You get 1% production efficeincy for a land province. So, essentially you just lost 10,000,000 of your budget for the next 10 years. But on the plus side most of your nobles have taken off, so you don't really have to deal with them anymore. You do have vast swaths of land that will descend into lawlessness pretty quickly though, since there are no longer people to keep order within it (was part of the nobles' duties). 100 Russian nobles move to the Netherlands, bringing along their armsmen, who are given to serve in the Dutch army. Netherlands + 2000 lancers Err latin. Well, um. Nobody really speaks Latin anymore except for priests.

Informed of this monstrous army coming at them, all of the rebel nobility’s mercenary forces quickly deserted, causing morale to drop significantly. However, Count Tamás quickly rallied his troops and prepared to meet the Russian forces. The Russian army that arrived was in good order, but the Polish regiments who had been brought into Russia to help had taken severe casualties due to harsh winter conditions that they were unprepared for (3,000 Polish lancers dead). Nonetheless, the Imperial Army greatly outnumbered their foes, and both armies deployed in the open steppe surrounding Moscow. The Imperial army surged forward led by General Generic (lol), advancing in column so as to overawe the opposing army’s troops, coming forward like giant fists to smash into the nobility’s thin line. Over 10,000 Russian and Polish cavalry flanked the advancing column, as roundshot from the artillery behind soared over their head and smashed into the nobility’s line, dwindling their numbers even further. Unfortunately, even this display of might was unable to force the rebel army to retreat without a fight, and so the regimental flags went forward. The 20,000 Russian line infantry finally came within range of the rebel nobility’s line, and the musket duel began. It was an even fight, as though the Russian army outnumbered the nobility’s, the decision to deploy into column meant that their numerical advantage could not be pushed. The columns halted in the face of such opposition, and deployed into a thick line while under fire. It looked as if the rebels would be able to drive the infantry off, but Colonel Nowak, a Polish cavalry colonel convinced General Generic to commit his cavalry force to the battle. The Russian and Polish cavalry stormed towards the rebel’s thin line, and were met by the rebel nobility’s lancers and hussars that had been held in reserve. It was a bloody battle as both cavalry forces slammed into one another, but after heavy fighting the Russian and Polish cavalry managed to fight the rebels off, and the rebel infantry was forced to wheel into square, giving the Russian infantry a chance to advance again. Their order was lost in the heavy musket duel, but they charged forward with a cheer, bayonets fixed. In square, the rebel army found it completely impossible to hold off the infantry, and they soon broke against the pressure and fled, pursued by the Russian and Polish cavalry. Count Tamás himself was captured, and was brought before the Czaress for punishment. Result: Tactical Victory – Russia/Poland Strategic Victory - ? Nothing really. That was pretty much the last thing that kept nagging at me to come back to RS. After this month's membership is up I'll probably be gone again.

It'll be a historical event. Basically right now you're just trying to spread the revolutionary activity to different provinces (by doing whatever you think might be able to do that), and then once you get over 1/2 of continental France experiencing Rev activity, then you can declare the country Revolutionary France and challenge the royalists for control. Might be a good idea to wait a bit after that though so that you have enough troops. News from the USA: Also, Karl Schultz army has been defeated by the Prussian National Army, but Schultz himself escaped and is hiding somewhere in Pomerania. The Prussian army was at first suffering from counter ideas from the two general's in command of the army, but General Clauswitz was given overall command (including the two bickering generals) and finally forced his plan. The Prussians were on even numbers with the Revolutionary army by a fair bit, and with the revolutionaries lacking any sort of cavalry or cannon, they were ripped apart fairly easily. It has created a slight bit of grumbling about what radicals have deemed to be 'wanton murder' by Prussia's leadership.

And I'm feeling a bit under the weather, so no in depth writings about the events, just short summaries: -Prussia accepts the peace deal proposed by Mecklenburg. 5,000,000 ducats transfered to the Prussian government, and a non-aggression pact signed between the two states for 5 years. -Portugal declares war on Austria-Hungary over its encraochment on territories in Australia that the Portugese government believed should belong to them. -Portugal sails an army of 7,000 men over to Australia and attack the Austrian colonies there. -Austrians retreat, Portugal takes over two of the colonies, and Austria raises its colonial militias to supplement their army that was in Australia. Portugese army in Australia: 1k dragoons, 1k lancers, 2k fusiliers, 3k line infantry//2 two deckers, 2 frigates Austro-Hungarian army in Australia: 1500 Imperial Guards, 2300 Curisassers, 3000 colonial militia -Comanche army attacks British colonies in the American Mid-West -British respond in full force with two combined armies numbering over 15,000 strong] -Comanche war chiefs see this, and retreat after losing 2,000 cavalry -Native corpses are burned to prevent contamination Cost of British deployment is around 2.9m

France: Provinces experiencing Revolutionary sentiment: French royalist government has insofar been very slow at responding to the crisis, and most simply dismiss it as a bunch of angry peasants. (If it comes to a fight, Revolutionary France can currently pull together 2,000 skirmishers)

Prussian invasion of Mecklenburg Summer, 1780 Prussia invaded the independent German state of Mecklenburg on February 8th, 1780. Mecklenburg quickly mobilized its army and raised 3,000 new militia troops, and so did its ally Bremen, combining the two into a force of over 15,000 strong with 10 cannon. By comparison, the Prussians were invading with an army of 15,000 and a single cannon. Numerically the Mecklenburg-Bremen army seemed to be superior, but its troops quality was lower, and they were facing off against the iron discipline of Frederick the Great’s successor army. The two met just on the border between Mecklenburg and Pomerania, a narrow field flanked by two large forests. The Prussians advanced in two parts, the first part commanded by General Von Santa Klaus (Offensive Doctrine) and the second commanded by General Mannerheim (Disciplinarian). The Mecklenburg infantry waited, blocking the narrow field, while the Mecklenburg cavalry had complete control over the woods, and waited to the Prussians to advance. The cannonade started as the Prussians moved forward, spurred on by their General’s words, and the single Prussian cannon spat back its feeble response before being targeted by the Mecklenburg cannons and had its limber shot apart. The Prussian cavalry, only 1500 strong, guarded the flanks of the advancing Prussian columns. The Mecklenburg line marched forward, eager to get the fight over with and send the Prussians running home. The two lines marched steadily towards eachother, their battalion flags fluttering in the minds and the drums beating the beat of the damned. As they got closer, the Mecklenburg cannons started firing canister, but were forced to stop as the gunner crews feared they might hit their own troops in the rear. The Prussians got the better side of the engagement, as they were able to wrap around the flanks of the Mecklenburg line and punish the militia units holding the flanks severely. General Klaus finally ordered his cavalry forward, recognizing that if he could break the militia troops on the flanks then the Mecklenburg line might just crumple entirely as had happened with the Croatian army just a few months previously. The cavalry stormed forward, lancers and sabres held forward, and the Mecklenburg General responded by sending his full cavalry out from the woods. This was the flash point, as the Prussian cavalry was caught off guard by the speedy attack of the Mecklenburg cavalry, and barely managed to withdraw in time. The Mecklenburg cavalry, now wild with bloodlust, turned towards the Prussian infantry and charged forward. The Prussians were still in line, and they believed they could simply ride over them, but the Prussian officers saw the cavalry charging forward, and despite the fact that they were taking heavy fire from the Mecklenburg infantry line, the regiments wheeled expertly into square, just barely making it in time [Discipline bonus. If you had lost this roll you would’ve lost the battle]. The Mecklenburg cavalry was almost entirely slaughtered within a quarter hour. Unable to attack the stoic Prussian squares, they rode around them while the Prussians poured musket fire into them and they fled. The Mecklenburg militia units, seeing the cavalry fleeing from the Prussian infantry broke as well, and fled. However, the Mecklenburg regulars and artillery kept their composure and withdrew in good order. The Prussian infantry was too tired to pursue, and any time the Prussian cavalry came forward the Mecklenburg infantry formed square with the cannons protected inside and drove them off, killing a fair number of lancers. Mecklenburg is trying to raise more troops to challenge Prussia on the battlefield again. However, it has offered Prussia a peace deal. They will pay Prussia 5,000,000 ducats if they leave Mecklenburg and sign a non-aggression pact for the next 5 years. You can raise 2,000 militia troops from your new colonies. You can push for 3,000, but they'll be crappier quality. Militia units are free to raise (but you can only raise them when they're protecting their homes...and they're essentially cannon fodder).
