  1. Truth be told, that's probably the best idea, checking the graphs on ge yourself. As was mentioned in another thread, there are decent moneymakers out there, but typically they work best when a very very few people know about them. And for myself I've never actually merchanted, most of how I've made money is from gathering stuff and reselling it.
  2. Exactly. Forget a gold sink, this game needs a goods sink. The economy as a whole cannot absorb the sheer amount of finished products produced while leveling.
  3. yeah I know, most of the stuff listed was kinda boring, but resource gathering can prove fairly profitable--if a bit of a grind. Also a possibility, shop grinding. Not a lot, but a few shops in f2p sell items for less then ge costs.
  4. Key thing to remember is that everyone uses 10 fish 5 flax/coal, so always check your prices before you withdrawl. I was lucky enough to have about 3 weeks of production saved right when the guthix quest came out, so I made some decent bank on the herb section. Maples trees are always iffy. The cost of maples from the kingdom, is higher then what they sell for--same for teak and mahogany but you have the advantages of possibly getting nests and tree seeds. Swordies take a bit longer to sell, they one might expect them to. The advantage to fishing is the chance for casts, keys and clue scrolls. Coal is tricky, you will make a profit on it, but I've found that mtk coal is a great source if you're using the blast furnace. The clay hammer will probably cause a slight price [bleep]e in coal, but that's iffy.
  5. So I've been working on Hunter near the ZMI alter, and noticed a big pack of hill giants at the bottom of the hill. So it got me to wondering if that would be a good spot to power train ranging. How do hill giants compare to ogres or yaks in terms of range def? Assuming, that the top of the hill is within range of rapid, would hills be a decent (at least 40k plus exp per hour) range monster?
  6. Well given that all the other production skills--crafting--smithing--herblore, all have turned into massive money sinks themselves, isn't possible that some might see this as a long overdue reward for high level skillers? At this point, all of the production skills are ones that a user has to figure out what will be his moneymaker to afford doing it. One could reasonably see this flatpack thing as a skiller moneymaker in the same vein as GWD is for combat players. And given that it was wrapped up as a reward from a diary, seeing it as a bonus why would eyebrows be raised?
  7. That's something we as tip.iters need to help with. Once the clay items can be factored into the level calcs, I think there will be a training breakthrough. (also on the wish list, a pvp world that just drops skiller gloves)
  8. Some might say that the time spent in sc could have been spent making money so that you could pay the extra coins to level the skill; but for me, these clay items now put the moneyloss skills of crafting, smithing, and construction back into the realm of the possible. As soon as I can figure out, how many clay items are needed for the levels I want, I will be haunting the sc game night and day.
  9. One fully charged proto hammer made 188 Mithril armour stands (135 exp typically, 270 with clay hammer)
  10. yes, that's it exactly. Does planking money counts towards the number of slots the butler holds?
  11. IMO, iron knives aren't worth it, they cost like 3x more for +1 more range bonus, stick with bronze. Yeah but somebody has to support the low and mid level smithing market, why not rangers?
  12. The butler takes 20 slots max. When going to the saw mill with noted logs, will he take 20 logs plus unnoting cash, or 19 logs with the 20th slot for the unnoting cash?
  13. (whispers)Shhhhhhhh! its already overcrowded there, why add fuel to the fire? Man those aviansies sure are dangerous. I sure wouldn't want to go there, no sir!
  14. How difficult is it to sell either steel or iron bolts on the ge? Additionally, what do the arrowtip and dart markets look like in terms of ease of sale?
  15. I am at 79 def, what level would be the suggested level def level for switching from Torag's helm to a God Mitre while tanking at avansies? Is there a def level, where switching to d-hide legs from torag legs is possible.
  16. Leave gems at gwd or leave gems in inventory? Also dump all the other runes (airs, waters, earths, laws)?
  17. So I'm at gwd fighting avansies and got my bones to peaches tabs, and I'm trying to figure out the way to maximize my open slots for bones. I know having a bob familiar will help with some of it, but what when its timer expires? I really want to maximize the number of peaches created when I use the spell; what should I do with the runes and germs and herbs I get? Some suggest that camping for 4-6 hours maximizes profit, but I'd rather not lose the gems and herbs. Am I being foolish, by wanting to keep it all? Would it be better to leaving and comeback, or stay and drop anything not coin or noted addy (the profit from the herbs and gems being made up in more overall addy drops)?
  18. Just finished seergaze, and interested in doing a few rounds of vyerwatch hunting. Any suggested locations for hunting the beasties? Stats are in sig, but atk/str/def are 79; prayer 65, summoning 59. Own full torags and guthans.
  19. Any hope of adding the exp boosts of the morphic and voltile tools to the guide?
  20. That guy from summer's end post quest, buys noted jewelry at min ge price, right? Will he buy 4-5k worth of noted strung ammys in one shot, or are there limits to what/how/when he will buy?
  21. I'm chasing 69 smithing and trying to do it quickly but without a great deal of cash outlay. Yes, yes, I know...cannonballs, but I'd rather try this morphic tool, but I'm a little puzzled how this whole thing works. When working on mith items with the morphic tool, I would add 30.5 exp to the total, per item smithed (1 bar items yeilding more exp, then 5 bar items), is that correct? So smithing/smelting exp for a mith item if I smithed it into bolts or dart tips would be 110.5 as compared to the typical 80 for smithing/smelting. Assuming that is correct, I would need to do 1839 bars rather then 2540, right? In terms of numbers of tools needed, would I need roughly 2 morphic tools, or 18.39 tools?
  22. Probably in the wrong section for it, but what happened/where is the thread of people offering house services? I have a mess of dragon bones and hoping to find an alter.
  23. Assuming using another person's house (so no lighting marentil) and running from yanille bank to house portal and back with a fully loaded terrorbird and scrolls; how many bones per hour can be buried in a player owned house?
  24. how quickly does Salarin the Twisted respawn, and is it possible to camp him for keys?
