  1. Well, for what it's worth, we have two flights of stairs... happy now?
  2. Meh, considering that Hiddink managed to get South Korea to the semi's during the last tournament, there might be hope for Australia yet :P
  3. Part 8 When the lid slid off Tetra̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s sleeping capsule, she somehow couldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t find the strength to get out immediately. It took her a few minutes, but when she pulled herself out a blind panic suddenly gripped at her. Was she malfunctioning, would they dismantle her? Trying to shake the confusion, she quickly put on the clothes that were waiting for her on the table. To her surprise, they were identical to what she wore the night she headed outside, the night she heard the music̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ would this mean they would let her go out again? Or would they̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ she could not bring herself to think it. The note that came with the clothes told her to go to the briefing room. As she walked down the endlessly white hallways, the facility̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s employees ignored her as always. Still, she couldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t help but shake the idea that something about them was̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ different somehow. If she had been more human she probably would have blamed it on her imagination, but as it was she wasn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t even aware of the fact that she had an imagination. She walked a little faster, still feeling slightly nervous. As always, the door swung open as soon as she placed her hand on the glass plate of the scanner. She stepped into the empty chamber beyond and sat on the chair, waiting for what was to come. For some reason, a small glass vial containing a clear blue liquid was lying on the table, along with a neat wad of bills, but she ignored them. If it was of any importance to her, her superiors would let her know in the briefing. She sat perfectly still, staring at the wall, waiting for the voice of the Doctor. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅGood morning Tetra, I hope you slept well?̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  4. Better hide this topic from Meesy :P
  5. In Holland, all foreign languages that are part of the curriculum are split into level 1 and 2. Level 1 is mandatory for all pupils, and it only covers basic reading, writing and vocabulary. Level 2 is mandatory for English and optional for French and German. It also covers spoken language, more extensive writing and reading, and literature. The idea is that in colleges and universities, not all study resources will be available in Dutch, so with some basic training the pupils will also be able to use sources in other languages.
  6. It looks really nice, it kinda reminds me of a video game sprite. However, one minor issue I have with the helmets is that the black decorations over the visor kinda look like eyes, making the visor itself looking like a grinning mouth.
  7. The Gameboy, Gameboy Pocket and Gameboy Colour were only released in six different colours or so. I believe from the Gameboy Advance and on they started releasing more models.
  8. Part 7 Thomas felt a cold fear grip at his heart. Heavy footsteps pounded across the floorboards, approaching the bedroom door. Not sure what else he could do, he threw himself into the large closet. He managed to shut the door just in time, his impact softened by various items of clothing. Thomas wasn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t sure if he was imagining things, but a pungent smell of sweat penetrated his nostrils the moment the door swung open. The person outside the closet was obviously quite fat, which was a rarity in these days of what people called ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâthe hidden famine̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢. It wasn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t the quantity of food that was a problem, it was the quality. Even though the government fervently denied it, more and more people simply dropped dead in the streets, their bodies wracked by a constant lack of vitamins. There was food aplenty, yet the entire world was hungry. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅWill you hurry up? He̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s obviously not here either, and it looks like he hasn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t been for days.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  9. I'd say put your contacts in first. That way any makeup that could be left on your fingers or any spills you might have made won't make the lenses dirty.
  10. When you think that they supposedly considered well over 200 actors, all the way up to Hugh Grant ( :? ), I think it's safe to say they've had enough time to think about it to prevent themselves from making a huge mistake. I think we might as well give the movie the benefit of the doubt for the moment...
  11. Oh noes!!!1!  Seriously... on one end of the earth people with serious injuries have to recieve surgical treatment with only a flap of plastic to shield them from the rain because the earthquake that levelled their homes also brought down every hospital in a fifty mile radius, and on the other end of the earth entire villages are buried under the mud, mud so thick that people don't even bother digging out the bodies. In the past week, tens of thousands died to some of the worst natural disasters in world history. And you have an A- Boohoo
  12. Heh, that's nasty... Especially the undiscovered fungus. Makes you wonder what else is spawning in there. "Attack of the mutant underground virus!" sounds like a killer 50's horror flick :P
  13. I've been using a TI-83 for years now, still capable of doing everything it has to do. More people here use a 83+ though... oh well, I can still play Bubble Bobble on mine, so I'm not complaining :P
  14. Well, that was depressing... :( Oh well, congratulations to Terley.
  15. I'm trying as hard as I can, but school still takes priority over writing casually. First test week of the year coming up soon, and I simply can't afford to waste time right now. Should have a new chapter up by october 15th :?
  16. I managed to pick up second hand copies of Reckoning Night, Winterheart's Guild and Ecliptica, all by Sonata Arctica and for less than the price of one new album :P
  17. I might order the dvd with my birthday money, but I doubt it's even available on this side of the North Sea... Guess I'll have to import it :|

Shelled peanuts are fun, but they make too much of a mess so I prefer to buy them pre-deshelled (is that even a word?).
  19. *twitch* *twitch* ... *twitch*
  20. Even if there is the slightest amount of truth in that, I think it probably has to do with the fact that most p2p users are quite young, and therefor more likely to take risks. Still bs though.
  21. I accidentally... yeah, that's the word, accidentally saw the movie about two months ago, and it really is quite funny. Although most tv shows/movies they take a shot at are typically American, I did understand most of the jokes. The restaurant scene is probably one of the funniest bits in the movie.
  22. Oh man, that really sucks. Part of me wants to buy that sig just to keep the shop open... Anyway, can't the guy be banned under forum rules?
  23. Although what you're asking shouldn't be too hard to do, I'm afraid all images on the site are probably copyrighted.
  24. Heh, I'll never forget those pics on one of the first google sites, where they showed off their equipment. Should have some of those around somewhere, one of them was of a case partly made of lego... Somehow I think their servers have gotten a bit more extensive in those seven years... ~Edit: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.google.com. The archived version of 1998 seems to be down, but otherwise it's a nice overview of the evolution of google over the years.
