  1. Does Holland have an anti-gambling law written similarly to the UK's? If someone can post/translate it if it exists that would be great I put that here
  2. It isn't in our law, but I can have a poke around to see if there's an organisation to contact that can clear that up.
  3. "Awesome member's object" That made me lol. :P
  4. Welcome to Tip.It phyco116. :) Currently our skill calculators have an Urn option which will show you how many urns you need to fill to get to your goal level. Is that what you were referring to?
  5. Before you pick on us... Remember that Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
  6. As discussed in the other topic, this has been fixed and you've been credited, thanks! :)
  7. Hey there, We've replaced the image on the guide. You've all been credited. :) If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. Thanks for helping out!
  8. To fix your signature, put the following in the signature box when you edit it: [img=http://runetrack.com/sigs/stat/ice/pose/0/Jatzhaar.png] Your non-combat skills are rather low, so it might be a good idea to get farming up and then do herbs. In the mean time you can do some task sets and quests for the appropriate tools (a list can be found in our Farming Guide) and do some slaying along with dailies. Some of the daily activities are listed here. Broad bolts and some runes/shop stocks are also profit. Hope that helps, and welcome to the forums! :)

  10. Because it's unfair that someone willing to fork over half a grand can get 95-99 slayer (starrychelx) in a few hours of clicking a red button while it takes hundreds of hours for someone that doesn't? Not to mention, should gameplay be like this...seriously. If you can't stand slayer, runecrafting, agility etc, you can also NOT train it. Simply, what's left of runescape if all goals are meaningless because you can just get them by spending hundreds of dollars? And I'm not even talking about the gambling aspect of the sof, which is terrible as well...If I had a kid, I'd not allow them to play. This is why I took the game away from two of my younger sisters after this update. If my parents were aware they'd probably pressure me to stop spending money on the P2p subscription out of principle too, but for now helping the community is a priority over that. If Jagex pushes more of this crap through it's a matter of time before I do though.
  11. Hello Slay3rkay, Welcome to Tip.It, and thank you for your submission. :) The entry has been updated and you've been added to the credits. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. Julie
  12. Indeed you do. Though I think it's more "By logging on you agree" than "Accept NOW or no scape for you!" You agree when you create your account, that when playing said account, you agree to the terms of service. This agreement was made when the account got created, so if they change the terms of service players should have to accept it again before being allowed to play again. By accepting the ToS you agree to it, so you should have the right to refuse if Jagex backs out or adds to a part. If they can change the ToS and the "agreement" would still stand, abuse would become very easy.
  13. To be quite honest, it seems the opposite really.. and this isn't the first time. Remember the climbing boots thing?
  14. We actually just updated that. Looks like someone just forgot to post, so eh, yeah. Either way, this has been updated and you've been credited star, cheers.
  15. As TS said, I posted an announcement on the front page. If you're still having issues, feel free to PM me.
  16. Sorry for the delay. Thank you for your submission. The entry has been updated and you have been credited. :)
  17. According to this article on my government's site any online "game of chance" is illegal unless a licence has been issued to the organisation hosting said game of chance. A game of chance is defined as, and I quote, "Een spel is een kansspel als spelers een prijs kunnen winnen en geen overwegende invloed hebben op het spel." - In English: "A game is a game of chance when players can win a prize and do not have a predominant influence on said game." The Squeal of Fortune fits this definition (in my view anyway) because, even though we always win 'a prize' - players do not have any influence on the game. Though the law is not very specific here, always winning 'a prize' - if Jagex interprets an empty bucket as such - still means the player can win a prize; they just do not know which one. Just like Deal or no Deal is considered a game of chance, while the lowest prize to be won there still is worth something (€0.01 iirc). The law also specifies several times that it is illegal for those who have been issued a licence (in the unlikely event that Jagex somehow managed to get one), they are prohibited from offering games of chance to those below the age of 18. With that in mind, how is it legal? Actual Jmod quote for reference: http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/32/sofp.png Game of chance definition: http://www.rijksoverheid.nl/onderwerpen/kansspelen-en-kansspelbelasting/soorten-kansspelen [/hide]I think it's not that easy, e.g. define a prize. Is flipping a coin with my friend to decide who takes the pretty girl also a game of chance and we need a license for it? If that prize has to be of monetary value, buyable spins are not a game of chance as those virtual goods don't have a specific worth. I don't understand dutch, so can't red into it. Prize isn't defined through law, so is open to interpretation by judges. Flipping a coin with a friend for that purpose probably wouldn't fit the description since people cannot be given as a prize. The context also suggests the person issuing the chance to be a company or organisation. This is, for example, why the company I work for had to get a license to have a few promotional bingo weeks with prizes. But yeah, I'm no expert on law so am probably simplifying things. :P
  18. So I had some time to spare and looked into the law aspect in response to Mod Matt K's statement. A game of chance is defined as, and I quote, "Een spel is een kansspel als spelers een prijs kunnen winnen en geen overwegende invloed hebben op het spel." - In English: "A game is a game of chance when players can win a prize and do not have a predominant influence on said game." Prove it! (Don't worry I got your back mistress Jaffy ma'am. ;)) [/hide]<3:
