  1. Yes, yes, nice suggestions! 1. I don't see why it isn't on every world already. Perhaps they'll make it so half the worlds are old wilderness (With a few tweaks) and half are Bounty. 2. A. I understand why this should be implemented and I agree. Say a clan has 10 level 55s, they got that level just to destroy the easy crater. One of them kills so many people that he levels up to 56. He can no longer go into the easy crater with his clan. B. I understand this as well. I went in with my pure the day it came out. As soon as I got in, I got piled by 5 rangers/mages 10 levels above me. I had no time to eat, no time to run, no time to protect item. I suppose it could easily happen with 5 players my level, so now I would like to add this... Make it so that half the area is single player (Including the edges) and half is multi. So basically, I'm for both proposal A and B. There should be a way to have both.
  2. 8 :uhh: Basically, you've taken too much time pressing caps lock and too little time thinking about skillers. Not to mention that the F2P quests are quite easy. And since there's no variety between each player's quest, there will be quest macros out before you know it. And what do you mean by "leveling up is not easy for bots for they cant survive that long"? You DO know that yews take 60 woodcutting? And macroers use macros to get that? It takes a day or two. So um...Yes, terrible suggestion, would not solve anything, and would make the game even worse. I suppose Jagex will do it then.
  3. I wouldn't go so far as 5 quests. A suggestion of mine a while ago was a mega-quest. A quest that would give F2P a lot of the things they wanted. If Jagex was ever to give F2P a new quest, the rewards could be... -The ability to make up to steel arrows. -The ability to buy a beer that makes your energy recharge faster -The ability to buy and use crossbows and bolts up to steel. (No enchantments or tips) And I missed this earlier...Unorclan, how do 395 supporters post in 100 posts? o.0 I think the support list ended at 400 or so. And that was back in the two-digit pages. I'm pretty sure there are at least a thousand.
  4. So...Um...Why did Jagex give F2P those things then? (Well, I have to admit...Jagex's intelligence has gone down...) Devnull, I would NOT care at all if F2P was given the ability to make arrows. Maybe up to mithril or something. F2P rangers DO need a little boost. As for RCing chaos runes...Sorry, but I'm against it. On the topic of agility...I've noticed that there IS a pretty big difference. On my F2P pure, it takes forever to recharge energy. I got 6% or something back in 5 minutes. The recharge rate is much faster with agility, even at 42. I'm not sure why Jagex hasn't taken out the effect on F2P worlds already. I hope Jagex IS reading all these suggestions, and has noticed that many people are against their updates. I'm not saying that they completely revert it, but a mix between the old and new, in which RWTs are killed, yet honest players are unharmed, should be possible. I've read many ideas, and quite a few would work.
  5. Perhaps make it like the Lumbridge Home Teleport. Takes a pretty long time and is interrupted by combat. And if there isn't already a way to operate the skill cape, make it so you have to operate it to teleport.
  6. People who want only one type of rune, and especially in large amounts, use the abyss. This especially goes for those altars that are far from banks. Plenty of people are talking about how abyss rc-ing is so much easier. Take this to them. 1. I personally think the trip up there is shorter than the time it could take to get a rune ore at the Heroes Guild, since you're fighting with much more people. I've seen worlds in which there are no (Sometimes only one or two) people at the rune rocks in the wilderness. 2. When F2P rune miners find out that rune ore prices are dropping, then I doubt they'd be happy. And yes, I suppose since F2P just got all those updates, if they aren't happy, a fix is not needed. I'm not talking about XP. I'm talking about hides. Green dragon hides are, or at least used to, be in great demand, and could be sold for a good amount of money. And as you say, there are autoers. There are people that would go to the green dragons and kill those autoers. Now that can't be done. Since it's quite clear you didn't read my post, I'm not going to take the time to respond to the next part. As for rune running, people just do it. I understand why the runecrafter would want people to run runes - It saves him time. I guess the runners do it because it makes them some money. The only running I've ever done was law running, because not only is my RC level too low (And would take much longer to get it to 55) but I haven't done Troll Stronghold, or whatever the quest is called. I'm not really sure why people air run, as they don't even get runes. Now, let's just stop this, and stay to the suggestion. In one of your examples, against the % trade limit, I see a possible flaw. The buyer puts up 2M, and the seller puts up 2.2M. The buyer gains 200K. The same way you don't understand why people rune run, I don't understand why someone with 2M, who earned that much money honestly (If they didn't, then I understand why) would all of a sudden buy 200K. It just doesn't make sense. I suppose they could start small, and end up doing trades with 1M margins. :|
  7. Why don't we start a campaign to have those updates deleted? It worked with bankspace...although I'm not sure Jagex would be as willing to do that. :? We haven't done it, but many people have already made campaigns to have those updates deleted. I mean, there's a thread that's around 1000 pages on the official forums. It's about 10 posts a page (Might be 20), so that's 10K-20K posts. And that's just members that post on the forums. Counting F2P and P2Pers that don't like posting on the forums, and I bet you have upwards of 50K people. =S And Unorclan, you overlooked me on the bottom of your list. Since Moonshadow says to not play the modest game, here we go! D V Devnull (Who you also overlooked) and I were two of the biggest supporters at the beginning of this. Then we both quit the game, and we've gone a little inactive. But we've both un-quit lately, and we're back. But yes, the newer big supporters have played just as big a role. Now what I would like to know, is if this thread even helped F2P get more bankspace.
  8. So...Explain to me...Why have, and why are, people still using the abyss? Also, there's the matter of the chaos altar, although What Lies Below has provided an alternative. F2P. Also, before the update, the wilderness rune rocks were occasionally less crowded, due to the fact that there was more danger out there. So, smart and risky miners were able to go up and mine rune uncontested. No longer is this true. Green dragon (hides). Also F2P. You also missed my etcetera. There are many other activities that could be done in the wilderness. For example, bone gathering. When I was getting my prayer up, I went up to the chaos altar (The non-RC altar). I had to keep an eye out for PKers. (I wasn't carrying anything valuable, but nonetheless, I still didn't really want to be killed) Anyways, people don't have to do that anymore. Just go up, collect bones with no worries. As for your response to Imcleith... Jagex has made official worlds for these things, so they're officially part of the game. And what if someone CAN'T make their own runes? It's also beneficiary to the crafter, so I'm not sure why anyone would dislike rune running.
  9. Whoever it was, nice bump. Anyway, bar prices are rising on the GE. Cannonballs have dropped in price, and soon they will be a bad source of profit. On the other hand, ore prices have dropped, and thus, it's mining that has become obsolete. Iron ores are now like 70-80 each, coal is 160-180 each. Used to be 100 and 200, respectively.
  10. Thanks! I finished the post (Finally) for now.
  11. If you couldn't tell from the title, this is another thread about yesterday's updates. But I'm also going a little back. (And a little forward) So... My Opinions Straight to the point, this is what I think. Duel Arena Staking Limit - Hate it. Grand Exchange - Good basic idea, downhill from there. Party Room Changes - Good idea. F2P Duel Arena - Eh, some F2P-only limits could be added. Otherwise, I guess it's decent. F2P Bank Space - Awesome. I've supported that suggestion every since Prankster posted it. (First page supporter FTW) Wilderness Changes - The worst part. Bounty Hunter - Good idea, if only it didn't screw with the wilderness and PKing. Clan Wars - Good idea, could use a few tweaks. Trade/Drop Changes - Stupid. [hide=My Rant] Duel Arena Staking Limit: When it first came out, I was thinking, "Why can't the RWTs just TRADE?" Of course, with yesterday's release and explanations, that was explained. As the message says when you enter the area, dueling is an honorable pastime. It was a living for many people, making as much, if not more than skills. To those that say dueling isn't a skill, and therefore it shouldn't be done to make money, I say this: Attack, defense, strength, ranging, magic and prayer are skills, and they should be used to make money. The duel arena was how that was accomplished by many people, but with this update, that was no longer. Grand Exchange: As I said, I liked the basic idea. Being able to put up offers that could be accepted while you trained, or even logged off was an excellent idea. Also, having a price that was determined by players was also a nice update. But ever since, I've found it mainly a disappointment. Why? Prices have either dropped, or rose, like crazy. Take full rune for example. I didn't check what the price was when the GE was released, but I'm guessing it was 180K or so. Now, it is 140K-150K. Or, take granite shields. I put mine up for 100K a few weeks ago. Now, it's about 50K-60K. Don't even get me started on iron ores. On the other hand, there's logs. They've risen in price. Anyways, why is this so bad? Dropping prices IS supposed to happen right? Yes, a little fluctuation is fine. But these prices are dropping because people or offering for low, and people are selling for low to sell faster. Thus, the price is now centered around the lowest price. Repeat this, and you've got massively dropping prices. I've done a good deal of mining, and I used to make a decent amount of money off of it. I can't any longer. I know I'm not along, and this isn't limited to miners. Many people are making less money than before. Although I read the Tip.It Times article from last week (The one about money) and agreed with it, for the most part, money is needed for success, and success is needed for enjoyment. And that's what games are about. Enjoyment. Wilderness Changes: This has a few parts. 1. Reducing the size of the wilderness I find this ridiculous. The reason Jagex gave? It would be easier to find other people. I see how it was hard to find other people before the update. If they meant meeting up with clan mates, then those clans really need to work on their communication. If they meant finding people to find, then um...No. Usually, on PK designated worlds, there are hundreds of people north of Varrock and Edgeville. How can you not find people to fight? There was nothing wrong about the size of the previous wilderness. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. 2. Taking away PKing in regular wilderness. Although the revenant ghosts have been added in, PKers were a far greater danger, in my opinion. Without PKers, things such as rune mining, bone collecting (Graveyard/Chaos Altar) and other wilderness activities have become much too easy. Easy things are supposed to be hard to get. It was hard before, with the danger of PKers. Also, now green dragon macros can't be hunted. If Jagex was against macros, why make an update that helps them? 3. No non-combat items in the PK area. Apparently robes (Not sure about mystic) are non-combat items. :-s 4. Gravestones At least Jagex didn't add this in Bounty Hunter. But anyway, if you can get your items back after you die, there is no fear of dying. With no fear of dying, then food is basically pointless. Bounty Hunter and Clan Wars: These two are good updates, if only they didn't screw up the wilderness and PKing. Bounty Hunter - You might as well take out the bounty part. Next to no one is killing their target. It's impossible without getting piled by a team. Which leads me to my next point. In many cases, it's impossible without a team. Clan Wars - All in all, a good update. Trade/Drop Changes - I may rant later, but right now, I'd like to get my suggestions down. Phew, that was long. And I still have the suggestions ahead. [/hide] [hide=My Suggestions] Duel Arena Staking Limit: Simply make it so that the difference between the stakes of the two people cannot be more than 10% of the greater one. For example, Player A stakes 10K. Player B must stake 9K-11K. This goes for item value. Why this will fulfill the original purpose - RWTs will not be able to duel-stake-trade in mass amounts. People who buy gold will need a lot of money to start out with, in which case, they probably wouldn't be buying gold. In order to buy 100K gold, the buyer must already have 900K in order for the duel to happen. Grand Exchange Prices: Create a minimum minimum price. As in a low of the lows. First, the prices would have to be reset to the original price (First day price) if the item has dropped. Then, 80% of the current price would be made the set minimum. The item will never drop past that price. For example, take iron ores. The price when the GE came out was 95-105, I believe. 80% of 100 is 80. So the set minimum for iron ores would be 80. So if everyone starts selling and buying for 95, then the price would drop to 91-99 or something. Eventually, it could possibly drop to 81-85 or something. Everyone sells for 81. The new price would be 80-83, or so. The price would only rise after that. Why this would fulfill the original purpose - The prices would still remain player-decided, but would not screw up the economy. F2P Duel Arena: No staking for F2P. Fun duels only. Why this would fulfill the original purpose - F2P will have an opportunity of enjoying the fun of dueling, yet would not be able to enjoy all the benefits of it. P2Pers who became P2P mainly because of the duel arena would not feel like they have wasted their money. -I'm going to switch up the order a little here, it works better this way- Bounty Hunter: I went in yesterday, and before it even loaded, I got piled by 5 rangers/mages. I was binded, and couldn't fight back. Bang. Dead. Insert a ring of single combat zones around the outside wall, and possibly in the very middle. This way, singlers can still be successful, and teamers can have their fun. Increase the penalty of attacking someone other than your target. This way, it will still be BOUNTY Hunter, not attack anyone you want. Perhaps take it out of the wilderness. The idea of a bank in the middle of the wilderness is quite absurd. And oh yes, allow anything you can wear to be brought in. Why this will fulfill the original purpose - First of all, the original purpose was to BOUNTY hunt. The increased penalty will help this. Also, people aren't using BH because they know they will get destroy by teams. This would be fixed. Clan Wars: I don't think this update really had a huge impact. But still, I think it could use a few tweaks. Basically, I would like to see being able to get items from clan wars. There are a few ways this could work. Both ways involve the leaders of the clans making a decision on whether they want a friendly war, or a staked/dropped war. Stake - Like Duel Arena. The 10% rule applies. Why this would fulfill the original purpose - First of all, clans would still be able to have friendly wars. But for those that would like to have wars in which loot is dropped, then this would be good for them. Second of all, RWTs wouldn't be able to use it. Basically the same reasoning as the Duel Arena. I also tried working on an idea in which if someone died, they would drop their items. It didn't work out, but if anyone could think of a way that could work, I will add it and credit you. Wilderness Changes: First, restore the size. I'm not sure if they reduced the size of the land, or just added in two big arenas. (Three?) Anyway, like I said earlier, moving BH could work. Clan Wars could be moved too. It could be a dungeon if needed. Or, it can be one of those things where you step into the portal, and you get teleported to a place that's not on the map. Kind of like houses. Second, restore PKing. Basically the same as before. Third, the gravestones. I say keep them. But change them. Keep it so once you die, a gravestone is spawn. But, take away the pray/bless/whatever thing. Now, as for keeping drops. When you die, you drop everything if you're skulled. If you're protect item-ing, then you keep one. Three if you're not skulled, four if you're not skulled and you protect. Fourth, I'm stealing this off other people. Many people have suggested it. Make it so you cannot take over 5K cash over the ditch. But RWTs will then just sell expensive items. I haven't thought of a way to go against this yet, but I don't see how they can't just use BH. Have the item seller go in with something expensive, and hide in a corner. Then have the item buyer go in, and kill the seller. Doesn't the buyer get the item now? If not, then perhaps implement the same thing in the regular wilderness, if it isn't absurd. Fifth, just take out the revenant monsters. No one likes them, and I doubt they're killing RWTs. Why this will be effective - Nearly everyone liked the old wilderness. Those who mine rune and such probably didn't, but I'm pretty sure they'll admit that a danger is needed to justify the value of what they're getting. Revenant monsters are not a danger. They're just pests. As for RWTs, I have suggested a way to take out money for gold trades. Money for item trades are hard to kill without greatly harming regular players, so I'll leave that for now. Trading Update: Same thing as Duel Arena staking. The value difference between what's being offered by each people must be less than 10+% (Number is subject to change, and could vary) of the greater value. The reason I said the number is subject to change and could vary is because at places such as Entrana, law runes for pure essence deals could be allowed, as long as the value of the pure ess is greater than 50% (Or so) of the laws being given. Similar things could be done at other places. As for how expensive drops could be split? I'm not sure if this would work, but...Lootshare would have a new option. Once the item is dropped, and collected by a member of the clan, a time-tracker would be placed on the item. The member that got it would have an option to automatically put that item on the Grand Exchange. When he puts the offer up, he will have the ability to decide how much goes to who. Instead of him getting all the money, the money will be distributed between the players he chooses, however he wants. The time-tracker will start at 5 minutes, and count down, telling the player every minute. Once the player runs out of time, the item must be sold regularly - How it is now. As for clans...For those that don't know, clan members often trade each other, doing something for nothing deals. (Usually stuff like food) Once a clan member has been a rank of Corporal or higher for 10 (Or something) days, they will get a small * next to their rank. This means they are eligible for free trade. Free trade is basically trading something for nothing. Why this will fulfill the original purpose - RWTs won't be able to trade something for nothing, unless they create a clan chat with the buyer, and wait 10 days. In which case, their dealings would be slowed down, and Jagex may be able to find them before then. As for regular, honest players, they shouldn't be harmed too much. We might take some collateral damage, but nothing as bad as right now. Dropping Update - Yeah. Um. I can't think of a way to get past this. I suppose a few things could be done... -Everything you drop ends up at Party Pete's, if it's worth more than 10K. -Everything you drop that's worth less than 10K stays on the ground, same as now. But still, no private drop parties. Find an unpopular world and go to Party Pete's? [/hide] So...That brings an end to this extremely long post. If I get enough positive feedback, and Jagex hasn't fixed it yet, I will post this on the official forums.
  12. There's a reason those things were put in what used to be the wilderness. Many of the non-PKing activities that could be done in the wilderness (Abyss RCing, rune mining, training on monsters there, etc.) were very effective, either in training, making money, or something else. Therefore, to make it not that easy, Jagex had to put it in the wilderness so players would have to worry about PKers while doing whatever they were doing. Now, without PKers to worry about, those things have become incredibly easy. Which I suppose is good for those people, but it kind of ruins the game. Good things are supposed to be hard to get. As for the suggestions, I support. I was going to post something similar, but you beat me to it. I still may make a thread, and if I post something that you also said, I'll half-credit you. (I'd probably make a few adjustments, so it wouldn't really be copying)
  13. Yeah, did you see the official thread made by Mod Mark? (I think it was him, I can barely get on right now) It was at 1200 pages last tune I was on. I'm guessing it's at about 2000 right now. Although most of it is about the wilderness, the new trading rules are still being talked about. I find 3K ridiculous. Maybe 10%, maybe even 5%, like the grand exchange. But no way 3K. This will harm clans, as clan members like to trade to share drops, give arrows/runes, food, etc. And I thought Jagex was beginning to like clans, after clan chat and clan wars. Although it's not really related, what I would like to see in the wilderness... Some worlds have the old wilderness. Some worlds have bounty hunter/clan wars. And I suppose some could possibly have both. Should solve everything.
  14. YES!!!!!!!! I supported this on the first page, and although I am no longer F2P, I'm still happy that this went through. I've supported this strongly ever since it was suggested and it's nice to see it made a difference! As for the people that said this would never happen - Oh well. You just got proved wrong. No hard feelings. If you're still around, and you read this, Prankster, we all owe a big thank you and congratulations. You started it, and now it's here. Yay. (I'm not all for the other updates though.)
  15. Bad, creating accounts for that is against the rules :S. But, uneven sets are a pain to have. I had to sell my extra full helm when the GE came out :S Another reason why more bank space should be added. If Jagex is all anti-rulebreaking...Then if they add more bank space, there will be no reason to mule, and less rule breakers, and Jagex will be happy. GE is a whole another topic...The sets are nice, if they add a (Plain) mage robe set, or leather set, that'll make it even better.
  16. I've played, in two different segments. Around March of this year, I started playing for the first time. At the time, it was China only. So anyways...I was an Ice Bicheon if I remember correctly. I started hybriding with Lightning and Force later on. I never reached level 20, I got bored way too fast. Then, a few months ago, in August, Europe came out. I started playing, as a Cleric, and had more fun than in China. I managed to reach level 20 this time, but by then, I was on the verge of quitting, and did before my first caravan. To sum it up...Silkroad is another of those kill and make money games. You do nothing else. Not even the quests offer a little variety. I haven't checked, but the China vs. Europe war thingy hasn't come out, has it? If not, then PKing is terrible. I suppose alchemy is kind of interesting, but until you get to the good boosts, it's not that good. I suppose thinking about it makes me kind of want to play again. Might go back for a few caravans once in a while. Edit: Oh yeah, forgot to say what server/names. Both are on Venice. Pausanias - Europe Penguin81 - Chinese
  17. You already can make mystic sets. I have a blue mystic set in my bank, and I'm pretty sure you can do it with all the other colors too. As for the cannon, yeah, why not. Not like it'd harm anyone.
  18. He already said Anarchy Online. I played that for a while, but I personally didn't find it that much different than your average grinding MMORPG. I suppose the sci-fi was a nice twist, but I found it much less addicting than games such as Silkroad. (It might just be me...) As for Silkroad, it's not THAT great. After RuneScape, I suppose you might think it's the best thing on Earth. Like most free MMORPGs, basically all you do is kill. The quests? Kill x of x. Caravans add a little fun, but still...Nothing much. Woohoo, you made a bunch of money. Now you can buy some stuff and kill some more. I found Europe much more fun than China. I was a cleric, and the fact that I didn't die made it pretty nice. As it was my first MMORPG after RuneScape, I thought it was addicting. I might be playing it still if I didn't get a few games in August. I guess 9Dragons might be better than Silkroad in a sense. It's basically the same thing, just a little different, and could be considered to have more variety. It's also a grinding game, so...Yeah... To be honest, RuneScape is the only MMORPG I've played (Okay, Club Penguin too...) in which you do something other than kill and make money. If you want sci-fi, go for Anarchy. If you want something with swords and older weapons, 9Dragons or Silkroad is my recommendation. If you want fantasy, I don't know. RuneScape is the only fantasy MMORPG I've played. There should be plenty other out there though.
  19. Eh, just adding on a little. There is also the incentive to get emotes. Many people would like the satisfaction of being able to do every [F2P] emote there is. These include ones such as the ones from Leo and the Mime. Back in my F2P days, I hung on to my zombie clothing, largely for this reason. I have never gotten a mime in my time of playing, but if I got one as a F2Per, I would've kept the clothing. Speaking of which... 1. I have unquit. I'm questing and making money, that's basically it. 2. Due to this unquittingness, and the questing, I have a huge build up of items. I have about a row left in my bank. >.< I guess it's time to get construction up for that costume room... So anyways, yes, that means I'm a member. Members support this. Amazing, isn't it?
  20. I quit a few months ago...My last world was world 6, my best. At one point, I was rank 100-something. (I was rank 39 on world 7 on the second day it came out, but that doesn't count) I was the duke of a branch of the best tribe in K56 (RFG), which later merged, and I was made a baron eventually. (If I remember correctly...) RFG became the number 3 tribe for a whlie (After GU and CHE!!!), and then disbanded. The disbandment was basically when I quit. (Last time I checked, former RFG members are now in AoJ and some in STACHE)
  21. First snow of the [school] year was today. I'm not exactly happy with it. It didn't accumulate, all it did was make everything wet. :x
  22. They also both use huge amounts of CGI. I read the English version a few years ago, thought it was decent. The movies definitely not going to be anything like it, but eh, if I get the chance, why not.
  23. If you're going there just to live like average Joe... well then of course. It's a completely different culture and language that most people are used to. The language is much more difficult to pick up than most others and don't expect everything else to be a piece of cake either. But if you've done your research and have some funds on hand, I don't see why it would be so difficult. Plenty of people from other countries have moved there with success. They tend to have more luck in the larger cities though, since those places are better equipped to assist them in the 'settling-down' phase. Or, you can just be Chinese. Over 1.6 billion people are (Including me). China doesn't need foreigners IMO, they would be able to last on their own. But yeah, if you manage to learn Chinese somehow, and know the culture pretty well, you can pass by. ÃÆæÃâ¹Ã¢â¬Â âââ¬ÃÅÃÆæÃâ¹ÃâÃâïÃÆäÃâøÃâíÃÆÃÂ¥Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åâââ¬Ã¹ÃÆäÃâúÃâú! (BlueLancer...Good luck with Chinese...I've been speaking it my whole life and I still don't know over half the language >.<) I'm not an expert in this kind of thing, but I'm pretty sure if China all of a sudden stops selling its goods to the USA, the USA would collapse, while China is selling the goods to Japan/India/Europe/etc. and still making money.
  24. :-s Just face the truth. China is taking over the world.
  25. I find it funny that you were agreeing with him a few pages ago. No hard feelings anymore though. And eh, as for your reactions to my idea. Stick in the limit fro P2P then. 4 or 5 boxes. 40 or 50 spaces. P2P does get that every few months. And a reason a box could be better is that it simply is simpler. There has never been a quest before in which the reward is bank space. There have been quests in which the reward is an item. I'm not sure, but I think it'd also reduce the space taken. And Jagex could make another quest. Not very likely, but eh...Does anyone know if F2P has ever gotten a new quest? And I think it's more like P2P getting 24-48 bank spaces every 6 months or so. If that's all the new "bank space" for the year, then that'd be good. Or, my idea is rubbish and I came up with it randomly. Probably that.
