  1. Part 2 For some time, Tetra stared blankly at the inhabitants of club Wonderland. Nobody paid her any attention in return, but this suited her just fine. The music was an odd sensation, there was something about it that she couldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t quite put her finger on. Still, it made her decide to wait for the signal to return inside the club in stead of out on the streets as was expected of her. When asked, she told herself, she would just tell her superiors that she couldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t leave the club without drawing unneeded attention to herself, something they had been very specific about during her briefing. Finally Tetra heard a series of soft beeps, barely audible over the sounds of her surroundings. She pulled the phone out of her purse and read the message that consisted of only one word. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅReturn.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  2. Wow, thanks, second part should be up later today. But what's with the Babelfish-Dutch?
  3. They were right. The Dreamweb consumes you. Psychosomatic heroin they called it. For the first time since he plugged in, Thomas realized that they were right. The story you're about to read is a translation of the first chapter of a story I wrote in Dutch about three years ago. Since English is not my first language, there's bound to be some basic gramatical/spelling mistakes in it. I've never finished the story, but I might after I finish translating the first chapters. Shortly put, it's set in a random metropole about thirty years into the future. More details will be given in later chapters. I've translated and revised it a lot, but it's still campy as hell. To prevent any confusion: The Dreamweb: A network not entirely unlike the internet, which is projected directly into the user's mind. However, the strain of the artificial stimuly will gradually damage the user's body and mind. Stay in for too long, and you'll end up looking like, and functioning like, little more than a walking corpse. For this reason, most people consider the Dreamweb an abberation of what the internet is. The users, called Dreamers, consider it an evolution, even though being a Dreamer means they're generally shunned by society. Without further ado: The Dreamweb Part 1 Thomas stared blankly at his reflection in the murky pool of rainwater at his feet. His pale, angular face stared up at him, distorted slightly by the raindrops that were still coming down in a steady torrent. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅA damned shame̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâæÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  4. To be honest, I don't really like how the purple eyebeams dominate the entire pic. Also, I feel like you could have done a lot more with the clock/hourglass in the background. Still, it looks really nice.
  5. I'm not going to nitpick about how I think it looks more like a dryad then an elf, I just want to say it's a really nice piece. I really like the attention you payed to the background.
  6. From what I heard, the hurricane is supposed to be really damaging even though the winds are relatively weak. Something about bringing in more rain than normal and moving really slow.
  7. Oh man, the only way you could make it rock more would be making it an animated .gif :P
  8. Yup, the two grooves with white clips on either side of them are your ram slots.
  9. Ugh, I see enough of this on just about every other forum I visit. This is the media board. Go draw a pretty bunny with your crayons, ask mommy or daddy to put it in the computer for you, and then show it to us. I'll consider putting it in my sig then.
  10. Somehow this doesn't surprise me at all, just look at the development of Ozzfest over the years and the way Sharon has been behaving in general. There's a really funny movie about it on Newgrounds, but I doubt the name of the series will get through the language filter here.
  11. Wow, and what you know about Mr. Expert?! Maybe you think its a dumb idea cuz you havent got any better one! And no there isnt going to be a politial batlle, only if people dont respect the other users choice. Yeah, why not PM someone and say: "You soo cool, sen me you MSN, so I can bother you all day saying I love you". Friends are good, and popularity aswell. But why cant people have fans? If some tip.it like for ex Nadril work and its a fan of him, maybe he can express it without bothering Nadril with tons of PMs. Yeah, maybe you dont know anything, or just a little, very little. You complaing cuz you dont have one? Are you jellous? Nice ad hominem attacks to start off and end an argument with, those will really help you plead your case. You say it's not going to be a 'politial batlle', but the post by Paw_Claw already proved the opposite: Anyway, I'm sure you mean all the best when you make these, but all they will do is promote elitism and animosity. And just to make sure, I'm not jealous that I don't have one, and even if I did have one I'd probably ask you to remove it.
  12. Ah, now that you mention it... It's just kinda hard to see them properly as they're all covered up except for Stewie.
  13. I really like it, but then again I always enjoy a spot of minimalism. It looks really nice and clean, allthough the style of the text hardly matches the image in the lower right corner, so I'd change that. Also, maybe a nice way to expand it a little is by giving the shilouette more shadows, as if there were multiple lightsources.
  14. I'm sorry, but how is this anything other than just a mild form of spawn, changing the numbers on items in your inventory takes little to no skill...
  15. I'm sorry, but all these things seem to do is promote a form of elitism that this board really doesn't need. For every one you make, there will be three people feeling incredibly insulted that they don't have one. I personally have not heard of any of the names mentioned in that post. Maybe that's because I rarely browse the forums outside of OT and the media boards, but my point is that hardly anybody here browses all subforums on a regular basis. This means that there will always be people asking why they didn't get one while someone else did. In the end this will only lead to a lot of unneeded hostility. Just my $0,02, don't hate me for it >.>
  16. This one looks really nice, I like what you did with it, but may I ask what the 'C M L P S' in the corners stand for?
  17. It looks really nice and I like the concept, but the edges of the cards come out pretty bad against a dark background.
  18. Go to http://www.good-tutorials.com and search for 'Text'. Most tutorials are for photoshop, but they can be helpful.

NP: Sonata Arctica - The End Of This Chapter Full lyrics. It's a great song about a guy that can't let go of his ex-girlfriend and has turned into a stalker. From the phone conversation at the beginning, the entire song gives you a great view into how twisted his mind really is, and how convinced he is that he's allowed to do what he is doing because he considers the girl 'his' in every aspect. The way that the singer twists his voice at just the right moments really emphasizes that.

Sonata Arctica - My Selene Endymion was a handsome shepherd boy of Asia Minor, the mortal lover of the moon goddess Selene. Each night he was kissed to sleep by her. She begged Zeus to grant him eternal life so she might be able to embrace him forever. Zeus complied, putting Endymion into eternal sleep and each night Selene visits him on Mt. Latmus, near Milete, in Asia Minor. The ancient Greeks believed that his grave was situated on this mountain.
  21. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixel_art Wikipedia is your friend ;)
  22. Actually, I really like that sig even if I'm not a Christian. The graphics themselves are great, and so is the way the aspects of the religion are linked to Runescape.
  23. Lois: Peter, what did you promise me? Peter: That I wouldn't drink at the stag party. Lois: And what did you do? Peter: Drank at the stag pa-- ... Whoa. I almost walked into that one. Too bad we barely get any Family Guy on tv over here. Luckily, there's always the internet :P

My first ever lego set, bought for me by my dad on the day I was born. It has a special place in my display, easily my favourite thing in there. It has lights and sounds, and it can even play different sounds by turning the knob on top.

I *hate* the direction taken with lego roughly since 1999, which is when the commercial tie-ins began. It has really lost it's appeal to me, the way it used to stimulate you to experiment with your own constructions. If I wanted to be told what I can and can't play, I'd be a Playmobil addict. The only modern series I've liked are the 'Designer Sets', that basicly just come with a big heap of parts and a booklet with about a dozen possible models and ideas for a lot more. Those are the only ones that remind me of how the old sets used to stimulate creativity... I do however still buy old sets at conventions/off ebay, since I've been collecting sets of the Knights series from 1978-1998. I have four large castles, about thirty smaller sets, a large crate of unsorted parts and 63 figures besides the ones that belong to the sets I own. My pride and joy is the original castle, complete to the piece, with box and booklet in good condition.
