  1. Yeah, I really like how the WIP looks, it seems to be coming out better than the anime face. It also seems to prove my point about black hair and red dresses :D
  2. The dress is definiately very well done, but for some reason I feel like darker hair would fit it better.
  3. Although I think it might look better if you used a black edge instead of a white one, the actual piece looks great, very neat and clean. The composition is great too.
  4. Big Trouble In Little China, it's Lo Pan :D Not too hard either :P
  5. The sticks have to be the same type, but the memory size doesn't matter. For example, my computer uses two sticks of PC3200 400Mhz ram, one 512mb and one 256mb, for a total of 768mb.
  6. That can easily be prevented if you just walk around the office/room/whatever for a few minutes every hour or so.
  7. That .gif reminds me of a "Horn of Gondor" one that I won't post here, since it's kinda inappropriate :P
  8. I know that the story is kinda hard to get into right now, so I'll wait until a better moment for my first post. However, I'm posting my profile now so that you can approve/reject it. ~~~ Name: Skios (Name given by the circle, birthname unknown) Race: Human, with one elven grandparent (details unknown) Height: 1.90 meters/6'4 Weight: 75kgs/165 lbs Gender: Male Skills: -Combat: Skios' main weapon is his longbow, with which he is an excelent marksman. His skills in melee combat aren't quite as developed, although he does have some very basic training. -Magic: Skios also knows druidic magic, but as he only has a few years of training and his own improvisations to rely on his spells tend to be somewhat erratic. Because of this, he generally uses them only as a last defense. -Other skills: Skios is an accomplished herbalist. He combines this knowledge with his basic druidic skills, mainly for healing purposes. However, he'll occasionally use poison to take down particularly stubborn opponents and certain stimulating herbs to aid his allies. Equipment: A basic leather armor, a longbow and quiver of arrows, a small combat knife and a pouch with various herbs and poisons. Bio: Skios led an uneventful life as the fourth child in a family of farmers living in a small hamlet in the western lands, spending his days herding sheep and playing in the fields. At the age of 8 he suddenly found himself orphaned by a fire that flattened most of his village. He spent a few days wandering the fields, but hunger and thirst soon would have put an end to his short life if he wasn't found by a group of travelling druids. The druids took him to a small grove deep within a forest he didn't recognize. There the druids left him to the care of the circle that tended the forest around the grove. From that day on he would spend his days learning about the plants and trees that grew in the forest, as well as the animals that dwelled there. At the age of thirteen he started learning the ways of the ranger, and recieved teachings in the use of weapons such as the bow and crossbow, as well as tending the forest and it's wildlife and basic druidical magic, rituals and meditation. It seemed the young boy had talent for the ways of Guthix, but he made one fatal flaw: he fell in love. A young local girl by the name of Hecela had caught his eye and his heart, and they would have regular meetings at the edge of the forest. One evening the head druid aproached him, saying that he was ready for the final rites of maturity, which would take place the next full moon, after which he would start studies in advanced forms of druidical magic. The soaring hopes the young man got from this news were soon dashed to the ground by the head druid, who proclaimed that he would be cast out of the order if he continued to indulge in his love for Hecala. The full moon was still days away, and Skios decided that he would have one final meeting with the girl. However, she didn't turn up that night, and when he snuck out the following day he found that Hecala and her family had moved away, and none of the townspeople seemed to know whereto. Convinced that the head druid was behind the sudden dissapearance of his love, Skios stormed his quarters, demanding an explanation. The head druid calmly explained that he felt that Hecala was an obstacle in the development of the young man's talents, and that he had forced her family to move to make sure that he wouldn't be tempted. Furious by this interference, Skios cast a spell that sent a cloud of thorns flying to the head druid. Allthough this only wounded the man's ego, the head druid was enraged by his insolence, and declared that Skios was no longer a member of the circle, and that he was forbidden from using the druidical magics he'd learned. Furiously Skios stormed away from the circle, keeping only his bow and arrows and the clothes on his body. He vowed never to use druidical magic again. He spent the next two years wandering the lands as a hunter, taking from the forest what he needed and returning what he could, only approaching civilized areas when he needed new clothing or weapons. One day he was running through the forest, tracking the trails of a large bear, when he suddenly heard screams. He turned in his tracks, racing towards the source of the noise. He arrived at a small lake, where he saw a boy thrashing in the water. Without second thought, the ranger took of his leather armour and dove in the water, racing towards the child. He arrived just in time to see the boy go under. Shaken by this tragedy, he soon realized he could have saved the boy if only he had commanded the water to part, a basic form of magic he had mastered years ago. Deciding he needed to do penance for this tragedy and hoping he could prevent things like that from ever happening again, the young ranger retreated to a small cave, where he lived as a hermit for years, training himself in the druidical magics he had once vowed never to use again. One day he found his meditation brutally disturbed by the head druid he ran away from years ago, who demanded that he'd come with him to face trial for "Unresponsible use of ancestral magics". Before he could reply, he found himself bound at hands and feet by thick vines that dragged him out of the cave. It became painfully obvious that he was going to be dragged across the lands like a hunter's prize. Unwilling to face trial, humiliation and punishment at the druids that ruined his life, Skios send out a mental command to a patch of mushrooms growing within the roots of one of the trees they passed. With a small pop, the mushrooms bursted, sending out their spores in a stiffling cloud. With the druid's concentration broken, Skios quickly freed himself from the vines and dashed away, leaving the druid swearing and cursing. From that day on, the ranger wandered the lands, hoping that one day he'd be reunited with Hecala, helping people with his skills as a ranger and his magics, forever looking over his shoulder out of fear for the druids that still chased him.
  9. http://www.last.fm/index.php. You'll have to download a plugin for the mediaplayer you use and register on the site. When you're done, it should end up looking something like this.
  10. Heh, might as well download Opera now, allthough like Phil I doubt I'll switch... I'm just grateful they saved me the trouble of looking up a code from a... less legitimate source :P

To be honest, I'm still not convinced that this movie will be in any way worthy of the name. The first-person thing looks nifty, but I think it's little more than a gimmick. The only reason it works so well in videogames is because it lets you control the action. A movie just can't do that. The special effects are nice, but a movie will need to do a lot more than just look pretty *cough*newstarwarsmovies*cough*. Still, that one shot with the chainsaw at the end shows that there might be hope yet...

It depends on what kind of zombies. Personally, that whole decomposing thing they have going on just doesn't do it for me. If I'm going to revive dead bodies as minions, I'd probably want them to blend in. The whole pale skin thing can be patched up with a little makeup here and there, but missing limbs and unidentifiable fluids oozing from orfices that shouldn't be present on a human body are a little harder to mask up.
  13. Heh, I tend to sleep a lot on the bus home, and as a result I have sleep spasms quite often. One time I was sitting next to a frail old lady when I had one, and she just stared at me in horror for a few seconds before getting up and quickly scurrying to the other end of the bus to get as far away from me as possible :P
  14. Part 4 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅI am sorry, but I believe that this simulation is impossible-̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Å ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅThat̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s not important. What is important is your ability to improvise. Improvising is the first step on the road to improvement. Your missions will get more complicated. Improving your abilities will not be about success. It will be about survival.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  15. I suppose it happens when you're not paying attention. Walking happens semi-automatically, since it's just a constant repetition of movements, sort of like breathing. The same goes for walking up a set of stairs. Your body raises your feet higher than normal, until you notice that you're at the end of the stairs and should continue your normal walking pattern. However, if you don't notice this your foot will be raised at stair-hight and then brought down again. Since it doesn't hit solid ground when expected, you'll loose your ballance.
  16. When I was fifteen, I went under full anestethic for surgery to my knee. I was on the operating table, one of the doctors pressed a button on a machine, and told me to count to ten. Before I got to three I was completely blacked out, and I woke up a few hours later in the recovery room. Somehow during those few hours the consciousness I seem to have during sleep seemed to be completely gone. I wasn't even aware of the fact that time had passed. My best guess is that such a permanent, complete loss of consciousness is what death is like. Btw, for some reason this thread immediately reminded me of the song Hallowed Be Thy Name by Iron Maiden: Mark my words please believe my soul lives on Please don't worry now that I have gone I've gone beyond to see the truth When you know that your time is close at hand maybe then you'll begin to understand Life down there is just a strange illusion.
  17. The reason the character has money now was because he got half the pay of his current job in the first chapter:
  18. My thunder comes before the lightning; my lightning comes before the clouds; my rain dries all the land it touches. What am I?
  19. Only if you have the Gamecube version, those added cutscenes at the end with Wesker are soooo cool :P
  20. Hah, there has yet to be a RE movie that does the games justice. My favourite RE game is the remake of the first game for the Gamecube. The graphics are top notch, and if you've played the original on the Playstation it can seriously mess with your head. There's an entire new subplot around the original inhabitants of the mansion that involves three boss fights, the supporting character system has been completely redone, and plenty of puzzles and fight scenes have been redone. For example, in the hallway where the Cerberus dogs jump through the windows in the original, the windows just crack when you walk through the first time. Then, when you think it's safe and head through a second time, you'll be mauled before you can pull out your shotgun
  21. Part 3 By the time Thomas reached his apartment, he had already made up his mind about he̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢d spend his new wealth. He had spent three blocks walking with his hands jammed firmly in his pockets, continuously folding and creasing the notes so that they wouldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t raise suspicion. He didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t walk directly to his apartment however, he had some shopping to do first. The 24-hour convenience store was only slightly less of a shamble than the rest of the district. Inside, the shelves were packed with the kind of food that people outside the poor districts wouldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t even feed to their dogs. The black and white tiles of the floor were sticky with filth, and the glaring lights filled the room with a constant, irritating buzzing that would drive lesser men insane. Without looking at the labels, Thomas grabbed three soup cans and headed over to the cashier. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅWill that be all?̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  22. I think Lupin tells Harry that in the final conversation before he leaves Hogwarts (third book).
  23. I am :P I grow rot and I rot growth, what am I?
  24. I'm sorry, but the big black letters saying "SMOKING CAUSES CANCER" printed on every pack don't stop me, why would this? Also, is there some sort of chemical in cigarettes I haven't heard of that somehow causes you to be rude? Besides, as a pixel sig it's hardly any good, especially the lining. Try to keep all lines a single pixel wide. It helps.
  25. That reminds me of an episode of Dark Angel where, to get access to a facility protected by an iris scanner, they jump some guy and gouge out his eye with a teaspoon. Not entirely unlikely to happen
