  1. Barehanded vs harpoon. Not interested in faster experience, just wondering if I catch sharks faster or slower barb fishing them versus with a harpoon.
  2. Simple question, really, is there a noticable difference between catching something barb fishing and regular fishing? In terms of how often you catch, I mean. (Sharks in particular)
  3. Whip Whip with Rune Defender for attack/defense training. SS or D Scimmy with Rune Defender for Strength training. Armour: Bandos > Barrows > Dragon
  4. Is there a mini-obelisk near the caverns I can use, or would it be better to bring a summoning pot?
  5. Simple question, really. Is it worth bringing rock lobs down to the caverns since there's no bank? I could always go up and recharge summon points and bring a few pouches with me.
  6. Nests are members only, so don't worry about it unless you get mems. And I'd recommend checking the GE Database accessed from the main RS page (under Game Guide), price checking yourself (shows mid price; you can check from your equipment page, click the bag of coins), or directly at the GE.
  7. Well when I was training my skiller, I always cut them at Lumby, but just cause I was too lazy to go and sell them lol. I burnt mine to get firemaking exp too (but I was a skiller, didn't need money =P) Draynor isn't a bad place to cut regular trees. Just get the best hatchet you can and keep upgrading every time you can use a new one.
  8. You only have to be 75. And they're not actually lamps. you talk to Brundt and you have the option of getting the experience. But if you're not 75, you can just leave it and come back later.
  9. Are you f2p or p2p? If f2p, start at oaks once you can, and if you want to make cash, cut them just southwest of Varrock, and bank and sell to GE when you have enough. Don't do willows, they're worth nothing.
  10. Woodcutting is pretty good cash, if he's F2P. If he's members, there are much better ways to gain cash, but I'd consider Woodcutting one of the better skills for f2pers.
  11. Well if you don't want to lose too much money, I'd suggest farming herbs and making them into potions - virtually NO loss.
  12. lol thought I did it wrong. But had to make sure =P
  13. Personally, I think it depends on the skill cape. Something relatively easy, like fletching, firemaking, or cooking (my personal 3 LEAST favorite capes), I'd wear the quest cape over any day. But something tougher, like Runecrafting or Slayer, I'd wear that over the quest cape. It all depends on our personal opinions. Seeing a skill cape for a skill that we find incredibly boring tends to raise our respect of that person, for devoting themself to getting that incredibly boring skill to 99 (even though they might enjoy the skill). But quest cape doesn't prove that you did every quest yourself. For instance, I have 285 Quest Points, and I've NEVER done a quest w/o a guide (lolz). I'm just too lazy. But spending the time to get a skill cape proves you have devotion to a particular skill and took the time to get it. And I'm beginning to see more and more quest capes these days - definately one of the more common capes. And with each new quest cape, I think the overall achievement of getting a quest cape (to me personally) decreases. If everyone has one, what's the point of getting one - you can't really show off if everyone else has the exact same thing.
  14. Well I'm currently on a goal of 99 Fishing (and possibly 99 Woodcutting - I'm undecided about that) but afterwards I'm looking for a few more 99s to get, and Crafting and Smithing would be two respectable ones that I'd enjoy getting the capes for. Crafting I have about 3m atm and fishing will get me to about 50m. If I did my Math correctly, making green d'hide bodies to 99 only cost me about 50m (without the needles from SC). 1. Did I do the Math right? If not, how much would it cost? 2. About what is the exp/hr making green d'hide bodies (w/o needles)? 3. If this isn't the best method, what is, and what's the cost to 99 and the exp/hr? Smithing Smithing is the tougher one. I don't really know how much it costs, as the method I looked at cost waaaaay too much for me. So... 1. What's the best method (good exp/hr and not a huge loss)? 2. How much would this cost me? 3. What's the exp/hr? I can make 20m per week if I try, and over a month I could make 80-100m, but I think I'd find that incredibly boring lol. So please answer my questions, and then I can decide if I should go for it or not.
  15. Try going back and talking to the Chef. I had the same problem, ran around for 15 minutes trying to figure out what I did wrong lol, then finally went back and found out that was it xD
  16. I don't have a fire cape yet, but depending on the skill cape, I'd wear the fire cape. If it was something good like prayer, slayer, or runecrafting, then I'd wear the skill cape, even while training combat. But if it was something not quite as good, like strength (too common), I'd wear the fire cape. While skilling and chatting, I'd definitely wear the skill cape over the fire cape, probably regardless unless it was one of my least favorite 99s lol
  17. So my current goals are 99 Fishing and 99 Woodcutting. I'm not expecting them any time soon, as I'm aiming for them on the same day (probably sometime in the next 5 months), but I'm gonna go ahead and plan on what I'm gonna get. I currently have about 11m and a BCP, and my next goal is to get tassies. 99 Fishing and Woodcutting will make me about another 60m, so I should have about 70m when I'm done, minus 25m for tassies. That leaves me with 45m. I was thinking about making a fair bit of cash using fruit bars and buying 90+ smithing and crafting, but I'd also like an sgs (even though I probably wouldn't use it all that much lol). So what should I do with that 45m - make some more cash and buy 90+ smithing and crafting, or save it for better melee gear? I can always make more cash if I need to, and I tend to be more of a skiller, so I'm leaning towards the 90+ skills.
  18. Personally, I'd say f2p DESERVES the skill capes. Like mentioned before, they spend MUCH more time to get their 99s, whereas members have fairly easy 80k+/hr ways of getting skill capes (some, not all...) For instance, the best woodcutting experience for f2p is willows, while p2p now has ivy. that's almost DOUBLE the experience per hour, AND members get dragon hatchets. Members can also power train combat skills at places like armoured zombies, bandits, dagannoths (sp?), and other places. F2pers pest exp/hr is probably at giant spiders, and they don't get the benefits of better armour/weapons, better healing food, super sets, and a very common healing method, Guthans. Personally, I think that many members just say 'NO!' instantly to this request because they want to show off their skill capes to f2pers, bragging that they have one but the f2per doesn't (even if they HAVE a 99). But members have 9 skills that f2pers don't. If a member works hard to get one of those 99s, they can brag to an f2per that they have 99 Summoning, or Hunter, or one of the more expensive skills like Construction or Herblore. Anyways, coming to a conclusion, I think that skill capes should at least be MADE AVAILABLE FOR WEAR by f2pers, even if they have to pay to get them in the first place. If an ex-member takes off his skill cape by accident, he should be allowed to put it back on.
  19. Few questions about using items from SC. 1. What's the experience per hour making green d'hide bodies with an SC needle? And how long do these needles last? 2. What's the experience per hour making mith bolts with an SC hammer? And how long do these hammers last? 3. What's the best experience per hour for mining with an SC item? 4. And last but not least, I've heard a rumor that using a rune hatchet is better than a dragon hatchet for cutting Ivy. Is this true?
  20. ^^ This is what I did until 62 or so, when I found yaks (requires starting Fremmy Isles). Yaks seemed to be faster experience, though the Ogres drop seeds sometimes.
  21. It depends on what skill(s) you're planning on training, but cost a bit of cash. If you're planning on getting Summoning up, go ahead and get some free experience in that. Personally, I wouldn't use it in Runecrafting, even though it is slow, since you can make a lot of money from training the skill.
  22. If I could use a Bunyip, I'd have another method. But I only have the charms for 64 Summoning, and don't feel like spending the cash lol. So just using my Penguin Points on it (still gonna take me like 8 weeks or so to get to 68 =/)
  23. Which is better? I seem to get the same amount of experience from each, but I'm taking less damage from Bandits than Spiders. A lot more Spiders means less time to wait for respawn, but the world can get crowded fast (for instance, I found a completely empty world but within 20 minutes there were 5 other people there). I was doing well at Bandits, not having to heal with Guthans once or use a monk (Enchanted Excalibur ftw!) A big pro is that if you can find an empty spot, generally nobody will disturb you (though earlier a 116 tried to kick me out of the world LOL). Also, is Guthans even worth using at this point? I don't have enough cash to afford a BCP and tassets, and don't feel like getting a Torso. Would Void Melee work fine here, with only 80 Defense (also have Excalibur spec)? Also, is it worth buying an SS for Strength training? Or should I just use D Scimmy and Rune Defender?
  24. Dags seem to be more of gold charm droppers for me. Bursting Rock Lobsters would be good for Crimsons, if you have the cash. (I've never personally done it though)
  25. Lady ninane, just pointing out that I already have 99 Hunt :P Aeil, I was doing Plunder, but as I'm only 70, I was getting about 80-90k an hour. But I'm thinking I might at least try for 80.
