  1. Yeah its designed for nice slow leveling so that you will end up giving jagex the most $$$ possible. That whole "spirit of the game" is a marketing ploy, just like 99 skill capes.
  2. Yes, because it is so enjoyable to have to lose money with no hope of even breaking even, when leveling a skill. I don't know about you, but a fantasy world seems to imply one that isn't just like real life. It's a world with monsters to slay, fair maids to rescue, vast treasures ripe for the taking, and heroes pitting their skills against the world hoping to win the right to tread the bejeweled corridors of power. If I wanted a crappy boring, repetitive job with little or no reward, I would have stayed at Kinkos.
  3. Though it isn't confirmed, movement plays a factor in attacks. Moving people tend to attract less jagbots. If mining, moving back and forth might help.
  4. Well rather then debate the update, I was more trying to get some data on the new jagbots. What attracts them? Does carrying large amounts of gold or valuables in your inventory summon them? I fight up a mess of green dragons, will I survive to tele back? Does combat with a jagbot call more bots? It might seem so, given my experience at agility along with that video of the guy fighting at the axe hut. Does moving within a single map segment attract them? Does standing still attract them more? Do people need to always be moving to be safe? Are jagbots attracted to AFK training? From the video at the axe hut it might seem so.
  5. While he wasn't there when I started, after a few passes a jagbot popped up and was loitering around the rope swing. After he killed me (and I lost my cat  ) I ran/teleported back via the lever (hoping to save my kitty) and ended up running into a swarm of three jagbots outside the area by the wolves. I made it into the agility course and was maged through the fence and killed a second time. The third time I did the same path but there were enough of the jagbots that I I got bracketed and died for time three. Its just a theory, but I think that jagbots are attracted to non-movement within a segment square and death piles
  6. Odd question but, I've been one-iteming wildy agility course and it seems every time I die and try to get back there the number of jagbot ghosts in the general area increases. 1st there was one, my 2nd attempt there were three; then five.
  7. But given that crafting and smithing and most of the production skills are massive cash leaks to level, whats wrong with wanting a little inflow of money to fund my exploits? I am more then a little frustrated that losing massive piles of cash is the price to level up. I don't particularly like that wanting a "break even" training method is considered crazy, or even "greedy." Maybe this will sound like a rant, but isn't there something odd when the two biggest money makers are swamp tar and spider eggs; while people willing to pour their money and time into crafting have to take a flying leap with their products?
  8. Another factor to consider is speed vs cost plus the over drop in pess prices. The ZMI alter (if you use lunar magics) is fast, almost as fast as law world 66. The increased speed seems to be the real selling point here.
  9. Are the items like bullroarer and the holy force spell useful after legends quest?
  10. The other option is to keep the money in there, and just wait. Keep your rating up but don't withdraw any resources.
  11. I had a strange question. Am I the only one planning to raise my skills to the top level of usefulness within that skill and no further? Example:90 in crafting; 83 hunter; 70 prayer; 82 herblore; etc. etc. It seems strange to me that so many people want that top number, long after the skill fails to pay additional benefits per level. What drives the quest for 99 for you?
  12. I was skeptical about the black mask till I found a price on one I couldn't pass up. I used it on jellies (with d-skirt and rune plate) and the difference in slaying speed/time was _very_ noticeble. If you can afford it, get it.
  13. Grex iron dart prices dropped into the 16-21 range per dart and even then, my 4k worth didn't sell. Its seems that darts aren't as "big" as knives for the value even though you get twice as many darts per bar.
  14. In terms of the poison, I've found that for me, it hits at str 2, mind you it lasts a while, but the last couple of times through there (doing roving and starting mournings pt1) I didn't take an anti and did fine. The real risk is blundering into leaf traps while poisoned. Tripwires there are only a few ones, but leaft traps are numerous.
  15. What I did was from 45 to 50, was fremmy pickpocketing, in the house with the low level chest. Every few minutes I would run up and pick the lock on the steel arrowheads chest in fremmy. When I hit 50, I went and hit the safes down in the thieves guild. The exp goes pretty quick and you get a mix of coin and gems.
  16. The real teeth gritting part is walking around the elven lands. Watch for leaf traps[/b]. The tip on axe/tinder is spot on. There are enough rabbits in there to recharge food. The other suggestion I would make is get multiple barrels of tar when the time comes to get tar. You'll need a barrel of it again when you do mourning's end.
  17. Yes I should have been a bit more clear, I'm looking to find the "price" in manage thy kingdom. The guides says 56.1; but a few people keep saying its somewhere around 46-48
  18. What level agility or thieving do you have to be to not take damage from trip wires in the elven lands?
  19. Is the cost per maple 48 or 56? The guide says 56; but someone mentioned it was 48.
  20. Okay, so leveling from 62 ranging to 70. I have iron darts and bone bolts. While iron darts are faster, I find myself burning throught a lot more of them per kill and throwing a lot more zeros when I train at caged ogres compared to the bone bolts. Might rock crabs, yaks or another low def creature be better, at least in terms of # of darts used vs kills? Any suggestions?
  21. Option D use iron to make darts. With 10 dart tips per ore over 5 w/ knives (plus feathers, for the darts) you would net twice as many ranged projectiles for the same relative cost. Since buying feathers in bulk is easy, darts are the way to go.
  22. Forget dds, take a crafting knife. It cuts the web and isn't a tasty target for pkers in the same way a dds is. Also watch for jerks on the course, some people will kill you on there for the sake of killing you. But its great exp out there, so fear not.
  23. Don't forget Yaks! Less crowed then experiments and rock crabs.
  24. Did I hear correctly that the Grex prices affect infinite shop stock prices?
