  1. Actually, those "Pox Parties" were because parents want their children immune, as it poses a much bigger problem in later life, if I remember my facts correctly.
  2. Yeah, the dollar is pretty weak at the moment IIRC, and hell, without America, would we have had the war in Iraq? Oh wait, they didn't even help out in WW2 really until the Japanese attacked. I'd be more worried about a world without China, Taiwan and such. The places where most of our modern things are made. Hell, as a gamer, and as a person who enjoys anime/manga, I'd dread a world without Japan. Face it, America is not the best country in the world. Though for Mage_Man, I could do with a world without you drunken Aussies, or just about anyone who realises where this comes from, and why it is a joke.
  3. Yeah I was gonna say, don't we kinda all want to get it now, recover, and have immunity to it, so we're better prepared when it's mutated and comes back in the winter? The way the Flu and Common Cold viruses mutate make it impossible for us to be immune, there is so many differences between one cold virus and another, that while they have the same symptoms, they do not have the same genetic makeup, making it almost impossible for humans to be immune.
  4. In civilized countries we call that blackmail. 1. It's not blackmail if you don't hold something over their head. 2. Why wouldn't you try to go for peace? Seriously, they're protesting for a reason, and in this case it's a damn good one. Why in the hell should I care about what's happening in Sri Lanka? Why in the hell should I care about what's happening in Canada? Or America? Or anywhere else that isn't friggin' Scotland? You can ignore them, you choose not to and get pissy about it. Besides, these protestors are getting the message of what is happening across better than any news station.
  5. [hide=Spoiler]They did hunt down Gollum, and he escaped when the elves of Murkwood allowed him to climb up a tree, which he enjoyed, after which at one point he refused to come down. Orcs then attacked, and Gollum escaped. Legolas brought the news to Gandalf.[/hide] That's as I remember it. [hide=Spoiler]Yeah, thats how it happened. Except most of the Orcs were slain and Gollum escaped during the confusion. Plus, if I remember rightly, its "Mirkwood".[/hide] Ugg, a late edit, I need to pay more attention.
  6. I thought you're point was that there was no way it could equate to that. Must have read it wrong, my apologies. But yeah, I agree with you. However, its easier just to agree with people on that. I'm more likely to fail Higher Maths if I don't accept this as a rule, than if I do. Its a trivial matter that is debated too much. Its more convient to put 1/3 as 0.333 when needed, cause hell, you're answer is going to be close enough to the real thing. I mean, 1/3 of 6 is 2. 6*0.333 is 1.998. ITs a pretty damn close answer that most people will just write as 2, depending on how you need to do it.
  7. Its not blackmail if you start a petition. And if these protestors were causing too much trouble ad delays etc... wouldn't the local police force have dealt with them? Bloodstain, you speak the truth. Sure, I'd hate to be late for work, if I were working, but hell, its not like I can get fired because of mass delays caused by people. If I were to be late for work, in exchange for even one person to survive, it would be worthwhile. While it is a hassle to people, it does help get attention where it is needed.
  8. Well, 1/3 is continually going on, infinitely as 0.333... we haven't discovered the point where it equates to being that 1/3 gives a complete number, simply because we either don't know how, or we do not have the time to discover it. If you tried to write infinity as a number, not a symbol, then it is forever ongoing, you never stop. That is the idea behind 0.333...

Its not as much as witholding information, its the false confessions people make to make it stop. I.E. "Are you a terrorist?" "No" *torture* [here it happens again, and again until the person just says yes to makeit stop] Under the worst circumstances, anyone will do anything to make it stop.
  10. They're trying to raise awareness [wagon]. You don't have to pay attention to them. I disagree with you, should I tell you to GTFO TIF? No I can't, its up to the admins and mods to decide that. Much like it is up to the government/whatever to decide if these protestors can do this. Not some punk kid.

More like attempting to destroy Olympus. But yeah, Duke Nuken is no where near as bad a dude as Kratos. Duke Nukem sticks the finger up at you. Kratos rips your [bleep]ing arm off.
  12. Exactly. Or he could have torn the spartan apart when he threw GROUND GLASS and PEPPER in his eyes. WHAT. Your average ninja is never seen. They will kill you before you know they are their. As soon as you see them, you are already dead. Sucky ninja lost to Spartan because he was no ninja.
  13. But it does, doesn't it? Because you can give 0 people 1 thing an infinite amount of times. OR we could admit that it just equates to Error.
  14. Its okay. Not as good as AoE, but good in its own way.
  15. You have to cause some chaos, while making the damage easy to fix. Even if it is slightly time consuming. The clean up should never take too much more time than the setup.
  16. On the subject of pranks. A group of 10 people in my year at school (6th), decided to pull a prank on the school. We're talking about a year which has 70,80+ people. Know what they did? Threw water balloons during morning break. They ran in, wearing overalls, and masked, just to end up throwing in the range of 20-40 water balloons, before legging it. Hell, I could name one of them, and really, they just need to look at who wasn't attending today in order to find it out. Highly unimpressive, would have been more fun if there was more thought and more people involved. I'd bote for moving tables around so they're stacked up in the corridors, or infront of doors. Though it requires the cover of night. Maybe the 1,2,4 chicken trick just for the confusion. Maybe set up water balloons somewhere so they go off when pressure is applied, because you know, its cooler than throwing them at people. And hell, some didn't even burst. Ended up handing one to a guy who was nearby, someone one of my mates know. To be honest, I did chuckle slightly at the reaction when he threw it at a wall. We have this weird ceiling/wall thing that sticks out for like, 1/3 or something of the place. Right onto a group of girls. And it was massively overhyped too. They were supposed to have put bleach (dangerous), food colouring and some other stuff into some. And supposedly had about 600 of them to throw. Yeah, and the worst part? The faculty knew about it, so were expecting it. Seriously, we had one of the depute heads come into classes to warn the 6th Years. I'm on fairly good terms with the guy, so he knows I probably wouldn't have been involved. Plus I'd like to cause more chaos and confusion, which nobody knows. A prank is good, when its done well, and doesn't cause lasting harm. But other times, its just lame. And half the friggin' school was expecting it. Lame. Would have been a greater prank for them to have not pulled it, kept everyone worrying about when it was going to happen. Though had they climbed onto the school roof and bombarded people as they were entering at the start of the day, it would have been better. Oh, and my 2 cents. Perhaps the boards work, but I doubt the mass produced ones do, it'd be a dangerous toy. I think you get the best results with a traditional, wooden one.
  17. Cute kid, though it looks as if he's trying to say "Get this thing the [bleep] off me."

Halo sucks. And you think Whiny Emo Boy is badass? lol. Sephiroth is more badass than Cloud. As for badass game characters... Kratos is the winner, hands down. Though Wolverine in the X-Men Origins game comes close.
  19. Would be nice if we could go back to the days when music was more than a method of making money. When it was just some guys playing the instruments as a form of expression, however, the illusion of "talent" stops many. No matter how crap they seem to me, I'll still give bands that play for the fun of it, and not for profit, respect. Unfortunately, those are in the decline, with the music business becoming more lucaritive every day. As soon as there is a band which offers all their music for free as downloads, and work regular jobs (sure, they'll release less, but its the principle of the matter), then I'd consider giving them a listen, even if it isn't my type of music, maybe I'd even donate something to give some support, for their effort and the basis that they're doing it because they enjoy it. As soon as it become about making money, you're not making music, its just a new business venture. That being said, I do actually buy CDs now rather than download. While art is a form of expression, its changed over the years. Now you can pretty much throw some paint on a canvas and voila, you've got modern art. I don't want to find some obscure [bleep]ing meaning from some random splatters of paint. Give me a Picasso or something over this crap any day. I suppose now the art world is getting more to what music should be. A way of expressing yourself (albeit, alot now are just WTF? moments and look like a random splattering of paint).
  20. Says who? The method doesn't matter as long as it works You just need to know some basics about defense, and zombies. Raiders are more of a threat than zombies.
  21. I'll read what I want to read, thank you very much.
  22. What? People use sharks? I either used Monkfish and Bunyip for training, and Tuna taters for GWD, along with Sara Brews.

The funny thing is, I always thought the guy looked like he was lost. Kinda confused why there was a tank trying to run over him when he was just trying to cross the street. He does actually look lost in that image. Its sort of like "[cabbage], where am I? How did these tanks get here?"
  24. We all know that they actually want to say "Get the [bleep] off my property."
  25. This is OT. Have a look around the topics. We're not about gaming here.
