  1. I agree with the previous points made concerning Wilderness fights and prior warning before autologging. But in my opinion, you really should not be playing this game for six hours straight. It's not good for your health. I've never even managed to get six-hour-logged, and I play way more often than I should.
  2. Or maybe just discontinue them, so we could have legitimate “rare black lobsters”. :P
  3. You never know what people might donate to you when you host a gilded altar. Like full Saradomin, for example.
  4. I'm posting this screenshot a bit late, but I managed to find a Pumpkin during the last 30 minutes they were being dropped! (I was planning on getting one for keeps, one to give to a friend, and one to sell, but that'd be too much effort lol) :P Also, just now, I found a Green Halloween Mask! It's not red like I hoped (would've went great with my outfits), but I'm not complaining, nor am I done hunting yet.
  5. It took around 30 world hops, but I finally found one! This other guy and I both hopped from the same world to another world at the same time. He went to check the top floor of the stairs house in Rimmington and I went to check the house portal. Luckily for me, it was at the portal, and the other guy missed it by a few seconds. Needless to say, he was not amused. :P (thanks to Pingouin7 for telling me to check Rimmington!)
  6. Whoo hoo, it took a while, but I finally got 70 Construction! \:D/ In addition, it also brought me up to rank 432 in Construction, the highest ranking I've ever been (and probably ever will be) in a skill. (now all that's left is for me to make the money to style out my house)
  7. But, on the other hand, just because a certain group of people like the EoC does not mean the rest of them should be dragged there too. There are plenty of valid reasons for disliking the EoC. From what I understood from his post, he didn't want OSRS to become the "main" RuneScape in the place of EoC, just that it would become more than just a rarely updated side-game. Basically running both servers side-by-side, each of them receiving updates just as the current main game does. Although it is true that making updates to OSRS just like they are making updates to EoC RS would make many people mad, we have to keep in mind that a good part (don't know exactly how many, but they exist, and I think it is reasonable to assume they aren't a tiny minority) of the OSRS players didn't actually want an August 2007 server, all they wanted was a RuneScape where there was no EoC. In a perfect world, a player would be able to be given the choice between playing a RS with no EoC and playing one with the EoC. (I feel like I probably didn't word this properly, so don't be afraid to ask for clarification.) The way I see it, creating '07 servers rather than just pre-EoC ModernScape servers was a smart move on Jagex's part. Had they just done that, much of the community would just switch to how RuneScape was right before EoC was released, and it all would have just been a big waste of effort. Being such a grand-scale update and one that is still new, it's bound to have a lot of drawbacks, but Jagex is fixing them bit by bit. With '07 Scape, Jagex is viably able to keep both games running because they are different enough on the fundamental level. Personally, I don't even have anything against EoC. I simply enjoy Oldschool more and feel that it better captures the “spirit” of the game. I'm not the type of person to quit over a few updates. But hey, to each their own.
  8. I agree with this, it'd make everything a lot simpler and less ambiguous (except maybe have RSC as “RuneScape 1” or just keep it as “RuneScape Classic”). As for everyone rushing to get a 99 as mentioned in the OP, I can't help but think that part of that is everyone panicking over the uncertainty of OSRS's future (e.g. if the extra fee will be added in September or if the game's community will be dead soon), and wanting to get everything done that they can get done before it's too late. Whether or not these things will come to be, the uncertainty itself is having an impact on the playerbase.
  9. Woot, I have full Lumberjack now! It only took me around 2 hours in the other RuneScape to obtain the whole set (this was even pre-update, still had the repeat pieces and old Temple Trekking gameplay), whereas here it took me an entire combined six hours! (it didn't help that I got four sets of the boots before getting any other piece)
  10. Hit 900 total two days ago, from just gathering some iron for a quest. Hopefully I can get 70+ construction and a nice POH over the summer, that's my main goal! 8-) (Ping, how do you always manage to be in my screenshots?)
  11. Truth be told, I wouldn't recommend magics at any level. The amount of money and xp you get from them is fairly small considering how long they take to cut. (Also, take Powerfrog's advice and get the strung rabbit foot, it's definitely worth it.)
  12. I don't think so, I didn't get any. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a little teaser for their rare drop implementation though, they've been going over a lot of ideas (see the latest oldschool poll).
  13. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember Goblin Raiders ever being around back in 2007… :?
  14. I owned a DFS (when they were 35m) before I've even received a bronze defender as a drop (over 1k tokens and still no luck). Then it seems they increased the drop rate, and I managed to get a dragon defender from nothing in a couple of hours. I also used to own two snelm sets for no real reason.
  15. Ah sweet, I've been selected! And on the topic of security, one bit of advice I'd give is to use an e-mail address made only for RuneScape and Jagex e-mails, and just use your other e-mail address(es) for everything else.
  16. Voted no on queue (won't feel authentic to '07 and isn't really necessary) and no for Monkey Madness optional Defence (hue hue hue).
  17. Up until the release of bonfires in otherscape, I always found Port Phasmatys to be a really good spot to train Firemaking (be sure to equip Ghostspeak Amulet so you can one-click bank). As for Mousekeys, JMods have stated that they're perfectly legal.
  18. Yeah, their websites seem a bit buggy today for me too. I'm getting better luck with the game client though.
  19. Whoo hoo, 43 prayer! Now I can go questing! It amazes me how fast everyone is advancing in this game.
  20. The Coal Trucks are the best place until the Mining Guild. Be warned if you're low combat though, since there are aggressive giant bats there.
  21. R.I.P. Easter Ring In all seriousness though, excellent update.
  22. Didn't Tip.It used to have a team cape back in 2007? Team-36 I believe it was?
  23. Here are some of the quests I did to help start my 2007 journey: Rune Mysteries (for Runecrafting) Druidic Ritual (for Herblore) Doric's Quest (Mining xp) The Knight's Sword (Smithing xp) Waterfall Quest (was able to get me from 5 Attack/Strength to 30, be warned as there are high leveled aggressive monsters) Fishing Contest (for access to Kandarin without wolves or Karamja boat fees) Another bit of advice I have is to get Thieving up a bit and start stealing cakes from the Ardougne stall. They make for a great lower-leveled food.
