I'm guessing the invasion of Ireland? Anywho, Greece sends a warning to Britannia. Weee free call to arms if you declare war on someone.

Well, if it's present day we start off at then Poland is prime for the picking, considering their entire political elite were just killed in a plane crash. AHA RUSSIA!

Which originated from Latin... Or are you saying that Latin is Norwegian?
  11. Nero replied to archimage_a's topic in Falador Tavern
Mather, the ash is not norse in origin. Christ man, we've provided you with a litany of sources, and all you respond with is words in norwegian that include the ash, as if that's some sort of definitive proof. 'Look it's cold outside, global warming must be false!' Anecdotal evidence =/= scientific evidence.

Not only are you not providing a source, but that image is meaningless to the discussion as well. -- Greek army still being built up. Annexation of Bulgaria begins.
  13. Nero replied to archimage_a's topic in Falador Tavern
Straight from wikipedia. The ash is a saxon letter. It's used in Norway, but it didn't originate from there. I didn't say it was Norwegian, I said it was of Norse origin, and Saxon was Norse too. Wikipedia, again. No they weren't.

Anymore? You were never part of it.. Hehe, I showed those ones to you. Straight from wikipedia. The ash is a saxon letter. It's used in Norway, but it didn't originate from there. -- My vote for a system goes back to the GDP. Honestly, the only person who found it objectionable was Arch. -- Country: Greece Player:Dusty668 Leader Name: Miltiades National Anthem: Wall Breached Random Fact: The term 'marathon' in modern context came from the legend of a Greek soldier, who, after the Battle of Marathon, ran all the way back to Athens to deliver news of the Greek victory, so that the city did not surrender to the Persians coming by sea if they managed to get there before the Greek army arrived. Greece (re?)institutes 2 years of mandatory military service for men aged 18-30.
  16. Nero replied to archimage_a's topic in Falador Tavern
It's an ash idiot. You're not even Saxon. -- Greece starts production on APCs and some light/medium tanks. Should have around 100 APCs and 25 tanks done in two years.

How is that at all /thread? -- Doom, let Hex build his silly elephant hunting gun. If he ever uses it in a war against anyone he'll get mauled to death anyways, since you can only fire like 1 bullet per minute with those things.

Greece guarantees the independence of Japan, and will come to its aid if the United States attacks it.

My first act is to begin research on a new lineup of personnel weapons, as well as improved body armour. Improvements to the the roads and infrastructure of Greece has also begun. If we start without a military, incentives are given to join up. Projected monthly gain of new recruits in pegged somewhere around 6-8,000.
  20. What a surprise  I expect you'll also start off by researching AI and exosuits, yes? Zz -- I will be taking Greece.
  21. Because it's worked so well in the past hasn't it...What with the page after page of argument....People not reading and giving up because actually its boring as hell to read through an argument that goes nowhere(though quite fun when you write it, if you look at the below*) [hide]Anywho, magic... Well you would just summon some sort of magic resistant monster...Dragon for instance... Honestly, its just the same as 'Technology'...I build a massive laser and shoot your 10,000 man army. I drop a bomb which kills 10,000 people. I launch a missile that kills 10,000 people. I train 50 soliders with massive lasers and kill 10,000 of yours. I release a virus that kills 10,000 of your people. I crash a spaceship into your city and kill 10,000 people. I hook a generator to the Effiel Tower and zap 10,000 of your people. Only real difference is that you can switch from 'I build a tank with ablative armour and multidyne tracking softpoint countermeasures with laser-guided anti-missile-missiles.' to 'I summon/train an Orc with a hatchet' Or you switch from 'I launch three ICBMs with a FOAB duct-tapped between them' to 'I summon a thunderstorm over your city.' The PM system means that, instead of 'If you do that I do this', it means 'You have done this so I do this to stop it.' 'Thunderstorm kills 3,000 people but then is dispelled', 'Fine, I retalitate against A with a giant fireball of death' 'Fireball destroys a vital bridge and stops troop movement in this area' 'Awesome' makes a much better exchange than: *'I launch my nukes, well I launch my countermeasures, well I launch more nukes, well my countermeasures intercept them, my missiles are stealthed, you can't have stealth missiles, I can, No you can't, I still get past your countermeasures, no, I did, no they are invincible! No thats unfair, well they can intercept a billion missiles, fine I launch a billion and one missiles, omg you don't have that many missiles, no but your tech is stupid, no its awesome, no its stupid, look clearly you don't understand the horse and cart, that analogy is completely irrelevant, no, yes, no, yes, my missiles blow your capital up, no they got intercepted, no they blew your capital region up, I blew up your captial!, what?, yeah with a billion missiles, you don't have a billion missiles, neither do you, fine I have a billion strong defence, no!!!!! I REVEAL 43526436234623452355 TROOPS IN YOUR CAPITALS!!!!! OWNAGE. [/hide] It would depend on how childish people wanted to be...since 'magic', like 'technology', can blow anything up if you have enough of it...if people are going to research 'NOOB ATTACK' weapons then, obvouisly, the game is going to fail. Most of the stupidity with technology you stated was people either A. goofing around, or B. For some reason green-lighted by the moderator (ahem, you). The magic [cabbage] is stupid, "oh lets fly dragons around and shoot fireballs out of our [wagon]". Nty that doesn't interest me in the slightest. And this: Could be applied in exactly the same manner to your posts about bridges and fireballs, lol. It's not like as soon as magic is introduced everyone suddenly becomes reasonable.
  22. Hex, you completely ignored all of us when we said a new hegemony at this juncture wouldn't be accepted. Don't be surprised when this gets locked.
  23. Magic always ends up making everyone powergame even harder is mostly why I can't stand it. That and it's silly. 'I attack you with 10,000 soldiers.' 'I cast a fireball and kill them all.' '...' Silly silly. You can defend an empire with 2 guys with sticks and long beards.
