  1. Double Cash this Week on the Squeal of Fortune! A brand new feature has been introduced to Squeal of Fortune – now you can turn any unwanted items into coins instead! For even the luckiest spinners on the Squeal of Fortune there’s a chance you’ll win an item you don’t want to keep. Maybe you don’t have space in your inventory, or perhaps you don’t need it for the skill you’re currently working on. Now all you have to do is click the “convert to coin” button to instantly exchange the item for coins! You can hover your mouse cursor over the button to see how many coins you’ll receive before you click. To coincide with this new feature, Yelps is feeling particularly generous. Doubly so, in fact: for the next week all coin prizes are doubled! Land on the 200 million coin box and you’ll take away a massive 400 million coins! Not only are all your coin prizes doubled, the value of every item you convert to coins is doubled too! If that wasn’t enough, Yelps has greased the gears of the wheel, so when you win a double spin tickets it now gets automatically activated and added to your available spins, without the need to exit the Squeal of Fortune and locate it in your inventory. What a doubly great week on the Squeal of Fortune! Remember, during August’s Sizzling Summer, members receive three daily spins instead of one, so subscribe to increase your chances of amassing a fortune! Don’t forget to check out the Squeal of Fortune wiki page for ways of earning extra spins. Solomon's Store Six new titles are now available at Solomon’s General Store. Now you can be “The”, so there’s no mistaking you; let everyone know your potential with “Junior”; go formal with “Mr/Mrs”; demand a little respect as “Master/Miss”; add “Esquire/Ms” for an air of nobility; or announce that the “Doctor” is in! Remember that members receive a 10% discount on everything in the store, and for this week only everybody gets 25% off the Lumberjack Woodcutting and Pegasus Teleport animations! The third part of the Tropical Islander outfit is now available as part of Sizzling Summer! To pick up the grass skirt for free, head over to Solomon’s General Store. Don’t forget to renew yourmembership to ensure you don’t miss out on this and all the other great items to come during Sizzling Summer!
  2. Any clan with a citadel can now create, customise and deploy clan avatars. Summoned and controlled by designated avatar wardens within your clan, these living embodiments of your citadel can accompany you to the surface world and support your clan with an array of buffs. These buffs affect every eligible clan member within the avatar's aura of influence. Whether you're a clan of legendary warriors or a collective of shrewd artisans, your avatar has your back. Combat-focused clans will benefit from buffs that heal over time, randomly resurrect fallen clan members and redirect damage taken by clan members to the avatar. In times of peace, your avatar can increase the resource yield from citadel skill plots, double the duration of Summoning familiars, and can offer a healthy XP boost for any skill training, even outside of your citadel. Depending on the tier of your citadel, an avatar can have up to three slots for equipping these buffs, so they can be tailored to any task at hand. For an avatar to take up residence, you'll first need to build a habitat within your clan citadel. Here, clan members with the necessary permissions can designate buffs to an avatar. Other permissions can enable you to customise its appearance, choosing from four styles for each of its nine components. Your clan logo and colours will also be proudly displayed on your avatar's body, so no two avatars need ever look the same. Habitats come in three varieties, each with its own resource requirement: Basic: 3,000 timber. Medium: 30,000 timber, 30,000 precious bars. Grand: 30,000 timber, 30,000 precious bars, 30,000 rations. The basic habitat houses one avatar, while the medium habitat holds two and the grand habitat three, so the extra investment is well worth it. While your clan can only summon one avatar at a time, you'll have up to three avatars ready and waiting to assist, whatever the situation. To benefit from the clan avatar's buffs, each individual will need to pay 300 anagogic orts to the avatar, which will buy a week's access to its clan-boosting benefits. These items are non-tradable, but they can be gathered as drops from monsters throughout RuneScape, as well as during skill training - so long as you're a member of a clan. These are also used to heal your avatar when it takes damage in combat, so be sure to stock up if you're taking a clan avatar into multi-way combat or PvP! Gather your resources, muster your clan mates and summon your new secret weapon. Your clan just got a whole lot bigger. Mod Maz Queen of the Squirrels Getting Started with Clan Avatars: See the master guard at the clan camp for full details of how to build, maintain and use your clan avatar. Requirements To build a clan avatar, or benefit from its buffs, you must be a member. You must be part of a clan which owns a clan citadel. Your citadels must include a clan avatar habitat. You must pay fee of 300 anagogic orts to benefit from clan avatar buffs. This earns you a week's access to buff from avatars owned by your clan. These are non-tradable, and can be gathered from monster drops and skill training. Patch notes [hide]The following small fixes and adjustments have now been made to the game. 3. Well "the community" are idiots. If you asked everyone in the country if they'd like to pay tax yes or no, the majority would say no. But the country can't survive with noone paying tax. For the record: I was one of the 9% saying no to free trade.
  4. This is what free trade has brought us: Increased scamming Increased "hacking" Gambling and now real world violence
  5. If I was a gambling man, which I'm not, I would put money on them having links to dicers/flower game clans.
  6. This made me laugh. "I call BS"..."I call BS"..."Oh...Well in that case, free st00f plx?" ;). I'm not too stubborn to admit i was wrong when proved otherwise.
  7. You won't mind slipping a few grand my way then so I can pay off some of this mortgage? :D
  8. Fair enough couple of grand there. A far cry from the rumours of $200k that some people are claiming though.
  9. Recovery question and answers were snagged as well so if you use them for anything else with the same email address or even username then you might want to consider changing it wherever necessary as well.
  10. I didn't say chinese gold farmers I said chinese gold sellers as they are the ones selling the bulk of the GP. I'm not talking about low levels of player to player gp here on those auction sites I'm talking mass sale where for them it's a business. It's not a logical fallacy. And I thought by providing an academic source which explains in quite a lot of detail how the finances of these gold sellign companies work WAS proof to back up what I was saying. I guess I was wrong... Gonna stop posting on this thread now because it's pointless. Actually one last post because I wanted to say one last thing without getting caught up in arguments etc. Does anyone else feel that because of the whole microtransactions issue with the squeal of fortune and Solomons store that some people have lost the love of the game and perhaps feel that their achievements have been invalidated which is why they have lost that moral connection? For someone that thinks a game had already gone down the toilet, breaking the odd rule or two to them isnt really their concern anymore.
  11. Battle.net, Blizzard's online service that stores data, financial, and other personal user information for games like Diablo 3 and World of Warcraft, has been compromised, according to Mike Morhaime, Blizzard's president. "This week, our security team found an unauthorized and illegal access into our internal network here at Blizzard," Morhaime wrote on the company's website. "We quickly took steps to close off this access and began working with law enforcement and security experts to investigate what happened." Morhaime explains that Blizzard has found "no evidence" that personal information such as credit card information, billing addresses, or users' real names were accessed. However, a list of Battle.net email addresses for users outside of China, the answer to a security question, and information regarding mobile and dial-in access were accessed. Cryptographically scrambled versions of Battle.net passwords for players on North American servers were accessed. Although the passwords were encrypted, Morhaime recommends that players on these servers change their Battle.net passwords as well the same password used on any other service. In the next few days, Blizzard will prompt North American users to change their security questions and answers, and mobile authenticator users will be prompted to update their software. Blizzard also posted an FAQ to address any remaining questions.
  12. I already told you they did. I don't mean a screenshot of ingame GP I mean an actual photo of actual money a la Matt Immam/Funnyjunk
  13. You can tell me to stop all you like but there is actual academic research into gold farming and their sources quote the average chinese mass gold seller at having a turnover of about $100,000 a year. That's turnover not profit. Now even if you bulk sold to several different sites (most of them are owned by the same people) can you see why I am saying that they don't have that kinda cash to buy in the quantities claimed? If you have evidence to the contrary then post it. All this BS about "ooh I cant say because its secret squirrels stuff" is bollocks. Post it public let Jagex know, get the methods shut down or you are just as bad as the people doing it. Some of the people are claiming to have sold via player auctions but this is time consuming as most people probably only buy in low quantities. This was a bug allegedly netting billions every hour, you can't sell that off to private players quick enough. When they post a picture of the money I'll believe it Source: Current Analysis and Future Research Agenda on "Gold Farming": Real-World Production in Developing Countries for the Virtual Economies of Online Games Author: RICHARD HEEKS, Manchester University
  14. Lol do people really think the chinese gold sellers have $5,000,000 to fling at half a dozen people to buy the GP of them? These are pure unsubstantiated rumours which are most likely a load of rubbish. Of course the banned people are going to make out they they made shit loads of money from it. They got busted and are trying to come accross as winners. When they do a Matt Immam and post a picture of all the cash they so called made then maybe I'll believe it.
  15. All these people that claim to know of super secret ways of xfering items and gp please tell Jagex. It's all very well stroking your ego by posting about it on forums that you know but unless you tell Jagex you are spoiling the game for everyone including yourself.
  16. But unusual transaction activity is sure going to ring alarm bells somewhere. I had a phone call from the bank once when I was sent a relatively small amount money from a country in europe! And tax evasion sure is breaking the law.
  17. But some of them are dumb enough to activate monetisation on their videos and in theory Jagex could get their personal details from YouTube/Google.
  18. There will always be lots of rumour and myth about this now but I wonder how much gp was actually converted to real money. I'm pretty sure if I was a bank manager and suddenly thousands of pounds started appearing in one of my clients accounts from china that I'd be pretty suspicious of something dodgy going on like laundering. It would appear that it was faster to dupe the cash than to actually get rid of it.
  19. That's play time as in the time spent in-game not the days since account creation. RS Completed has spent 7,248 hours playing runescape. I don't believe the rumours about people making hundreds of thousands of dollars. At that kind of bulk they wouldn't be getting anywhere near what the sale value it to customers. Plus I find it hard to believe that the gold seller sites wouldn't think something was suspect about one person suddenly having loads of GP to sell them in bulk.
  20. Wow they haven't named and shamed for years. Well done Jagex!
  21. If you can't restore to when it was working and can't get admin access then you're pretty much stuck.
  22. I've tried the beta dozens of times and I always do the weekend events but I still have no clue what I'm doing. It's unlikely I'll bother doing any combat once the beta officially comes out.
  23. If my calculations are right, this guy made like $200,000. Holy shit. A legend was born. A legend?... not quite. I doubt he paid any tax on that money. Not only do we as players suffer from this illegally aquired money but so does the country he lives in. I hope someone dobs him in to the authorities.
  24. But they CAN tell us how many times people say "lol" in-game and how many people spin the SoF... #prioritiesfail
