  1. I'm thinking Pirate Hooks might be one of the rarest...certainly one of the rarest still obtainable.
  2. Explain that you will play F2P just as much as you would P2P. Spend some time doing helpful things around the house for a week or so (don't mention RS during that time). Do it all at the beginning of the day, then play RS after getting some stuff done. After that, point out that you've been taking the initiative help out without being asked in hopes that you can change their mind. Promise that you will continue to do so. Don't pester them about it...prove that you can be responsible and not spend ALL of your time playing RS.
  3. This kind of thinking is why we don't have new, good, tradable holiday items anymore. People complaining that they deserve one, because they didn't log in on the holiday...ridiculous. I played during all old holiday drops, but never logged in on the actual holidays. Do I wish I had now? Of course. But, who do I blame? Myself and myself only...not Jagex. I really wish Jagex hadn't bowed down to all the complaining. That being said, they never stated that holiday drops would occur that one time only, so if they wanted they could drop Phats or Santas again...would be kinda funny actually, but they never will.
  4. cool...yes, I see how that is more accurate. Then, the factor is more like 1.104089404 (close enough for me...LOL) See kids, math is fun!
  5. not always 100% accurate, but this is close enough: Attack + Strenth, Range x 1.5, Magic x 1.5, and multiply by 0.325 on it... (THE HIGHEST! OUT OF THE 3! NOT ALL!!!) then add: Hitpoints x 0.25, + Prayer x 0.125, + Defense x 0.25
  6. Funny you should ask...I just figured it out yesterday. It's a factor of 1.1040875. The problem is that we don't know if they use rounding or truncating and we don't know if level 1 is exactly 83xp or if it's like 82.7. So, it can be a bit inaccurate at lower levels, but it's right on at upper levels. I worked out what level 200M XP (I assume this is the cap right now?) would be and it's level 126. Kinda interesting considering max combat lvl is also 126.
  7. Apparently, it's a bit more complicated, but this formula is almost always correct: Attack + Strenth, Range x 1.5, Magic x 1.5, and multiply by 0.325 on it... (THE HIGHEST! OUT OF THE 3! NOT ALL!!!) then add: Hitpoints x 0.25, + Prayer x 0.125, + Defense x 0.25 Not sure why OP's was off
  8. It's a good question and frankly I'm not sure why...LOL. I've played this account off and on since like 2001 (yes, I was around during all the rare drops, but never logged in on the actual holidays...and no I never complained about it). I actually created my first character when RS was very first released, but it was so laggy on my connection it was unplayable. There have been spans where I didn't play for up to a year or more. Sometimes have played 4-5 hrs a day and others less than 1 hour. Anyway, I think I'm not the typical RS player. I don't PK, I don't CW, I don't merchant, I don't do quests unless they'll give me an advantage in training skills and I don't chat with friends (actually there's only one person I talk to much...and he does most of the talking...LOL). I do enjoy training skils, exploring, and making money (through honest hard work). I've found that I'm always into something, whether it be RS, Utopia (online strat game I played for ~5 yrs), Yahoo Hold 'Em Poker, or another PC game (such as Oblivion, or Call of Duty). So, why Runescape? First, I've always been into fantasy stuff...I love reading fantasy genre books, playing RPGs, etc. Also, I like the fact that skills-wise you're only in competition with yourself (unless maybe you're at the top of hi-scores). In games like Utopia, they reset every few months and everyone starts over...so you always have the chance of reaching the top of hi-scores (but of course you never do, cuz someone else has way more time to play than you). In RS, I have no disillusions that I'll ever be anything exceptional. I accept that and I play for myself and my own goals. I don't compare myself (or items I have) to other players. I just set a goal, whether it be making a certain amount of money or raising a skill(s) and work towards it. It's very satisfying when I reach it. What I really enjoy, is the statistical and strategic aspects. For example, I like calculating how many lobs I need to catch to to reach next level and exactly how much cooking xp I'll have after I cook em. I like planning what I'm going to do next and then after that...etc. Some might think I'd be just as happy playing a standalone game, but I really like the economy of multi-player. I think it's interesting to watch prices and see how they change over the course of time. It's cool to think I might make something that some other player wants to buy. While I'm usually annoyed by other player's talk, occasionally, I'm entertained. Finally, for the most part, RS relaxes me (the exception is pickpocketing...makes my heart race for some reason...guess it's the fast-paced clicking). Otherwise, it is a lesiurely way to spend my time.
  9. Sheesh...kids these days...how could anyone not recognize that immediately!?! Next someone will post that they've never heard of Hanna Barbara :) "Rooby Snacks? Rah, Rah" "Jinkies!"
  10. I was thinking you might be able to use 1 runner at Al Kharid if they were using dueling rings. Not sure if the timing would work out, but might be worth a shot.
  11. can't say my rsn either...the Pf is blocked. That just happened recently. I guess it's cuz of a modified version of a certain word beginning with F?
  12. any other estimates, pls?
  13. grow your herbs with framing
  14. I'm curious about how many yew longs can be made in an hour. Assume ~70 woodcutting and including picking flax and making your own bs's, cutting bows and stringing. Please post estimates.
  15. I think my biggest was getting 1k tix in agility arena. Pretty proud of my 84 thieving too :)
  16. I would definitely change mine...when I signed up, I thought it was just login name and and would have a chance to enter a character name. Frankly, I think there'd be less hacking if "login" name was different than "character" name (not that I've ever had problems).
  17. I agree that some of the guilds could be improved, however I'd rather see new guilds for the skills that don't have one, such as Thieving, Herblore, Farming
  18. 48 might be a bit low to try for 1k tix. However, if you have a bunch of agility pots, I think you could make it work. I went from 59 to 67 getting 1k tix....took about 17-18hrs or so. BTW - my tip for agility arena is, after getting a ticket, try to move inward...gives you better chance of getting to the next. (for example, if current pillar is in the corner, the next may be in the opposite corner, which is very hard to get to in time. So, if you move closer to center, then it'll be easier).
