Have you tried factory resetting the router? Ive done a "soft" reset but not a complete back to factory settings because then i fear i wont be able to connect it up at all. Is the router in a hot area and may be overheating? It used to be, but ive turned it on its site and opened the front of the desk out to air it through. Is there a conenction lose on the router? No checked all connections Have you tried another cat5 cable to insure that that isn't the problem? Brought back one from work, i thought that the cable was the original problem. :(

In the UK most ISP's will provide you with a static ip if you want for about a couple of quid extra a month. Try reading up on your ISP's website for it.

I beliove they are exccelent in theory but extensive long term studies need to be done to make sure its right and no damage to the ecosystem will be done. You could release a strain of a GM plant that cross pollimnates with a weed to create soem super weed that cant be killed. You just dont know and only long term testing will ever yeild the answers.

One of the things i rediscovered yesterday after not using for ages was the http://www.last.fm radio. You type in the names of a few bands you like and tell it to play music youve never heard before and it will start to play loads of new bands that it thinks you like. Its thanks to last.fm that I found Stream of Passion, Spock's Beard and After Forever by asking for similar artists to Ayreon ^_^

Ok last hope methinks. Kinda hoping that som1 here had the same router and can give a bit of advice... Ive got a Linksys WAG54G V.2 wireless router and its cirrently unusable. Random dicconections and dropping out both on wireless and wired has meant i have had to plug in an old BT Voyager 100 in my UBS port. Now this works but means i have no wireless functionality and any of the other stuff i had with my router. Please please please can someone who knows what they are talking about (Anasthesia, Hannibal ect) help me identify the problem? I tried searching google and found a load of other ppl having the same issue but with no solution. I tried looking for an updated firmware on their site but no luck again :( Any help would be good, cheers

Replacing fans is alas what im gonna have to do. I just put a new reservour into my pc which dropped temps down a few more degrees. Got a bunch of apps open and its at 28 degrees :D not too bad i could probs drop another degree if i closed some stuff i didnt need too :D Can anyone reccomend some virtually silent 120mm fans please? Dont been to be fancy with flashing lights or UV reactive plastic lol.

When i fit my new reservour next weel ill have a play around and see if the fan is loose or something, clean out dust and see if i can get it a bit quieter. Otherwise theres fans from vantec which are supposed to be very quiet. i need to have a poke around the front of my case really. Could do with a bit of reorganising, i need to get a new DVD writer too soon :(

We all love our PC's and we especially love them when they are nice and quiet. Unfortunatly high end pcs tend to run VERY hot now so its not uncommong to have a fan whirring away noisly inside a computer these days. Mine unfortunatly is especially bad. I currently have watercooling on my CPU using the Thermaltake BigWater kit. I have also just purchased a new reservior for my pc so it can hold more coolant and will be easier to upgrade (when I got my kit it didnt come with one). I am also considering getting the waterblock for the graphics card but im not really bothered about that right now as it seems to be pretty quiet. So ive basicly got two fans running in my PC right now, one at the back blowing the radiator and one at the front sucking in air over the hard drive... now its the front one thats a right pain in the bitt. Its sooooooooo noisy that you can hear it even when my bedroom door is closed. Now it doesnt bother me when im listening to music but if i want to watch tv at the same time then i have to have it really loud which annoys other ppl etc. The simple solution would simply be to replace the fan in the front for about a tenner which i will probably end up doing but i cant help pondering the possibility of not having a fan at all and was enquiring into other forms of hard drive cooling. Thermaltake make a HDD waterblock which will cool it down so I dont need the fan but I want to know of other peoples experiences with hard drive cooling and what tecniques people have used to keep things both cool and quiet. Yes i agree you shouldn't mess with your pc while in warranty which is why paying money for 3 year protection is just rubbish, especially if its a return to base. The chances of anything going wrong with a pc in its second and third year are slim, if they are any problems you'll know pretty soon into year 1, and it means you cannot upgrade or even as you say add memory without breaking the warranty agreement. All parts in a computer are covered by a 1 year warranty as standard, its the law, i would never throw money away on something for 3 years, especially as i don't think i could even go 3 years without taking it apart and adding something new lol But you must stop keeping on about Dell computers only working with Dell RAM because it is a false statement. You are seriously misinformed. Crucial make compatable RAM for ALL Dell computers (or at least the select few i checked up on) currently on the market. Dell Dimension 110 and [compatable memory] Dell Precision 670 and [compatable memory] Dell XPS600 and [compatable memory] Above are 3 example i got links for you to look at. Its one from the home range, one from the high end business range and the other is a high power gaming machine. Maybe now you will belive me?
