The can survive off it, and they have no incentive to get a job then. Plus, I feel we are not hard enough on those that claim disability benefits, mainly because of people who fake not being able to work. I have no problems with those who are actually disabled claiming, but it seems that claiming can be as easy as playing up a back injury and acting as if it is permanent.

Oh you know, because becoming a member instantly makes you more superior, so you should have to show your devotion to a game that was free originally by paying. The fact you get so much in a free game is what attracts people. No F2P, then nobody would freaking bother.

I'd be more worried if you considered that having an 80 year old hit on you more normal. Kind of a stupid arguement too, since there is a world of difference between a man who considers you might be gay, so takes the first step, and an 80 year old woman who hits on you.

Actually, I follow this thread a lot, and have responded in a similar fashion to others who have said the same. The thing is, even though many males do not want other guys to hit on them, you can deal with it when it happens. Really, dealing with it is a simple "Please stop, I am not gay." Which should stop the person doing it again.

Really Zierro, you are full of yourself. Not every homosexual male wants you. A simple response of "Thank you for the compliment, however, I am not gay." would be enough to stop them. Plus, if you had a homosexual friend, then chances are, they know of your sexuality, and will not do anything. Really, responses like yours show one of two things. You are either: A) Homophobic or B) Insecure in your own sexuality.

And anime share a lot of the same common elements, or else they wouldn't be labeled "anime". There is some sort of requirement that needs to be fulfilled in order for it to be called "anime" or else they would be just regular cartoons. It is possible, yes, but not for everyone. Looks like you are making an assumption about our character - you assume that we just aren't looking hard enough or that we just don't want to like anime, as opposed to us just straight out not liking it. When was I making assumptions about you? You like anime... do you really consider that an assumption? Hmm, the thing most anime has in common? Well, isn't the vast majority of it based in Japan? That's pretty much the only common element between quite a lot of it. I mean, take two like Clannad and Ghost in the Shell. The only similarity? They are based in Japan. The thing is, to proclaim you don't like anime, well, you've just based it on a few that you've probably seen then said "Hell, I won't bother looking, it's probably all like this." As for your assumption: "you are going to be a biased anime-lover" I've pretty much read all this thread, and plenty people have said they disliked anime. Did I make a scene of it? No. I assumed they had their own reasons, and were keeping them private. Had Skully kept his private rather than call it "sad, childish and annoying" then nothing would have happened. That general assumption shows his ignorance towards anime. I'd like to see someone be able to watch Ghost in the Shell and call it childish.

Ah, then I don't reccomend starting with it. It is a good game, in my opinion, though far from the best Final Fantasy. I'll agree with others and suggest LOTR: The Third Age, since I did find it pretty enjoyable too. Although I did have to look up a guide to navigate the final area.

So it is possible not to like a genre as a whole since they share some of the same basic elements. Well, the thing about when it comes to finding anime, if you know what sort of T.V. series you like, then it is very possible that an anime series has similar basics in the plot etc... and just plays out a different way to make it similar, but unique, and well, with the anime thread here, it's as easy as stating what type you are looking for and waiting for a reply. You know nothing about me, don't make assumptions like me. Had he given a better reason, such as "I've disliked all the anime I've seen, and am not going to look further into it" then it sounds a lot more acceptable, and chances are, Gallade and I would not have brought this on for long. I may be as you put it, an "anime-lover" however, that doesn't mean I can't accept other people's choices. Going back a few years, I was into metal (still am now) and a guy I know pretty much said that he thought rap was better than metal. I couldn't see why he said that, and I probably asked him why he thought that, but the thing is, I let him have his choice since it was not a childish remark that can be insulting to fans of the genre, and didn't show ignorance. Hell, the guy even had more metal on his computer than me at the time (obtained from a friend of his) and was the one who burned me a copy of Inhuman Rampage (I later bought it). So, until you know me personally, don't make assumptions about my character.

Been meaning to watch Haruhi too. Anyway, it's summer (practically), and I haven't got school to worry about, so looks like I'll keep the usual habit of watching anime til about 3am.

Yeah, but instead of giving a reason that is going to annoy people, it is better to give none. If you basically refer to all anime in your reason, you are going to annoy people. Since all anime is not the same. Maybe if he gave no reason, this would not have started. Instead, he also insults those who watch anime in his reason.

I think it gives the girl a sense of "justice has worked". Though, like all cases like this, it kind of helps for future rulings, and shows what is actually acceptable, which is the main point in it.

Because it bothers me that he is making himself look bad. And I hate it when people look bad in the wrong setting. This is not the setting to be looking bad in. ... I have no idea what you just said... I think he's saying that it annoys him when people look bad, through their own misinformation. Though the reason I will supply for myself is it annoys me when people give reasons that can only be based on a few things. Like those who say "Rap is bad because it's all about drugs, money and hookers." Which is stupidity in itself since not all of it is. I mean, if someone were to give a good enough reason other than what Skully gave, that being that it is "sad, annoying and childish" is completely stupid. Death Note is not designed for a child. It's about bloody killing, and the sides of "justice" and humanity. Clannad, well, it's not designed for children because, well, the plot is a major part. Hell, and show me a parent who would let a 6y/o watch Elfen Lied, which contains some graphic violence, swearing, and nudity, though those were really needed as far as the plot is concerned. Plus every kid would be crying during the scene with the puppy. I have never seen a show designed for children actually have a plot beyond "Good vs Evil" all others are designed to make you laugh really. Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon, yeah they are anime, however, they are designed to appeal more to kids, I think, so using them as a base to judge all anime is stupid.

Just realised how much I suck. Lost where I was in K-ON! due to reading the manga. Can't figure out what episode I was on. As for Lucky Star, well, I think I was on Episode 8 or something.

Yeah, that was a pretty good game, in it's own way. I only bought it because it was an RPG, though it was fairly decent, if a little too easy, except for the final area, I got lost somehow, in a game where you cannot possibly get [bleep]ing lost! Yeah, and Nadril, as a first introduction to the Final Fantasy series, FFVII is a bad one to choose, I think it only recieved as much hype since it was the first fully 3d one. Though had gaping holes, Aerith dies, yet the characters get beat up, slashed pretty much everything during battle, lose all their HP and a pheniox down works? Why could we not use one on Aerith? All for advancement of the story, I guess.
