  1. Ah, generalizations. I know what happened to my Thieving skill. I don't want that to happen to Slayer. Remember me? :P
  2. This is an idea that came to me for an interesting minigame similar to Slayer. You know how in the white knight quests, you keep gaining rank? Well it wouldn't make sense to keep being subordinate to Sir Tiffy, would it? The higher level temple knights are the ones to order people around, and while they still do missions, they do them for another topic. Jagex I'm sure has plans for the rank above Proselyte - Acolyte armor, equal to rune with prayer bonuses, et cetera. But this is a suggestion for a harder quest along the line. So here's the quest to advance from Acolyte rank to Partisan rank. Once you reach partisan rank, you take missions for Saradomin, which will be explained later. Quest Requirements - 75 Prayer - You're going to get the highest rank possible in the Temple Knights. You will need more for the minigame, of course. - 75 Defense - They don't want you getting the best prayer armor without having a good defense. - 65 Agility - Assassination! - 65 Thieving - Saradomin loves his thieves! - 60 Herblore - Special Poisons Quest Summary You go to Sir Tiffy and he congratulates you on becoming an Acolyte. He eventually reveals that the way to get to Partisan rank is to complete enough missions to convince at least 10 Partisans to vote you in, without having any votes against. Some knights will be completely dead-set against you, and those are the ones you have to do crazy things for. Some will be on your side already. Savant will vote for you no matter what. So will Sir Tiffy. There are six knights, however, that you will have to get on your side. Sir Tainly: Interrogation. He is looking for his apprentice, who vanished without a trace. His apprentice was described as a relatively young woman, and he will not vote for you unless you find her. You're given no clues other than the fact that the random black knight in Draynor will mention that she was seen being dragged past him, from the wizard's tower. Eventually, with the ring of Charos, you figure out where she's kept, where you have to bust her up. She has some healing magic, however, and it's the finding part that's difficult. Sir Vyvin: Take a guess. He asks you to bring a phial of Mithril Dragon breath. There is a wounded Mithril dragon in the Mithril dragon cave, and you can use the phial with it. However, any teleportation will break the Phial, so you have to survive getting out of the cave as well. Survival, indeed. Sir Gerry: Healing mission. You are asked to send reinforcements to a Temple Knight, who was in the Elite Black Knight fortress, but sent out a distress call. Fight your way in, or use the Elite armor to walk through. Give him his food, then either give him a set of Elite Black (You do lose it, so it gets expensive), or just fight your way out with him. You can also be clever and wear the Surok robes to escort him out. Sir Name: Spying. After some banter about his name - pissing him off even more, you're asked to go figure out something that the Black Knights are planning. So you disguise yourself as Surok, get paperwork, and that's all done. There might be some other things that you have to do. Sir Chin: Searching, obviously. You are given a list of interesting things, each of them being a part of a quest line. Like robes from Rocking Out, or a Magic Essence potion from Fairy Tale 2. Each of these should be pretty hard. Sir Cular: Exploration. You're asked to find a place to put a Saradomin Altar where it will be used a lot. You scope out a few locations, but the best one is by Barrows. Should breathe some life into that game if you no longer need prayer potions there! You create it using the construction skill, and that finishes the quest off! After all the tasks are done, there's a cutscene giving you Partisan armor - Level 65 Defense-wise, plus prayer bonuses. Partisan does include a pair of gloves and boots, however few people will want to wear them as they give no offensive bonuses, just prayer. You also notice that a flash of holy fire appears on the Falador Castle prayer altar. This is detailed in the next section. Rewards - Full access to Temple Knight weaponry - Access to White Knight Mission Minigame - 50k Hitpoints XP - 20k Agility XP - 20k Prayer XP White Knight Missions This is the crux of the suggestion - a true high level minigame, with elements of Temple Trekking, Kingdom Management, and Slayer. Intrigued? Read on. Saradomin is your leader, and as you have the highest Temple Knight rank, you now can take missions that come from the word of god - literally! There are two types of missions, solo and team missions. Team missions are detailed a bit further, but when you approach the altar of Saradomin, you can choose which mission you want to take. You have to balance your missions, but they do not have to be taken turns. IE, you can do 3 team, 1 solo, and then another team. Your average should always be close to even, however. There is a mission rank, and as your rank and prayer go up, you receive harder and harder missions, with better rewards, too! Solo Mission Types - Assassination: You are given a specific NPC target. Once you are within one screen of them, the scenario becomes instanced. It's never an important NPC, but there are various black knight named NPCs created for this game. In the assassination instance, you have the option to charge in (Agility), to poison the food (Herblore), to Teleblock and Attack (Magic+Range), or to slit their throat (Thieving). All of them can be failed, but the higher each level is, the better success. If you fail, they usually teleport away, giving you a failed assignment, subtracting from your Mission Rank. - Exploration: There are a few "Altar Building" spots that help you out greatly. If you get assigned to build an altar there, you have to have 75 Construction (Stews can't be used), and a permanent altar is built - only for you. This is a great bonus, and while it counts as a mission success, the altar itself is the bonus. After all spots have altars, you no longer get these. - Infiltration: You are told to infiltrate the Elite Black Knight base, and to either destroy some paperwork, or falsify some data. You can get caught, unlike in the Quest and in WGS. Team Training Once you're a Partisan, you can train a team of White Knights to help you out in missions. This only helps during missions, but each of them has their own stats, that you can help train! You can have a team of up to three people, each of them having a randomly generated name, and they all start with 1/1/1/10 stats. Training them up is simple - you just go to the White Knight Training Ground - underground of the WK castle, and they will be there, training. Every day they gain about 100 xp in each skill if you do not help train them. This is a sort of distraction/diversion, I guess. If you do train them, they get the following xp: - Agility, 100 xp a lap. You get 25 xp. Unlimited laps possible. - Herblore, 100 xp a potion. You get 25 xp. You can only make up to 100 potions a day. - Thieving, 100 xp per pickpocket. You get 50 xp. 250 times per day. - Combat, 100 xp per damage they do. You get 10 xp. Unlimited times, but remember they're low level. - Magic, 200 xp per spell. You get 20 xp. Up to 100 times per day. - Range, 200 xp per bulls-eye. You get 20 xp. Up to 100 times per day. - Prayer, 1000 xp per day, 0 for you. Automatic. You do get to see all their level up screens, but they're unique, and congratulate you on your teaching skills. As you do more missions, and their stats grow, they gradually get better and better equipment. Once they reach about level 60 combat, you get a bonus of 20k prayer xp, and 10k xp in each of the other skills. Once they reach 80 combat, and 50 in each other skill, they leave your team and become Partisans themselves. You can see them and still talk to them, though, as you've probably become attached to them. After they become Partisans, you get a bonus of 100k prayer for each one that graduates. You also get about 10k xp in each of the other skills as well. It's technically possible to get them up to level 126, but that would take a lot of work and time. Watch out, too. If they die, they lose 50% of their XP in each skill. Team Missions - Slayer You're tasked to wipe out a nest of enemies. It's at a random location, and once you reach close to it, it's instanced. The limits for training do not apply during missions, but you're not allowed to interfere unless they're going to die. Once they're at 20% hp, you can attack, but this makes them lose hp. Remember, if they die, they lose 50% of their xp! However, all monsters target you once you're allowed into combat. - Escort It's basically Temple Trekking, except with modified rules to let your team fight. You're just observing until one of them reaches 20% xp, though. Same rules with death. - Team Assassination Same as solo, but typically easier. If they get caught, mission fail, but no other penalties. Rewards! - Massive XP. In case you haven't noticed, this is basically like helping train another character. You get 20-50% of the xp they earn, as well as bonuses for finishing their training. It might take a couple months to build your three characters to Partisan, but you would get a bonus of 400k prayer XP, as well as 30k in Herblore, Thieving, Magic, Range, Agility, etc. Definitely worth it for more determined players. But that's not it! Points Your Rank goes up and down based on missions, your team stats, whether you kill White Knights, et cetera. Your points, however, only go up until you spend them. They can be spent on the following things. - Blessing of Saradomin - Your next grave will last twice as long. - Saradomin Strike, Level 2 - An upgraded SS spell, that still works with charge. It is what the Wise Old Man uses, but only hits up to 40 with Charge. - Upgrades to your team - New armor and weapons, unlocking prayers, et cetera. It's a nice little strategy effort. All of them will have noticeable effect on how they fight. - Auto-Light Burners - Once added to your house, you can add up to 100 Marrentil to each burner (Noted is fine!) and they will automatically light if you use a bone on the altar, and it is not lit. You will never lose any xp this way! - Holy Shield Prayer - Level 80 Prayer, 25% immunity to all damage. Does not stack with Holy Fire. Piety x2 drain rate. - Holy Fire Prayer - Level 85 Prayer, 25% bonus to all damage. Does not stack with Holy Shield, Piety x2 drain rate. Unusable in PvP. - Holy Aura Prayer - Level 90 Prayer, 30% Def, 28% Attack, 25% Str, Does not stack with Piety, Piety x2 drain rate. Unusable in PvP. - Invulnerability - Level 95 Prayer, 100% Damage Reduction, can not attack. Does not stack with anything. Piety x4 drain rate. Unusable in PvP. End Please give feedback. :D
  3. Big achievement for me, although probably less so to most of you.
  4. Legends was ridiculously hard at the time. You're all spoiled, eating and drinking potions during combat!
  5. You convinced me that Wyverns and Turoth are great. However, nothing can avail me of the horror that is the Terrorbird! Nice guides.
  6. Then you're going to spend the rest of your days worrying and without being able to spend your cash. When I buy an item, I usually sell it that day so I don't lose money unless I plan on keeping it (Very few things I plan on keeping) but when I do keep them, I don't care about the loss. Pretty much every half decent item with good prices are merchanted, therefore the item you buy now that's going up, next week will probably have crashed and be unsellable. That's life, you must take risks. Buy the item's you feel you need, and when you're finished with them, be it a week/month check, you'll have probably profited. If not, then wait they're more than likely sure to rise again. To the topic creator, Ss's are merched quite frequently from what I've seen. Chances are, it'll go back up. I'm the exact opposite. Whenever I buy an item, I expect that the item will become worthless. I keep it for the item, and never sell any of the items I buy.
  7. You also get some health and prayer back Can someone confirm the HP and Prayer restores?
  8. Thanks for all the comments. =) The dragon meds were funny. I only got one dragon med ever before these, and that was from a black demon in classic. I got one of them from a fire giant, and the other two from mutated bloodvelds. =) I'm 78 slayer now, and I started gathering these at 76.
  9. Heh, everything in this tab was a drop from my slayer tasks or other things I killed in the meantime. All Duradel, 42 tasks done. Seeds are 4 snapdragon and 2 kwuarm. Edit: Added these: The price check is just from the slayer monsters. The dragon legs and halberd were from a pk that I got - best one ever. ;) I am level 78 slayer now. Hoping to get 80 soon. =)
  10. x-ing out still works.
  11. I always do penguins on Wednesday. Same with the Circus and Tears, and Kingdom every few days. I should start killing Bork and Vine more often, though.
  12. Better than 30ish or so. :P
  13. Second ingredients for Phoenix pouches.
  14. I still wear mine with pride, as I got 90 in classic. :P *grumbleplundergrumble*
  15. Level 72 Summoning. Attacks with Magic. Use special scroll on ashes to rebirth it, giving it full hp. That's what the phoenix said in the quest - no idea of other specials.
  16. The phoenix is level 235 and uses magic, I believe. Maybe I just got lucky that I didn't get hit. The phoenix needs 51 slayer to kill. Reward for the repeatable task is 5 quills.
  17. [hide=Reward][/hide]
  18. Yes. Except some would think that a good thing. ;)
  19. Oo'Glog Teleport This construction update will have a pun-filled, enterprising miniquest of an idea, to bring the positive marketing technologies of the mythical variety to enact positive reinforcement. Yep, you're going to have more headaches. The miniquest is simple - The woman from the Resort quest has an idea - why not have a teleport spot at the Spa? That would certainly bring in more business, and Wizards could just kip in and spend their money whenever they want. So, remembering your work in piecing together Clarence, she recruits you to bring the wizards and tell you to get the spot already! You go to the wizards, explain what you want, and eventually they tell you that while they'd love that teleport spot, they don't have the technology to punch a hole in the abyss. You realize that you know someone who does, and therefore you go and see the Zamorak Mage in the Wilderness, who directs you to Varrock to talk to him. You talk to him, and he is interested. He promises to help, but only if the spa is declared a neutral spot. You go back to the Spa, and get her agreement. Then you go to the Wizard guild, and they agree that they won't start any feuds with dark wizards. You go back to the Zamorak mage, and he gives you a teleport anchor, and sends you to ZMI to get it charged. They charge it for you, and send one of their recruits to watch it being put up - of course, he's eager to get to a spa on paid holiday time. Then, the Ogresses all want to watch you do your "Shiny Shiny," so they all gather, and the crystal triumphantly ... explodes. Everyone wonders, and the ZMI guy is quick to explain that it worked. All you have to do now is to try to teleport. He offers to try to figure out which runes you need, and promptly vanishes. The next is a humorous cutscene of him ending up teleporting all over the world, similar to My Arm's adventure. He teleports to Falador, where he's chased by the white knights. He teleports to ardougne - paladin attack. He teleports even to Ape Atoll, where the monkeys attack him. Eventually, he teleports back to the Spa, panting. The reward for this miniquest is the obvious Oo'glog teleport, as well as the ability to make a Oo'glog portal in your house. The Oo'glog teleport requires 80 magic (Yes, that high.), and takes two law runes and 10 air runes. Miniquest complete! Comments I like the idea of small miniquests to get interesting pieces of content, and the Oo'glog teleport seems like a very useful addition that we could get. It's a high level update, but it's optional - so those who don't want to do it don't have to. It also involves the Zamorak Mage in the wilderness, and anything involving the abyss has always been a miniquest. The last cutscene also came out of a funny vision I had of a young dark wizard being chased, cartoon-style, through various cities on the map. It would definitely fit the humorous tone of both the Jade Vine quest series and the Resort quest.
  20. I can slaughter dozens of level 60s without ever needing to eat, and I'm not even maxed out. How would this be difficult? The p2p one is a bit better. So these monsters would all be attacking you at the same time, with various combat styles? I see how that would work as a challenge, but a level 10 would not be fearsome, even if there's twenty of them attacking me at the same time. Perhaps make it so that the level 90 spawns two level 80s when it dies, the level 80s spawn two level 70s each, and et cetera. 1 90 2 80 4 70 8 60 16 50 32 40 64 30 128 20 256 10 This way, you'll be fighting a horde of monsters, and the order in which you kill the matters. Do you kill one 80 then all of its children, leaving the other 80 to keep attacking you? Or do you kill all the 80s first, to prevent some of that damage. It might even be interesting to have it backwards. You enter the room with 100 level 50s, and as you keep killing them, every two you kill combine and form into a monster 10 levels higher. Eventually it turns into one level 120. That would be a very hard challenge, even as a group.
  21. ... Say what? Doesn't this: "You do realise Juna's time hasn't gone up in about 8 months?" Contradict this: "each qp has just become less time value meaning by not doing new quests you get less time with Juna rather than getting more by doing quests" Even though the the quest points are decreasing in the time value as more & more quests come out, your maximum time still increases. & it makes sense that after you reach a certain number of Quest Points, each extra one after the certain amount will equal to less time. If Jagex converted each individual quest point into the "standard" time in the caves, people would be in there for over 5 mins + at a time. Thats enough to get well over 110+ tears (rough guess) at a time (with a laggy connection), which would give you a far too high amount of exp for just a few extra QP. My point was people who time it have found for past 8 months max qp gives same time Meaning new quest do not = more time with juna New quest = less time with juna unless you do it Also the average amount of tears most get is in region of 150 - 200 and it is a change because up until then each new qp gave you extra time with juna Where as now each qp is worth less and less time as the max goes up meaning you need more and more qp to get a gd time in there and you can only keep the current time allowance by statying up to speed on quests but you will not get extra time by there being new quests [/hide] I average 170 points per trip and its THE only way I gain RC xp. For that reason I'm wishing that the new mini-game is worth it xp wise, dosnt have to be like pp but should be dam close to get me intrested in RC training. pp is a joke 200k per hour, runecrafting the point is you work hard and you get paid highly, say 91-99 is about 260m profit... so this minigame should be like 10k xp most because if you want to train the skill then you get paid very well for it, if you want to powertrain well ZMI is 30-40k per hour, its fast, if they are going to nerf rc, then i want a slayer minigame next month that nerfs that also, and i want vinesweeper points to = 200 xp per because if you ruin one skill that is respected then they may aswell do them all Personally i dont enjoy slayer mining or agility but they have their benefits same with runecrafting personally why would the rcing guild be the death of rc Thieving was respected before plunder. So it's not like they don't have precedent.
  22. It limits you to only buying 100 or so at a time. I put an order for 1000 dreadfowl into the grand exchange, and someone else sold 500 to it, and got no sales. We then traded outside the exchange. :|
