  1. It's a law of life. And I have like 11 hours...All solo though, except for like 30 minutes with my sister. I got Mewtwo (20 hours) in Melee by myself though, then I brought my Gamecube to a party and racked up another 20 hours that night. I plan on doing that again sometime, with Brawl though...
  2. What? There are an infinte amount of numbers between 1 and 2, are we now assuming you can't divide them? Or, am I reading you wrong, and are you seriously saying that .999... doesn't equal one? [which is a road I honestly don't want to go down again] No no no. I wasn't clear sorry. If there are an infinite number of numbers between 0 and 1 (The numbers I used in my examples) then there are an infinite number of numbers between 0 and .999... right? That means, no matter how many times you divide using my method, you cannot reach .999... or 1. Whichever you'd like to call it. And by the way, I know .999... = 1. ...What's your point? I don't understand what you're saying...I did the exact same thing you did, except I divided by 10, rather than 2. How does that make a difference? I don't know if I made myself clear, I was ADDING the numbers I got from dividing together, not just taking the numbers I got from dividing.

Heh. Infinite grabs with DDD. Learned that the other day, didn't use it though. If you ban deathgrab with Marth, to be honest, you might as well ban chaingrabbing in general. Isn't it basically the same? (I'm probably wrong, never really seen Marth's deathgrab but have heard plenty about it, not to mention DDD's) It should be allowed, but looked down upon. Like the suicide moves I mentioned earlier. They're allowed, but people won't like you for it... There's no way of making extremely fair teams, so I guess Caxis (Or whoever is hosting the tourney) will just have to pick names out of a hat. *Crosses fingers*
  4. I guess it's already been established, but here's my way of seeing it...(Might already have been posted, I read the thread a while ago, only got around to posting now) Instead of dividing by 2, you divide by 10, and go 9/10 of the way each time. So you get 9/10+9/100+9/1000... = .999... = 1 1...So they hit. Apparently. Well, fine, I agree that they technically don't hit, but close enough for the purposes of this thread.
  5. And you're the king of Tip.It? :o There's probably been stupider, but in science a while ago... Girl: Hey, there's hydrogen in CO2 right? She said "CO2", not "carbon dioxide." I might have understood if she said "carbon dioxide", but come on...
  6. That reminds me, apparently there's a book called epic... :-s And my mom wants me to get some books to read over the summer...I think I've made a good list using the posts from this thread, The Sword of Truth and Ranger's Apprentice are at the top. Wheel of Time and Pendragon are also ones I'd like to check out, but probably won't have time. Any other suggestions? I'm looking for fantasy, preferably with a lot of fighting. Can't really stand books where all that happens is talking.
  7. I reread it, it sounds all too familiar. Something kind of similar happened to me, except I didn't go as far as suicide, though I did think about it. (I would never do it though) I was going through a rough time, as a teenager...Prone to anger...I would get upset at little things, because I had problems in my life. (Okay, maybe not major problems, but meh...Not the point...) One day, my sister was watching TV, and I wanted to play video games to cool down. Somehow, we started arguing, then my dad came in and I argued with him, then I ran off to my room and hid. Not. A. Word. About me being emo...Even if you're trying to be funny...Because you wouldn't be... Sure, video games helped lead to it, but they weren't the primary cause. Either he had mental problems or had some big problems in his life (Ditched by girlfriend? Family problems? Bullied at school?). And his parents acknowledged that he was sensitive...Well...
  8. I'm confused. He bought a computer game...To play on his Wii? I'm probably jumping to conclusions here, but it doesn't sound like he talked to his parents that much about it. Maybe about anything. But yes, I'm quite sure he didn't kill himself just because of this. He probably had other issues in his life...Whether they were justified by suicide, who knows, probably not... Still sad though.
  9. I'm not the most popular guy in school, but I have a good handful of friends. I find that to be what's saving me, people are afraid that if they bully me, my friends will stick up for me, and I have friends you don't want to mess around with. : Still, I've been bullied, by flat-out idiots. When I was younger, in elementary school, I told teachers, but I eventually found out that did absolutely nothing. The teacher would just ask the bully if he did anything, he would say no, and that would be the end of it. So I started sticking up for myself, fighting back. I adopted the idea of fighting fire with fire, outsmarted the bullies, utilized my agility, and basically got everyone else to notice. While bullies tend to do it for the attention, if people notice that a small nerd is fighting back successfully, the bully will be ridiculed until they're the one being bullied. No one bothered me for a few years after that, but they've started to come back, and I've just ignored them. I'm naturally quiet, so it hasn't been that hard...It's worked, I think, as if you haven't guessed, they got tired of it and stopped. Took a while, but worth it, in my opinion. Anyway, if you do end up fighting, I personally would never attack first. Though it could be advantage, if you end up surviving and end up having to talk with a teacher, you could always pull the "He started it!" excuse. :| But honestly, to be blunt, the simplest solution is to make it so there's no reason to bully you. Don't piss people off, they normally won't piss you off. (There are exceptions, but usually those people are hated by everyone) I'm not saying bend to peer pressure and join the popular cliques, but it wouldn't hurt to have a few good friends who will back you up, and can scare off bullies. Normally, the really popular people will be willing to be friends with basically anyone, so it could be worth a shot. And I don't mean to have them as a bodyguard, but to just have them there...Just in case... I could be giving you terrible advice, as my school has been known to be extraordinarily weird, but it's worked for me, it might work for you. If absolutely none of this works, take it to the highest authority possible, probably not police, but at least principal or housemaster, or whatever you have. Parents too, if you feel that you can share it with them. Good luck.

If not established yet, yeah, keep the tournament here. And double-elimination...Yay. Sounds good, I'll be gone during the first two weeks of August so hopefully it won't be then. I just realized I haven't played my friends in a month, so that's probably why I'm not as good anymore. (Either that, or all of you got better...) And I probably won't for a while, they're all off gone somewhere. So that means I only have you guys to play. 1v1s, FFAs, fun matches, serious ( :ohnoes: ) brawls, I'm up for it...I can get on basically any time...Just post here, I'm not going to sit in front of my Wii all day at the Friend Roster screen.

Meh, I made a bunch of mistakes, I kept F-smashing when I was trying to F-tilt, Super Jumped when I didn't have to, and messed up my grabs. I got lucky. Lucky from Gordos, you Fire Wolfing (Or whatever it's called) into my smashes or off the edge... And I'm not sure if you know, but you can reflect Gordos. For the future. I can get back on later, I suppose, if anyone (else) wants to Brawl. Of course, I can play you again Lenin... ;)

I send Waddle Dees. : I think Lenin won, 3-2. Not sure. Really close games, all of them... The ending to one of the games was epic. Both of us were on our last lives, at high damage, able to KO and be KOed. Lenin starts shooting his ray gun thingy at me, I throw Waddle Dees to absorb them. He gets closer...I fall off the edge, while throwing a Waddle Dee. Not enough time to recover, I die. Another one ended in Sudden Death...We spent 8 minutes... I used the infamous Waddle Dee that Mac and I discussed. \

Uh, sure, I guess I can go on now. Good luck?

Super Dedede Jump can [bleep]e, but it's impossible to aim and extremely easy to avoid. It happens though. And yeah, I found out about their awesomeness in Super Sudden Death a few days ago, now I've won every single time I've been in one on Wifi. And want to do a Dedede vs. Dedede later? Maybe after my fights with Lenin? Speaking of which, my dad wants me to do some video thingy soon, hopefully I can get it done... :|
  15. ThurinEthir replied to Caxis's topic in Off-Topic
^^ Refresh it. My best is Dedede (Or at least I'm going to try to make him it), second is Ganondorf, third is Falco and fourth is Zelda. And yeah, all Dedede really needs is a good [bleep]e. He has one of the best recoveries, and since he's heavy he's hard to kill...He has some really strong, but slow moves, as well as some quick, long range ones. He also has Waddle Dee Toss which is my favorite move in the game, not to mention Inhale, which allows for Regicide/Dededecide, which is awesome. He has great grabs, and probably has the best chaingrab in the game. (Longest grabbing range, I think) And he's a penguin. With a hammer. That can be mechanized. Since I mentioned Regicide earlier, I have a question about these suicide moves. (You know, the ones where you die, but so does your opponent...) What do you guys think of them? Are they bad sportsmanship? Are they as much a technique as say teching? Are they allowed in tournaments? If you use a character that has one of these moves, do you use it? I won't use it in tournaments like the one here, but in ordinary matches, especially against my friends, I'll throw it in once in a while. And while I was playing as Ganondorf yesterday, I was using Flame Choke to recover and I Ganoncided by accident. And we were both on our last lives...Sudden death... :o
  16. I forgot about this thread...Wow...The Brawl Club took over... :P 1. If you mean the levels called "Subspace", there's two of them. There's also a level called the Great Maze, which you've probably heard about it. It's great. And it's a maze. 2. If you mean while selecting your characters, holding down shield while pressing A/select should work. Otherwise, yeah, try Down-B during gameplay? 3. Tabuu isn't hard at all in SSE, unless you're doing it on Intense. Which you probably aren't. You get 6 characters, so yea...Usually, using your best characters is ideal, but since Tabuu is in the air most of the time, you may want to pick characters with good aerials. And Charizard is also good, Rock Smash can annihilate bosses. Tabuu doesn't have that much HP...More than all the other bosses, I think, but still not that much, especially considering you get 6 people to kill him with. If you don't think you can do it on whatever level you're on (Other than Easy), then after you lose the first time, you can switch to an easier level. I did it on Hard, and I suck...

...At least I know he has potential. I need to learn how to grab better though, I think that's one of the best things about him... I'm going to completely redo my sigs later, I should've listen to Mac (I think?) when he warned me to not make it to early, as my characters would change. Was he right...I don't even use Marth anymore, and he was my main a month or two ago. Seriously though, DDD and Ganon FTW. Heavyweights are awesome, my specialty to be honest. (It's kind of weird, in games like Soul Calibur and Super Smash Bros., my best characters tend to be the big strong, slow guys, but I prefer to use quick, agile people.) And Lenin, sure, I think I should be available at 7:30. If you don't see me on then, wait a while, I'll probably be on by 7:45. If not, then I'd probably have posted on here, so just check.
  18. I love that stuff. I stick it on basically everything. =P~ I love fried rice too, but... [hide=] Wasabi peas. :[/hide] And a drink... [hide=] Yes. Water.[/hide]
  19. Lyk srsly? My sister never practices (Or does she?), and she's the best flutist in her school, and one of the best pianists too. I guess she's motivated/dedicated though...She loves music... (But yes, practice makes perfect. Usually.) Anyway, I would either want a lot more courage, or athletic talent, probably the ability to run pretty fast. As shown from the phobia thread, I have a lot of fears, and I don't take that many risks...Courage would help. If I were able to run faster, not only would I be able to join my friends on the track team, but I would be decent at a handful of other sports as well.

So, Lenin, what time tomorrow? I'd prefer for it to be at night, but it doesn't really matter. And I've gotten a lot worse, so I'll probably lose... :(
  21. ThurinEthir replied to Caxis's topic in Off-Topic
I was surprised when I saw it, now I kind of have a chance. :) My grandma is staying with us for a few weeks, and well...All she really does is watch TV. I guess I can ask her to stop once in a while though...So yeah, Monday should be fine.
  22. You should've asked for no bread, I wonder what she would've given you...
  23. ThurinEthir replied to Caxis's topic in Off-Topic
Heh...Did you do it randomly? Because from what I've gathered, Ginger and Manoman are probably the best two here (Other than Kent... ), and they happen to be playing each other...And Lenin and I have both acknowledged that we're at about the same level, among the worst that signed up for the tournament...And we're playing each other. While big tournaments can be fun, small tourneys are so much simpler...Good luck to all! And Lenin, I haven't played in a while, so I could use a day or two of practice, we can set up a time after that.
  24. 1. I just played 22 brawls, it was simple. And some of the challenges are like "Use DK 20 times in a Brawl", so I cleared those out of the way at the same time. If you lose, just play another brawl...You should be challenged again. Or you can wait until you get him in SSE. 2. What do you mean by "The new peoples"? Are you describing a mode, or what? Referring to yourself? Generally, the reward for most things is a trophy...You can check in the Vault, under Challenges, if you have an adjacent box unlocked. 3. Not Link. Wait until you get Toon Link, he's way better, but basically the same. I personally would wait until you finish SSE, as well as unlock all the characters...You get to play as most of the characters in SSE, so you'll most likely find someone you like through there. I think Marth, Toon Link, Olimar and Game and Watch are supposedly the top tier characters, but tiers really don't mean that much to me. For beginners, I'd try Mario to find out what you're good at (Apparently he's average at everything), then find a character suiting you. Or as Ginger suggested in the Brawl Club, use Pikachu and hold down A. If you're not a beginner, you should already have an idea of who you'd like to use...
  25. Yeah, I've been waiting for this thread too. I was going to make it if no one else did. I got out two weeks ago, had a day off on Friday. Then last week...I helped out at my church's annual VBS (Basically a camp). I think I got sick from exhaustion, allergies, the heat, and first graders. This past week has been more relaxing, I think I've stayed home the entire time. :geek: Anyway, at first I wasn't looking forward to summer (As shown by a few of my posts), but now I guess it's fine. My laptop arrived a few days ago, so I'm spending most of my time online, like usual...I've found a few games to try out, and I've decided to attempt to learn some programming language. (Inspired by a topic here...) I'm doing some work around the house too, to "pay off" this laptop, as well as my Wii. My dad is also forcing me to exercise more, but it's for my own good, and the rewards could be nice. I'm running a mile a day, until I leave for Taiwan at the end of July. I'm staying in Taiwan for two weeks, visiting relatives, old friends, the hospital where I was born, historic places that look like they're out of video games (Dynastic Warriors... ), and just relaxing. The plane ride there and back suck, but it's worth it...After I get back, it'll be basically my birthday. Yay. Then I have to take a math test, because I'm attempting to skip a year of math. Then...The school year starts. Great. I've yet to hang out with my friends, but that's partially due to the fact that Forecastfox (Accuweather) is screaming "Severe weather alerts" at me 24/7. We got a hailstorm yesterday, and power was out for over 5 hours...Anyway, I'm sure I'll get together with them for some tennis/basketball/Brawl/Soul Calibur once in a while...And yes, there's the girl. E-mailing each other for now... [/longpost]
