  1. We figured we'd post this: http://tip.it/runescape/index.php?news&id=2735
  2. And if you have any questions or comments regarding the site, I'm the one to poke. Welcome to TIF.
  3. [/hide] Going into these two posts, according to Dutch law online gambling is illegal. Gambling for minors is also illegal. The law refers to gambling as games of chance, contests, etc. Basically any kind of chance game, so wheels of fortune would fit that description too. Jagex does not have a licence for this (I seriously doubt my government allowing that), and most of the game's players are minors. Another thing I'm wondering...which country's laws apply? British ones because Jagex is a british company? The laws of the country the servers is in(This is what I'd personally guess)? Or the country the player is in? If it was the last, then lol it would sure as be illegal in some countries. With the other two options it's not quite as clear...would have to know the laws to be able to judge that... I am no expert on law, but as far as I know there is a very big grey area as far as foreign internet sites/games are concerned. Either way, if it is illegal in the UK it shouldn't be too hard to stop Jagex in court... Costs are another story though.

  5. Oh for pete's sake. That's not right at all. It's like saying Deal or No Deal isn't gambling because the least you could get would be the penny in the box. A loss is a relative term, wherein you end up with a reduced value in the things you own than you did before you played the game. 50gp is a loss, a Lucky Divine Spirit Shield is a win. This is not a negotiable statement. Exactly. Even if they try and get away with misinterpreting a definition for gambling, this is RWT (exchanging real money for in-game items; especially since you always get an item). Either way, what disturbs me the most is the fact that they encourage gambling in minors with this. It is highly addictive and is not something children should actively be exposed to by any company. There is a reason minors aren't allowed in casinos. <_< And this nicely invalidates Mod Timbo's claim that it isn't gambling, seeing how Jagex owns both our accounts as well as the items on them. You could even argue that Jagex is selling the illusion that players can win things (as opposed to always winning something) because the items do not belong to us. "Win divine!" ... "Here's a bucket." lol.
  6. If you already subscribe via credit card you just have to press a button! No details needed! How thoughtful of them. [/hide] So say you are subscribing by credit card.I hack your account, then can I keep pressing the button to get more and more spins without needing to enter anything? This is correct. I am glad I no longer pay by creditcard. Assuming this happens, they'd also have all your info?
  7. If you already subscribe via credit card you just have to press a button! No details needed! How thoughtful of them. It's that simple? You don't have to go through an order confirmation screen or anything? You literally just have to press a buttion? Wouldn't they lose MASSIVE amounts of money in charge-back fees from the parents who the CC belongs to? Does show how well they thought this through, doesn't it?
  8. If that isn't a late april fool's joke.. Do Jagex realise encouraging minors to gamble and asking money for it isn't exactly morally justified behaviour?

  20. Hello Xarai, Welcome to Tip.It and thank you for your submission. :) Could you maybe specify which level Vyrewatch you got the drop from, and did you happen to take a screenshot when you got it? That way I can add it. For now I've added a note in the system along with your name to be credited once the drop has been confirmed. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. :)
