I agree that it is unecessary, given the special effects available today. It is obviously an attempt to market the movie. As for the moral implications, I personally have no problem with it. I guess it really comes down to what people believe about the bodies of deceased. My personal view is that a body is just a shell and don't care at all what happens to mine when I die. However, other people think that their body is scared even after they die. It also brings up some interesting points of discussion about rights. Do the surviving family members have any rights to say what should or should not happen to a loved ones body? Given that the choices of a person to be an organ donor or to donate their body to science research must be abided by, I would imagine person's choice to have their bodies used like this would also be upheld. Ofc, I'm no lawyer, but I think it would pretty much be the same.
