  1. Of course Jagex would have to update graphics, quests, etc otherwise there would be a definitive way to beat Runescape. Without quest updates alot of members would be training skills instead of quests, thus later on most members would get all the skills to 99. It's like saying McDonald's or Nike really care about other people in other countries. When they have sweatshops there and cheat the people living there. They set and illusion, a curtain of lies to shield themselves, face it corporations were made to maximize the profits. If Jagex honestly cares about the players and not much about money then why make Jagex? Why not just have a small business like what google started out with. If you've ever been to the Jagex homepage it's mainly about Runescape all the other games you could find on addictinggames or miniclip. Player satisfaction? That must be a joke, if that were a main purpose why are there so many people getting away with "I'm sorry my cat accidently tryped it" or "A virus made my computer do it." Also, why did it take that long to mass ban the autoers and gold farmers. Why did they release Hunting that is so similar to Slayer when there are so many better skill ideas in their OWN forums. Why are the holiday specials so childish? Why so simple? Sure, simplicity is a main factor in why we play runescape. Why does it take so long to receive a simple computerized reply to your message to Jagex. I know I'm assuming the worst in Jagex, but I've found that doing so will keep you from getting "hurt." This is like a child beleiving that the person playing their hero such as Batman or Superman is perfect and a real hero, but they all later realize that they were not what they seem like on t.v. Also why do they have those ridiculous polls on the main page. They don't ask if we want a Hunting skill or if we would like new interfaces and graphic updates, if we wanted HD graphics we would play halo and WOW instead of runescape. Instead we get the most random and stupid questions that truly never develope into the game itself.
  2. Yes, gold farming in China pays much better than other jobs. However, it does NOT have the same working conditions as other jobs.
  3. this is weird, i was just talking to my friend about his best rs freind quitting. :-k Well, it doesn't really matter if you have a friend you made online. It's actaully, in my experiance, better because they won't follow the "crowd" in a game. A friend made in rs will always say the truth, for why lie about it? Gosh, this reminds me of the days when i was a noob... Killing goblins south of fally with saltyman and danbond. Smithing and mining in the dwarven mines, exploring the unknown. But its been about three years since then. I've only had one good friend since then, shifty, but she quit a while ago. The bestest friend i made in rs from a cav i picked up at blue dragons when someone died. It seems that since then many have quit, n0valyfe, lilyuffie, kale stille, svulle and many others. But it guess thats just life. It's part of life to make friendships and as time progresses they split apart..
  4. To me the difference is that pures sell mills for fun and leisure money.(yes, not all pures and stakers are like that i understand) Gold famers do it because they have to feed their starving selves and children in high poverty regions of the world.
  5. i posted before but i just remembered this... Each passing moment will never be the same again. Enjoy life as it goes, other wise when you die, you have not lived. You don't know what you got till its gone. As time progresses, you'll miss the days when you were a noob, when the rs world was a mysterious world to explore. I already miss the days when i was a noob(two years ago...) To be honest, rs was much, much, much more fun when i was level 18 mining in the dwarven mines chatting and making new friends, dreaming of the day id be 100+. Now that day as come(currently lvl 110 1712 total) rs seems boring compared to the old days.As you get older, time goes faster. Enjoy the time you have, it's not the destination, its the journey. No one cares about the end, its the journey that makes it worthwhile. I mean thats why we read books, and books don't have a 10 page ending. p.s. "Everyone will say that they have died, but not everyone can say they have lived."-unknown If you just live your life setting goals, you can say you have accomplished something, but you would not have used your gift of life wisely.
  6. These articles are getting better and better, yogosun then szygy now this, it's awesome. Buddha once said "Do not dwell in the past,do not dream of the future but live the present." I hope this persuades many players to have fun in rs and not just play it as it were life. Also, like in life there will be setbacks, if you get scammed get back up and try again. Rs just doesn't teach you math, english and typeing skills, it teaches you life leasons. Not to trust strangers and that there will always be bad people. and General George MacArthur once said " I don't judge a man by how high he has climbed, I judge him by how high he bounces when he hits rock bottom." just something to think about.
  7. Autoers are a disgrace to the game, taking the easy way out. But who hasn't taken the easy way once in their life? I do not even bother reporting them. One reason is because I honestly believe Jagex doesn't really read the appeals and such. Someone got unbanned for saying their cat fluffy jumped on the keyboard and "accidently" typed the offensive language and that they were sorry for it. Another, autoers only really affect players who gather raw materials, and i believe a small portion of the rs population actually does. I used to fish alot, got from 65-94 within 10months, i stopped until the autoing problem was a big deal. Sure, i hate the fact that sharks dropped from 1kea to 640ea. But thats how i get 99 cooking and made a profit. The way i see it, autoing will be a problem until Jagex honestly cares about the games direction. Why would a company who makes 6m+ a month care about how low the prices of shakrs/yews/ess are. If Jagex cared, this would've been over. I've gotten banned for saying "jew." Does Jagex care about the reason behind it?No. Honestly, its easy to tell whos a autoer, their name is some random jibberish and their logged on for god knows how long. Sure, their getting smarter with leveling themselves to 20 and saying hi once in a blue moon and all. Jagex doesn't even listen to the polls on the main page! When was the last time they made a update that derived from a poll?
  8. well i mean noob is'nt even in the dictionary. So why does it really matter how its used, its a slang word. So however people use it, is what it means right? you say noob to newer players, and tbh if your not ATLEAST 90 you are pretty much still a noob. i call my friends noobs all the time just to joke around, even though most of them dont play any online games at all, its just something to laugh and joke about or poking fun at someone...i mean its not like 50 cent or some really gangster dude says it to "diss" someone its not offensive in my opinion, just some word.
  9. what klan kaos's quotes said was true, very true indeed. But there was one fact that was overlooked, due to the reaction of the 500 santas gone, players thought they would rise, which they did, but the players didnt think of what klan kaos said, since the 500 santas were out of circulation they didnt really have an effect on the price. But players didnt think of that, instead they just bought santas like crazy and therefore the price rised. I mean when that point was said, i thought "wow, that was amazingly ingenious, but then i thought about it again and came up with this. ( just wanted to express my view on that subject, not flamming or spamming)
  10. Well first off, there are kinds of armor that deteriate with use (barrows) and um most trades between players are much, much, more than 50k. and jagex is trying to lower the amount of gold, they baned alot of players for real world trading, and one of those accounts holds about 300million to 1billon or more. and they banned about 1k or 10k players? im not sure. but also there are people who take a break and when they return more money flows in. Inflation happens, its inevitable, it happens in games and in countrys its the circle in economy, inflation, then money drops then steady then infaltion...etc we havent really seen this circle since the game is still pretty young.
  11. its ridiculous how "noobs" think of high level players as a 20 year old who dropped out of high school to play rs or a 300 pound teen with pimples everywhere and hates sports and such. But as many other tip.iters said, its all about whether or not your addicted to the game. I play alot during HOTTT summer afternoons, lazy days, rainy days, or whenever theres nothing to do or nothing humanly possible to do...alot of my friends constantly make fun of me that i play this " idiotic and stupid game" but i definately have a better time than they do on rainy days, etc... i honestly think no nerds or "no-lifers" exist well...except some, not to name any ;] but its the ignorance, envy and hatred that exist in people. Tbh i think its what we dont have that others do that cause us to think of them as no-lifers and nerds and to quote a movie (batman begins 2005 or 2006) " It is not who i am or what i am but its what i do that defines me." it is relevant to this topic....
  12. farming is harder even though i train both currently, well sure for slayer you have to be concentrated and everything but every other skill is like that so people should be used to it, also the point in playing this game is to focus on it doing whatever you want to do, not train and watch tv. Sure you run around and plant stuff then go off and do whatever, it takes hours for things to grow, and they die about 1/3 of the time ( well for me they do...) and if you want a 100% chance of succes youd have to go back and forth to every single patch to check them AND what if you forgot to go to some patches and they die or log out and not come back in time. Not to mention the money spent on seeds is alot. well slayer does use up alot of food, but with autoers and farmers food is pretty cheap compared to the older days. =/ i also have 94 fishing so im not worried about food =] also the motivation of slayer is so much more than farming, we aim to get d boots at 83 or whip at 85 or bows at 90 while at farming its like w00t i can plant stuff and collect then sell. although both are EXTREMLY hard, id have to say farming is harder not but miles but only a little. but mining is simply impossible @_@ even though lover romeo has like 150m exp!#@!%$#^
  13. the least admirable cape i would have to say is hunter or wc. woodcutting is nearly three times faster to achieve than fishing, due to the fact that a shark is 110exp while a mage or yew log is around 330ea. also hunter is so easy to raise, sure it might take a while and be excruciating, but it takes no money to achieve(since its a raw material skill, but incredibly easy), or a couple mill here and there. also momeydragon already got 200m exp in it and it only took him a couple months and thats the newest skill. while it took the str,atk and def number 1's years to achieve where they are now the most admirable is the slayer in my opinion, i have not seen a single one yet (except on forum pics) and im lvl 110 and training slayer at the moment. there are exactly 434 slayer capes that exist compared to 1153 hunter capes and 7649 wc capes another fact at rank 434 the herb lvl is 94 =0, there are 22673 fletching capes in game @_@@#@$ and for all of u that are thinking of how many cooking capes exist...its 23,822 cooking capes...and growing by the thousands each day @#@$%@#%^!!!!
  14. someone post this in the rs forums, save the game!
  15. then why do you continue to play? my idea of obession is not what you think it is i guess, like i said everyone has one.
  16. this is my first post, i dont know how to add those banners and stuff so excuse me if im breaking a rule or something. Well, my idea on this "addiction" is not about playing rs while you isolate yourself. It's about what your giving up to play it. My friend as become so obessed about this game that he's given up half a decade of friendship in order to play this game as much as he can. My friends and I have tried countless times to try and get him outside with us. Me and him shared an account, and all he called me was for the password whenever i changed it. Honestly, i think everyone that has been playing for a year or more is obessed, those facts about addiction are literal what I'm saying is figurative. Addiction is crossing the line, but obession is something everyone does, ranging from the football jocks to the nerds. Obession is perfectly normal, but addiction is where things go wrong. If your willing to stay inside playing rs with your online pen pals rather than hanging out with your real life freinds then i would say you have an issue. Don't give yourself excuses to convince yourself that your not addicted, if you are just admit it, dont lie about it. It's your choice to do what you want in your life, noone else's. But don't lie to your real life friends or any of your freinds about your obession or addiction. i usually do not comment, but i just had to. This issue is very important, friendships made on the internet cannot be as strong as real life ones. These are just my views on this topic.
