Spread FireFox Download Day 2008! Opinions? Likes?
Eh, I didn't have time to download it on the day it came out, so I didn't help. I just downloaded it though, and it's awesome. I've been a Firefox user for a long time, and I like it much better than IE. Mlbfan, it might help if you actually installed the plugin, it's probably the same one over and over. I only got those messages on the first day I used Firefox... Firefox is safer, has better (And more...) add-ons, and just flat out looks better. The one thing I don't like is the fact that if you type something in the URL bar, it searches the entire address, not just the first letter. For example, if I hit "F", instead of TIF being the first one, it's the Firefox/Mozilla website, which starts with "M" (http://www.mozilla.org). I just downloaded a bunch of add-ons, and more to come...I don't really understand ImageBot, but I don't think I'd use it that much anyway.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Discussion Thread!
2 hours? I've been to my friend's house for 6 straight hours of Brawl before... I hate it and love it. It's awesome in multi-man brawls (As in the things in stadium). If I'm using Marth, and someone tries to do that to me, I'll just spam counter. I'll eventually knock it out of their hands and take it for me. If I'm not Marth, yep, you're basically screwed, unless you have good dodging skills. (Which I don't have) It can be really funny...I love sniping the ball. When I used Pit, I would just stay back and fire arrows at it, while everyone else would jump up and attack it. And I would always somehow get it. Now, as Dedede, I use Waddle Dee Toss to get it a lot. My friends are fighting over it...And then a Waddle Dee appears and I get it. Quite amusing. :D

What instrument do you play?
Today might be the last time I play a trumpet. I might continue playing random songs on my own (Such as pieces from the Lord of the Rings, those have plenty of trumpets), but otherwise, I'm done. I started playing because we were given the option of playing an instrument in band in fourth grade. The options were flute, clarinet, trumpet and saxophone. Flutes...Too girly? (Just kidding, my sister plays flute so I wanted something different) Clarinet...I don't know why not. Saxophone...My hands couldn't fit around it. So that left trumpet. I'm glad I made that choice. I think it was also because my friend chose trumpet too. As for piano, when I was five I had to follow along to my sister's piano lessons. One day, I decided that I wanted to play too, so I did. Haven't stopped since.

Will be getting a Wii soon, any advice?
Are you sure? I thought it only came with one controller? Only wanted Radiant Dawn because it was from the same series as Marth and Roy who were in Super Smash Bros. which I have for GC. It comes with a Wiimote + Nunchuk. Have you played Path of Radiance? I'm not sure what you meant in your last sentence, if you have SSBM or Fire Emblem: PoR. If you don't have PoR, you may want to get it, it's the prequel to Radiant Dawn. And just saying, Radiant Dawn is good, it's just somewhat hard. As for accessories, there's not much that you really need. You have enough storage space to last you for a long time, so you don't really need SD cards. However, in the package that I got, I was able to choose an accessory, and I got the Nyko Charging Station. It's really good in the long run, it saves you a bunch of batteries.

That kid that went to your school.
Some of these stories are hilarious, but it's kind of sad, most of these kids probably had/have some sort of problem. Mentally or at home, there's probably a reason...(I also find that a lot of these people have abnormal names. However, people at me love my extremely...Strange *official* name.) So, I'm just going to look through my yearbook...(AH SCHOOL IS OVER!!!) Will - Probably the least popular kid in school (Even more than the deaf kids... :o ), and mainly because of me. We used to be best friends in elementary school, then we backstabbed each other. Once I started hating him, everyone else did... Bijan - Obsessed with penises. He somehow found out how to say it in Chinese (Apparently "ji ba" or something, I didn't even know that...) and now he screams it in my ear all the time. The Anime Girls - Including Derrick. :) They're absolutely obsessed with anime/manga, they read it all the time during school, they talk about it at lunch every day, and they even have parties about it. I think they're doing cosplay next year... Cameron - One of my best friends, but slightly crazy. He carries his laptop around, and plays games on it during school. He's trying to set a few world records, and I watch him during lunch. He self-proclaimed himself the biggest nerd at school, I claimed myself the second, and he probably is the biggest nerd. We're probably the only two at school to know memes. Ben - He told everyone he got circumcised. Isaac - THE craziest kid ever. He says he has mental problems, and everyone believes him. He's pretty good at math, but he has no social skills. He takes off his socks during French, and he also licks his desk. Yaelle - She's too emotional. She's good at arguing though, but she can get really agitated. She also cares too much about her grades, she cries when she gets an A-. Tom - He doesn't stop reading. He reads all the time...Literally. He fell down the stairs once (And broke his leg >.<) because he was reading. Our band conductor also gets really mad at him, as he's usually reading instead of playing his french horn.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Discussion Thread!
...And the fact that there are two shield buttons helps, I guess... Whatever, to each his own. And no, I've played SSBM, I have it, I just didn't really get that used to the GC controller. Either that or I somehow adapted really easily.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Discussion Thread!
To be honest, it's just a matter of adapting. I'm sure you're very used to the Gamecube controller. At first, the Wiimote/Nunchuk was pretty hard to use, though I eventually realized I was better with Pit using that rather than a Gamecube controller. After that, I just kept using it and now I'm used to it, I might actually be better with them than a Gamecube controller. For someone who's never played SSBM before, the Wiimote/Nunchuk is just as good as a GC controller, minus grabbing. The only other problem I've thought of is taunting. It's a bit harder to the the side taunt, and in Wifi, it can be harder to send messages. It doesn't really affect gameplay though.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Discussion Thread!
Though I have three Gamecube controllers, I stick with the Wiimote/Nunchuk as well. I'm planning on reconfiguring the controls soon so grabbing is easier, which seems to be the only major difference. (Or...Not?) I use that combo for a few reasons...My friend only has two Gamecube controllers, so when we go to his house, I'm usually stuck with Wiimote/Nunchuk. So I might as well practice for then. Also, it's wireless (Except for the wire connecting them). I can play far away. Also, I'm not sure if my Gamecube controller wire can stretch all the way to the chair I usually sit on to play. However, the Wiimote by itself does suck. Oh well. I don't think many people use it.

Good games! Meh, not really sure how I was today...Constructive criticism? I have once again decided that Pit sucks. 0 KOs... And I still like Dedede better for FFA, though I'll admit he's decent in 1v1. However, as proven by my final battle against Caxis (He utterly destroyed me...) I'm probably better in FFA. By the way, general rules for me: -3 stock -I don't really care about the stage, though Final Destination is preferred -If Kent is playing, no items -If Kent isn't playing, generally only smash balls -If I'm bored, I'll turn on some *fun* items

Best TV ads
Let's see if I can get the Youtube tags to work...And this might have already been posted, I didn't have time to see all of the posted ones yet. zOpKFPEah3E There's better, but meh, I found this somewhat amusing the first time.

Smash Club.
:?: DDD is considered a very good char, but he has counters found from high to low tier... which is strange. Meh, it depends on who his opponent is. If it's someone like Ike, Dedede can easily win. If it's someone like Sonic or Marth, it'll be much harder.

Smash Club.
Skatedog, I'll add you sometime today or tomorrow, I'm pretty bad though. Bloodyhatchetbear, I still have yet to play you... Anyway, I have found a new character that I'm testing against my friends in real life, I'll take him online soon enough. For now, fear Dedede. Sort of. And Dedede is usually pretty bad for 1v1, decent for FFA though. I need to find a better 1v1 character...

How fast can you type? Play typeracer and find out
There was a thread about typing speeds not too long ago, but it was wiped by the rollback. I think I had either the third of fourth highest speed, over 600 characters a minute. : As for this, grammatical things such as periods, commas, and apostrophes really kill me, I'm down to 109 WPM. I'm using the name Luin Ithil, by the way, you might see me on the high scores. Edit: Wow. Just got 128 WPM, second on the high scores. ...And 141. Wow. It's because it's the fifth time I got that paragraph though.

Super Smash Brothers terminology guide! (Updated)
Nice, I learned some stuff. A few mistakes I found... Incomplete? You mean..."so the other player CAN'T recover"? The Ken theory is awesome by the way.

Heat related deaths
We had a pretty big heatwave here last week (In Massachusetts, the Boston area - Runescapeloser probably knows what I'm talking about... ;) ). Sure, it gets somewhat hot here during the summer, but before that, it was generally cool. We basically skipped spring. Anyway, there were some times when I got heat headaches, and I was also forced to get off my computer, since there's no AC in the room it's in. Though it gets much hotter in Taiwan. I have no idea how I survived it when I was little...Sometimes it gets 100+ F (37-38 C) for a week or two in a row, but there are a lot of air conditioners there. I love how I moved from a really intensely hot place (Compared to most...?) to one of the coldest places in America. The minimum I ever experienced in Taiwan was like 60 F (~15 C), the coldest here...Probably like -10 F, maybe even lower.

Guess the game
The guy with blue hair looks vaguely like Marth, so I'm just going to take a random guess - Fire Emblem. I'm probably way off.

Smash Club.
That's awesome. People playing with one hand are better than me (Using two). Back when I started using Marth, I thought very few people used him... Oh, how surprised I was when I found out that 3 of my friends used him as well... So Dedede it is (After a brief bit of Pit). In the official Brawl thread, there was something about the most anticipated new character, and while basically everyone said Metaknight, I said Dedede. And personally, Lenin, I don't think it's that I'm pretty good with Dedede, but rather you're not used to playing against him. Likewise, I've realized I've never really played against Wolf before, so I was at a loss at what to do. Anyway, I think I'm done with homework for the year, so I can get back to playing again. \

MSN vs Google Talk VS other
I mumble. Thus, I don't like communication verbally. I rarely use phones, only if someone calls me or if it's really important. (And my cell phone is a last resort) I can talk to face-to-face, but eh, unless I'm already with that person (For example, at school), I'll stick to e-mail/IM. So...A while ago, before Gmail was out, I used Yahoo!, for mail and for IM. But after Gmail, Google Talk...It's just too much easier, being able to chat out of the actual e-mail website. I've never really been a fan of MSN or AIM, though I may consider it if I get a new laptop, I have a few friends who use them. I also use Xfire, you might want to add that to your poll (If possible). It's perfect for while you game, which is quite often for me and my friends.

Smash Club.
Were you playing with one hand? :o At my friend's birthday party, we were eating pizza but didn't want to stop playing...So we played with our feet. Mega-failure. I was way off with my Marth, I can't even blame it on the lag...I just countered at all the wrong times. I don't even know why I use Pit anymore, I consider him to suck now. Sure, his recover is awesome, but that's not going to win for you... I plan on attempting to make Dedede my main, I want a bit more unique character. Too many people use Marth.

What did you get for your father?
I made a really quickly-made card for him using Photoshop. It sucked. I also got him a stuffed mouse (He was born in the year of the rat...), but nothing else. I was planning on sending him a e-card, but forgot. #-o

Good games Lenin, I think we're about equal. I got lucky a lot... :P I got dropped out twice, the second time was when I decided to stop playing. I hate the Mario Bros. stage by the way, stupid crabs...And turtles...

The future of the PS3 and the 360
And the 360 and PS3 use last generation controls. Your point? My point is that each console has its strengths and weaknesses, the Wii's strength is its innovation of motion controls, its weakness is the hardware. The PS3s strength is the Blu-ray (Graphics), the weakness is the cost, and a current lack of good games. I consider the 360 to be good all around, though it does have some weaknesses, such as being prone to hardware failures (RRoD FTL). And you really think all 25 million people that bought Wiis are fanboys?
-
The future of the PS3 and the 360
Are you serious? If I were to pick one console to be a "next gen console", it would be the Wii. Yeah, PS3s have Blu-ray, 360s are just good, but please explain to me how they're extraordinarily different from PS2s/Xboxes. I believe the most recent numbers are Wii - 25 million, 360 - 20 million, PS3 - 13 million. Looks like the PS3s in a hole, right? It really sucks right now, but I have to agree, in a few years, it will catch up to the 360. Probably not the Wii though, even though many people will buy PS3s for Blu-ray and the few good games that are coming out, many more people will buy Wiis. This thread is about PS3s vs. 360s, however, so um...Well, I'd say that generally, they're the same as systems. The only big difference is that PS3s are Blu-ray. It could be a deciding factor, it might not. As for games, what's the best-selling game for PS3s? MotorStorm? 3 million copies? Halo 3 is way ahead, over 8 million copies...As for the future, sure, there are a bunch of decent exclusives coming up, but there are just as many coming out for 360s...

Has anyone ever written a book?
Nope, never had, but I've kind of attempted. Never really got past page one... My internet was done for about a week a while ago, and most of my games rely on it, so I had nothing to do but play around with Photoshop. I created a few maps, and then started creating a storyline. It was pretty epic, and would have taken forever to finish writing. (Not really, would've probably been like 5 pages... :P ) The basic storyline was war-based, about five Dark Wizards from islands in "the Far East" invading a land of humans, elves, dwarves, fish-men, and an alliance of barbaric island men. It's kind of a shame, the maps were pretty detailed, and I would feel like I've accomplished something. Maybe I'll get started on it sometime this summer, I do need something to do. But um...I think I've written some really short stories for school, as well as "books" as projects, but never a fictional "novel."
