  1. Right now there are four layers: Background (solid black), eye, wood, tape. The tape and the eye layer have transparant parts.
  2. Obviously you can't see it now, but behind the wood layer there's an image I'd like to make visible by putting a realistic hole in the wall. The best I've been able to come up with so far is a simple eraser job: Obviously, it looks terrible. I'd like a few pointers on how to make a hole that looks like it's been punched out of the wall, with splintering and stuff. I've tried looking for a tutorial, but all search returns I get for 'hole' are either bullet holes or black holes. Thanks in advance :)
  3. I mostly use mspaint for my isometric pixels, although I prefer GraphicsGale for the finishing touches since it has layers and a better palette than Paint.
  4. It really depends on the way the glasses are worn, for both guys and girls. In general, it can either make them look moor geeky, or more intelligent.
  5. I saw it on the news this morning, the footage was quite spectacular, with that tire bursting into flame and all. The heat generated by that much friction must be insane. It's amazing that pilots can keep their wits about them in circumstances like that, but I guess the years of training they get before they fly those huge passenger planes does that to them.

  7. I've already typed out the next three chapters, but since they're probably the most important part of the story, and incidentally also the beginnings of what *might* be a large body count, I'll keep editing them until I'm absolutely sure they work.
  8. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Apocalyptica yet. It's a Finnish cello band (all members have a classical music education) that started out by playing Metallica covers. In the last few years they've evolved into a very distinct sound of their own. If you look for them in the music stores they'll probably be under metal or alternative. Although they occasionally use other instruments on their later albums, their sound is still defined by the cello. The best album to get would be Reflections or Reflections Revisited (Revisited has a few aditional tracks and a dvd with several live videos and one music video).
  9. One member to ctrl+v an old joke already posted 23 times without adding anything substantial.
  10. I have no idea what music it is, but I still appreciate that you came to us with your question ;) *cough* Anyway, it probably was mixed up just for the movie, although I'm not 100% sure...
  11. Wow, a sub-$200 introduction price suddenly makes it a lot easier for me to get it on launch. Being cheap (in a good way) really seems to be their thing in the last few years, just look at the introduction price for the Gamecube and Nintendo DS...
  12. I have to say, the flashing is just too fast. Thanks to that and the fact that the text is a little too blurred the text is a little too hard to read.
  13. Well, if he's dressed in full white, then I think we can be pretty sure about his motives for planting it. Anyway, the Japanese swastika points the other way. I wonder if JAGeX could see this in the logs if you reported it...
  14. Right, mind if I just add #Darkwebz Mafia to it before I add it to my script?
  15. The ranger seems a bit portly for his class. Also, his armour doesn't really look like leather, the bow could be a little bit thicker, and both the hands need some work. Try extending the thumb of the hand holding the bow to be above the index finger, and a bowstring is usually pulled back with just the index and middle finger, with the arrow wedged between them. Finally, the warrior could use a little more detail and the sky doesn't really fit the the wilderness... Other than that, it's a nice sig. I really like the ranger's hair, he reminds me of Valygar (sp), a ranger from Baldur's Gate II. The linework and shading are also very clean.

I wonder why there's such a surge in rippings all of the sudden... maybe there should be a sticky for them, either to report them or just to tell people to pm the original owner of the ripped sig.
  18. *hopes the script doesn't show the PETA sig* Anyway, for what subject exactly do you have to write the subject? Anyway, you could do some research into how much vitamins/minerals/other essential stuff the average vegetarian gets from his diet compared to the average meat eater, and then as a final product you could design a food supplement that fills up the holes in a vegetarian diet.
  19. Meh, high school now seems a lot more managable than it was when I started. The main reason is that I'm now in my final year, which means that I've finished all subjects that I don't need for my final exams. Also, 25 50-minute lessons a week is a lot more doable than 35 to 40, which I had to do in my fourth and fifth year.
  20. Wow, they're certainly taking a risk if you ask me. Still, according to that 1up.com article it seemed to work out pretty good. Personally, I had expected something like the gamecube controller, but with a much sleeker look to it. Still, it seems very promising...
  21. Whatever you choose, remember that you're probably going to be in it for a few hours, and you might be expected to dance. Before you make a final decision, make sure it's comfortable and well ventilated. Having to scratch yourself all the time and smelling like you just got back from the gym are pretty big turn offs.
  22. Hehe, somehow I doubt it. Anyway, selling [bleep]ed cakes at a charity event seems pretty stupid if you ask me...
  23. If she thinks giving birth the normal way would have been painful, she has no idea what awaits her between now and the moment he moves out
  24. http://www.runeweb.net, obviously...
  25. Heh, looks nice. I might play it if I can get one of those adapters that allow you to plug a N64 controller into an usb slot... Probably won't work at all, but what the heck :P
