal use. Myself included, but a limited group nonetheless... :roll:

fine, but i still like the idea of a higher-than-rune ore that isnt for smithing.

i think body runes should replace NATURES in this spell, but it should take 30 bodies to cast bind when it only took 2 nats.

if you have members items, can you high alch them on a free server? Lets say your membership runs out with valuble items and a full bank.

i think my point is that there should be an incentive to craft bloods or soul runes. if they could be crafted with normal pure ess, the price of bloods/souls would go down fast. and no one would bother because it would not be good money for crafting.

you can only get air 8x... and yes its way to mutch... actually you get 10x airs at lvl 99... it just doesnt say that on tip.it check the manual on runescape since when? i dont remember i saw it on another topic. i think that members get a message at lvl 77 and 80 something saying that they can craft bloods or soul runes. plus i heard that theres a blood rift in the abyss.

world 16 is the OFFICIAL world for air running and the fastest rc'ing xp for f2p.(see the tip.it times article a few weeks ago) and bodies DO have a use: curse is a cheap, moderately way to gain mage xp. just wear metal armor and other magic att reducing equip and curse low lvl monsters. you get the same xp for failing, but you can cast again if it doesnt hit.

even if you can only hit 9 people at once, for ice barrage, that is still 52(base xp)+ 30(max hit)*2(magic xp per hit)*9(opponents)= 592 max exp per hit plus 360 hp xp :shock: ! Thats pretty good if you asked me :-k .
