  1. Are you sure this is an ad from Jagex? When you surf other sites does it still pop up? I once accidentally downloaded something with a Windows service pack that brought up ads from a certain website. I couldn't even figure out what was happening for a year.
  2. Despite the flames you get, I thought about this myself. I say perhaps not make it a skill, but maybe work it into your current hit points. It's strange that someone with 20 hit points can heal full health as people with 99 can only heal 1/5. Additionally, I find it strange that you can eat a whole shark or turtle in one bite without any sort of utensils. It would make much more sense to make you need utensils to eat. This would create a much more complicated food system, with some meant for battle, while others are better for in between training. Unfortunately, you can't add something like this to a game, you really have to start with it.
  3. I know the purpose of that system, and I'm not suggesting we change it. It actually had little to do with PK-ing, because in those early days, you could only attack people really near your skill AT ALL. (It would be similar to being stuck in lvl 3 wilderness all of the time). People need to be able to click on a rock without accidently attacking monsters that will likely kill them. Out of curiousity, what would you think as an alternative to shift-clicking? Eh, that's what I was talking about, the early pking system. At this point you can still one click monsters up to 3 levels higher than you, jus tlikeyou could still one click players up to 3 levels higher than you. One of the problems I would see with shift clicking though, is if your mouse is already over the enemy, and then you click shift. It'd get a big awkward with the changing command. Additionally, people who properly type (as I do sometimes) are in the habit of actually using the shift key, but that shouldn't be much of a problem either being as few type and click at the same time, much less hold shift. Yeah, totally. I'm not sure what other commands would be useful to add, however, the more I think about it, the more I think they need to just drop "auto-chat" (that is, whenever you type a character, you're typing a message). I think there should be a chat activation button, probably just enter (return). That would bring the cursor to the chat window to type a message. Then you could have "w,a,s,d" as your view changing keys, which is MUCH more comfortable than the cursor keys. I suppose this would be the best way to work instead of a shift key. Without compulsory chatting, this opens up a lot more keys to use. It also opens up errors. I mostly speak from my experiences on Warcraft III which has a nice but sometimes annoying system. I'm really not sure what would work better than a shift key, it is the only key that would seem plausible at this point. Perhaps another option to set how much higher than you an enemy can be when you can one click it? That would be a pain to program though. It's like in diablo when you can set limits on who can join your game. Yeah, I play a lot of blizzard games.
  4. AHHH! Forced fatigue recovery! Yeah, that's about all I have to say.
  5. Ah, I remember something when reading the Mage Arena guide about needing a knife to cut through webs cause you cant bring a weapon? I get bored so i browse through guides. What am I thinking of then?
  6. Eh, its breaking the rules one way or another. At one point, people were saying that they are not selling a runescape account, they are selling the time and effort put into it. When an account has one owner and that owner switches with the transfer of real world items, it's against the rules. Loopholes only fool morons, Jagex sees right through it.
  7. 1. Save the attack-mode state at log-off. Yes, definately. This, although no more than a minor annoyance, would really make the game a lot more streamlined. 2. Scroll lock on the chat window. In addition to this, a bit more of how much text can be there. In world 1, it will take only 5 or 10 seconds to have gone through all the text so that even scroll locking won't be much help. 3. Shift-click to attack regardless of level. I think they need to revamp that system. This was originally built on the pking/non-pking principle of early RSC days. This way people would only have the option to attack those near their level as how it was made in old RSC pking. I see that it may be used to protect people, but 90% of the dangerous monsters are aggressive anyway. Perhaps not shift clicking, but something would really make it easier 4. Word wrap on the chat window. Word wrapping would be good, but let's face it, there are few times that you need to type that much. 5. Clicking anything in the UI would not stop current action I would have to agree here too. Interruptions are just annoying. 6. ON/OFF for chat filter. Eh, maybe. Chat filters arent necesarily bad. However, they need a full time person working on editing this. 7. Bring back the tell feature What runescape needs is a command key. Like in blizzard games, the "/" is used for commands. Runescape needs to adopt one of these because typing can really streamline how things work. The complete lack of textual commands is slightly annoying 8. "Listen" feature. Eh, I find this unnecessary. If this did come, it should also come with different levels of talking. Itd be helpful if when your telling your team to attack in the wilderness, you don't let that guy know. A whisper command as well? 9. Action macros for most actions I'm gonna have to say no to this one. It's just not in the nature of the game. What would runescape be without 10 billion clicks to do well? 10. Language preference I believe there were rumors of Jagex looking into other languages for Runescape. I would think this is more of a long term project. It requires a significant staffing group to do this as well.
  8. Easier programming. There are areas in members, well, I think, where you are not allowed to bring weapons or armor. I know mage arena you can't have weapons. Entrana or something you cant bring weapons or amor? I'm not sure, I'm f2p afterall. Then knife and hammer would be included and not allowed. Right now, they only need to have a check to see if you have anything wieldable. If they added kinfe and hammer to wieldable they would have to check to allow those.
  9. Runescape is a real time fighting system. The difference is, that Runescape is in a slower, I guess I could say framerate when it comes to fighting. While most games have at least 18 calculations per second, Runescape has maybe 3 or 4. You can't attack in Oblivion as fast as you click, you still have to wait. Turn based fighting systems imply that when it is your turn, you can decide what to do, you can choose to sit there and do nothing. In this case you can wait as long as you possibly want to consider and think through your next action. It might be argued that Runescape is a hybrid system such as the one used in FF7. There you get a certain amount of time to perform an action, and while you can wait to do anything, the enemy will still perform their actions. However, I still see Runescape as a real time combat system. Adventurequest is more of a turn based one. A real time combat system, with a terrible frame rate.
  10. Firestriking is the easiest and cheapest f2p magic exp. This would take about 40k firestrikes. Firestrikes cost you at max 60 each, at 2 airs and a mind. Thats only 2.4 mil if you're firestriking, quite a bit lower than the 19 mil. Additionally, if you runecraft it, with say, level 33 runecrafting, you can make 4 airs a rune essence. Crafting 20k essence will get you at least to level 51 at which time you can craft 10k essence into mind runes. Crafting 30k essence is quite time consuming but it gives you great exp, and at a fractin of the cost. 30k essence can be bought at max 30 each so thats just 1 mil. 1mil=40k fire strikes=level 70 magic But you might have a lower runecrafting.
  11. I'm a spammer.! since when is an expansion pack more than 3 thimes the size of the original game. f2p is only a demo of p2p Wrong. f2p is not a demo or a trial, it's a full game. p2p IS the expansion, its just been constantly expanded a lot the past few years while the f2p updates haven't been keeping up. Also, you being a spammer might be true, since double posting can be considered spam. #-o Thank you. Expansion packs are whatever they make it. Take The Sims for example. There are a total of 7 expansion packs for the original. Each one of these contains a complete set of new items. The first expansion pack multiplies by 5 the amount of people you can use. There are new jobs in a few of the first ones. The later ones give you completely new areas to explore, new options. But it's still an expansion pack, albeit, a large set of them. I once again reiterate, P2p is just the (massive) expansion pack of Runescape.
  12. First of all, many of the altars are in members only areas. However, I do find it strange that free can't make chaos runes.
  13. Personally, this sounds more like a rant than a discussion. If you want to ensure a kill, go duel, that way you know someone will die. And of course level 1-3 wilderness is useless. Similarly, level 1-3 smithing is quite useless. Low level anything is for the most part good for nothing. Additionally, PKing isn't meant to be easy, you are essentially taking items from other players, why would that be easy?
  14. Banks can give interest because banks can give loans. Banks can give loans because banks can reposess objects worth money and auction them for a fraction of the cost.
  15. Yes with what others have said. But. If you make it a sufficiently high cost and make it only note and unnote one thing at a time, in most cases it would be easier to just stop by a bank. Either way, I'd rather not have it.
  16. I'm with him, I'm totally lost. Proper spelling and a bit better grammar at least? Or a translation? I've pieced many a poor post together, but this has slightly stumped me. Something about fenced in areas and questions?
  17. I'm in the US and I've been having this problem on and off.
  18. I'm not too sure how the yew trees in the wildy would solve much, just give woodcutters who burn a place to go. There is already a nice tree just south of falador for that though. Skill pures, I'm not too sure whether or not RS was designed for skill pures. I know it wasn't designed to have magic or ranging as main combat styles being as those didn't effect combat level before. I personally found that runescape was mostly a combat based game, so skill pures weren't meant to be in the beginning. However, RS seems to have embraced skill pures so that now they are quite natural to the game.
  19. Or, keep with the pre-existing business model, not have to create a complex card and number system and continue to make millions? It's a viable idea, being as nearly every other major MMORPG uses it. But it's just unneccesary.
  20. First of all, Help and Advice board would get you more replies. 1. If you want to pk, then you should only train strength from here on out. Personally I prefer to have a few more attack levels, but the only way to pk in f2p effectively is with pures.. 2. Depends on what you want. If you are looking to get prayer levels as well, I'd say hill giants. Pirates also worked well. Hobgoblins would work. Black Knights. White Knights. Dark Warriors. If you aren't concerned about drops, Spiders. Guards. Just about anything! 3. Spider Eggs and Limpwurt Roots. Limpwurts I get from hobgoblins or hill giants. 4. Realistically? You'll never find a buyer for more than 2 at a time. I've seen them go for up to 2k. I personally prefer at least 1k. If you want to mass sell maybe aroune 750 each?
  21. My bank isn't quite as organized. I fill up a row from the left as much as I can with 1 kind, and then the very far right tends to be random stuff.
  22. Yes, I would have to agree, it looks more like urine...but maybe that's only because I'm on low detail?
  23. Xaga

    P1nk'D

I'm not gonna lie, that was good. Sides, what would we get you banned for anyway? It'd be easy to get half the people muted for spamming after you left. Seeing people telegrabbing absolute junk was fun last time though.
  24. I've said it once, I'll say it again. F2p is a full game. P2p is an expansion pack.
  25. Alright, I think that the Runescape Monster drop system works a lot like the one in Diablo II. It checks each item individually, starting with the most common. It does a roll on each item and if it passes a critical point, it will drop that item. In this way, only by missing all the common items will you get the rarer one. Ring of Wealth increases the common items. Therefore it is much much harder to miss all the common items. However, if you are lucky enough to miss all the commons, it will have higher for the rare items. I fear that the ring of wealth may make common items too easy to get and therefore the harder to find items are never seen. If this were the case then Ring of Wealth would work best on creatures that usually drop nothing, so that overall drops would all increase.
