  1. Why do you say flash is at the end of its life? If anything, I see tons more people adopting it for their casual games and site elements. Games fair enough but if anyone is using flash over html5/jquery etc for site elements they are living in the wrong decade.
  2. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to play RuneScape with only 7 billion gp. Good luck at uni, maybe see you again some day.
  3. And actually its better for them to have the complaints on the RSOF because they can use robots.txt to stop google indexing the rants. When people post about them on other sites they have no say in their page rank or search results etc.
  4. But they don't care what you say about IVP unless it is going to appear in search engines. That's why the phrase 'Insight Venture Partners' is just the bit that's censored.
  5. Personally I use F-Secure. I've used Kaspersky in the past but Eugene Kaspersky has been a bit of a PR [bleep] lately with all the stuff about Flame and Find & Call. I find Mikko at F-Secure knows his stuff a lot better and I put trust in the company he works for. It also protects from a lot of RAT (keylogger) variants.
  6. Not necessarily. Plus it's not difficult for a phisher to also have access to usernames to mailmerge as well.
  7. Not seen that particular email text before. Interesting they bring up the John Doe courtcase (which is for botting and not real world trading) to try to get an air of authenticity.
  8. My first thought was that your friend is lying. Have you seen yourself that the message says 2000 as the year? As far as I'm aware muting wasnt available as an option until RS2.
  9. lol. wanted to type a longer response to your post but i have to go to a planning sub-meeting to discuss the agenda for tomorrows proper meeting.
  10. lol at King Solomon of England being famous for "introducing ruthlessly efficient mechanisms of taxation". Yep. sounds like runecoins.
  11. That's because RS used to be different from all the other idiotic (generally asian) MMO's. Now it's turning into one of those games. Usually MMO's have a) a monthly fee or b) microtransactions. Of course Jagex seems to be part of the "Why not both?" school of thought now. P2p Loyalty points Squeel spins Runecoins
  12. That's because you can hide armour/weapons under the new clothing apparently. Why doesn't armour just trump "customisations" then. e.g If you have the Guy Fawkes mask and put on a helmet it disappears until you take it off.
  13. It's a little odd that you cant pk or even enter the wilderness with those customisations. Perhaps if the squeel didn't exist I might be ok with this update. Microtransactions for purely cosmetic (no stats or xp bonuses) items.
  14. Still nothing on homepage. I think that even the jmods are so embarassed by this awful decision to introduce yet more RWT into the game that they can't bear to upload the news post.
  15. Breakdance emote. Greyed out, presumably it's part of Solomons shop which will require you to BUY it with real money instead of loyalty points.
  16. Jagex can't even do microtransactions right. NORMALLY you either have a p2p model or f2p with microtransactions, RuneScape has both. But then to make it even worse they have TWO types of microtransactions... the Squeel AND now runecoins/Solomon... :S This can only end in disaster.
  17. Pic of back Emote - Jumps in the air in a cross shape then the letter X appears and you break out of it.
  18. If the advert is within the java client then adblock will do bugger all as you've already allowed runescape to run.
  19. Saw someone with a SGS3 last night at a gig and he was really fumbling with it trying to take a picture and dropped it twice (caught it once). Not sure if that was because of its size or just because he had butter fingers though.
  20. Has the unlock for long standing/trusted members been canned or is that still a possibility?
  21. Can you summarise in brief words so i dont need to listen to an 11 minute podcast?
  22. It depends how geeky you want to be with your phone. I have a HTC Desire which I rooted to install Gingerbread on it (my network operator refused to push out the update) but I'm leaning towards getting an iPhone as my next phone for simplicity. I already have an iPad and AppleTV and it would just be a lot more convenient to have the set. People can get quite emotive and argue about mobile operating systems but they all do pretty much the same thing and the same apps are available for most platforms.
  23. Why does everyone obsess over making runescape video guides on youtube rather than making a nice detailed post with all the information on it anymore? I must prefer a written guide with the occasional picture if it's of relevance than watching clips on YouTube. I wonder if by any chance it has anything to do with revenue from adverts...
  24. One X and SGS3 are great spec phones but massive screens. It's a shame that no manufacturer makes the high hardware specs with smaller screens anymore. Sony have recently split from Ericsson and their newer Xperia stuff looks quite nice. Have you considered the Galaxy Nexus, its a slightly smaller screen than SGS (but not much) but it's the pure Android experience without all the stupid Samsung TouchWiz or Sense UI elements lagging the phone. It will also be first phone to run Jelly Bean (Android 4.1). Then there is of course the mystery of the iPhone 5. But you'll have to wait til september/october time for that.
