  1. Meh, not impressive. :P Nah, seriously, pretty awesome. What are you going to do now? Increase XP in all levels? Do some minigames? Fool around? Marvelous achievement. :)
  2. Then don't post that garbage like you did a few posts up. I don't understand much of business either, but this article was well written and easy to understand, and it makes a darn good point. It explains the current situation quite well and it gave me some new insights about Jagex and the corporation that they are. An article of outstanding quality.
  3. My RS adventure started somewhere in 2001 (still trying to recover the actual date) at the age of 13 after seeing the game at a friends house. The name of the account I created was Lord Bunkie, and I still use it. I decided not to go for a PvP character, because I thought it was scary to be able to be killed everywhere. I didn't leave Lumbridge untill I was like level 15 (I could beat a farmer!) and ventured off to the "big city" (Varrock). Some time after the PvP system was removed, banks where introduced and a few big new areas were released (wilderness). That's when I really started. I became really fond of mining (THE way for making money in that time) and after quite some time I could mine coal! That's when I was getting rich, because coal was generally sold for 100gp! Unbelievable that people would pay such large amounts of cash for a single ore. Members was also introduced after some time, and I remember Jagex saying that members would get all their updates fist, and after some time some of them would be available for F2P (well we've seen what became of that). I decided that I would NEVER pay for a game like this (oh well, I was young). Shortly after RS2 was released, I quited for a long time. I couldn't get used to the graphics and the nasty sound. I still don't use sound these days. Luckily I transfered all my items to RS2 before I quit, else I'd be stuck there now, lol. Years later, I decided to try the game again and saw that the game was updated enormously, and was frequently updated. I played for a while and (not having dial-up anymore) increased my skills a lot. After some time I got bored again, and quit. Later, I started again, and became P2P. This is when the true skilling came along. But again, I became bored with the game, and quit. Well, I keep coming back, so just before 2006 ended, I started again and am playing still and skilling a lot. I will probably be quiting and coming back continuously. Looking back at my RS time I'd wish that I picked a better name. I really hate my current RS name and would change it asap if that was possible. I'm happy to say that in all the time that I play RS I have never begged for stuff and never scammed or deceived someone. Though I have used an auto-miner in the early days of RS1... Letting him click for me and move one spot away when I got the message "you have been standing here for 5 minutes, please move to a newer area". But oh well, I was young, forgive me :P I'd never do that now as I don't want any help in trying to get my skills as high as possible, rest assured. Oh, somewhere in RS1 I made a pker too, but I forgot the name after I left it untouched for a few years. But that doesn't matter, skilling is now the main part of the game for me, and I'm lousy at pking anyways. I think, for the future, that I will continue to play RS. Seeing that this game improvement really fast and continues to expand, I think I'll be playing this game with a lot of fun in the coming years.
  4. Even then, things aren't changing much, other than the human race becoming more uniform I suppose (though I just said that randomly, I'm not sure if it's true  ). Other than that I don't really see any general evolutionary shift in the human race. What do you mean by uniform? When speaking of gene pools, they just keep getting larger due to increased mobility. Mixing up different races increases the combinations of genes and thus decreasing uniformity in a certain way. But if you mean that cultures get mixed up and fade, then you're right, but that has nothing to do with evolution. What you mean is that we rapidly change the environment. That has nothing to do with evolution.
  5. Slowing down evolution? I don't think so. Evolution continues. If you see that natural selection and fitness in the human race have become less important, then I agree, but evolution is more than natural selection and fitness. It can draw evolution in one direction, but without it, it certainly does not mean evolution has stopped. It'd quite obvious humans have evolved, we no longer use our appendix. That shows that we have evolved and no longer have a need for it. Evolution has been proven scientifically in many, many ways. It's even possible to prove it with scientifical experiments. But religion will always find a way to deny cold hard evidence so it's a worthless discussion.
  6. it's the place where your Red Blood Cells go to be terminated i believe, because they can't divide because of no nucleus, so they must be killed off, by the spleen. Heh, such a funny word The major function of the spleen is for antigen-presenting-cells (macrophages that have taken up particles foreign to the body) to meet with the T and B lymfocytes for an inflammatory response from the specific immunosystem.
  7. Well, in fact, the amount of nucleus in an atom is like... zero. Nothing. 10^-27 part of the atom's inhabited space is nucleus. So that means we consist pretty much of total emptyness. Everywhere you look, it's almost all vacuum. I think that's pretty amazing.
  8. Bots would find a way around this and it IS irritating.
  9. Just what I was about to say. Football = football, that means, touch the ball with your feet. I do call it soccer mostly though, it just sounds better.
  10. Title says it all. I just got through the shortcut to Klank, but there seems to be no way back. Can anyone tell me where the way back is?
  11. Bah, not another stupid mini-game. We have plenty of those, bring us a decent update ffs. Can someone sum up all the rewards for this darn mini-game? Yay for the update to the anchor. I'm going to earn me some money with a friend :P
  12. Sorry, didn't make my point too clear it seems. I have no problem with people wanting change - thats only natural after playing the game for such a long time - what grinds my gears is people who demand change or expect Jagex to pander to their every whim. People like yourself who tell whats going on and their points against it are perfectly fine, its the ones who feel Jagex owes them something that irritate me. You are right. But I think this article is quite good in its criticism. It doesn't give me the "omfg i wan teh updates pl0x!!!" feeling, but just constructive criticism. Criticism that is needed, in my opinion. The editor is absolutely right about the fact that Jagex is aiming more and more on younger players. Something that can be quite frustrating for the older and more mature people. I hate it when Jagex parents us players around. They even have a "parents guide" on their website, I think it's a disgrace. Jagex should keep Runescape a game, and not let it become a social institution. Wonderful written article. I agree with every aspect in it.
  13. Do what I do when I get such feelings: take a break. I have been playing from around the beginning of RS1 but I've taken lots of breaks, even years. My experience is that you have more fun after taking a break. Just let it go for a while. You don't have to play neccesarily.
  14. You fail to notice that losing stuff when dying in ah PoH's dungeon is not normal?
  15. Could be quite correct, that hypothesis. Though, I'm quite sure we humans do influence global warming. Scientists believe that the "pools" of CO2 (in the air, ocean, fixated in plants, etc) are quite narrow. So if a small change occurs in one pool, it could have relatively big effects. Lets say this is true, and the sun influences the release of CO2, then we have two effects that will further increase global warming... us, and the oceans. And once us humans see that we have to stop with releasing more CO2 in the air... it's too late, because the oceans are already releasing their CO2 and thus warming up the earth more, releasing more CO2, warming up more, etc. So, it's best to act NOW and get those CO2 levels down, because it will only get worse and cost us more. it's simply an indepenant report on how CO2 has little or no affect on climate, and how it is mroe to do with nature Nonsense. CO2 does have an influence on the climate, although the issue here is if it's due to the sun+ocean or humans. And I think it's both.
  16. I think you are then, that didn't work. Oh well... not that much of a problem. Thanks for the answers.
  17. Hmm it still says I have too much weight in my bag with 42kg. I click the "fly" option with the assistant. Perhaps I have to "use" the willow log on something? I tried the basket and the assistant, but nothing works.
  18. Ok thank you. I will try that out.
  19. I agree, it's the best way. It's just a shame that I have to leave some logs behind :P So, 42kg will work because I use the willow immediatly? Or do I have to be 40kg _before_ flying?
  20. Alright, so I'm making oak planks by using the balloons from CW -> Varrock and a duelling ring. So I have money, a willow log and oaks in my invent. I'm wearing a spottier cape and boots of lightness. But... that's 44kg! How can I lose another 4kg? I know the penance gloves can help me with this but I hate barbarian assault, and it takes too long. So I was wondering if there was an alternative to that. Anyone?
  21. SS is legal.
  22. Sorry, that just made me laugh. Vista isn't 'too secure', it just annoys the hell out of people asking for the same password over and over. Most people will adopt the same click before reading mentality they have now or just shut UAC off entirely, making the whole system useless. Vista 64Bit demands WHQL'ed drivers I believe. They don't accept unsigned drivers. I don't like it when people think they have to choose for me.
  23. I dropped my diving gear after RfD, how to get that back?
