  1. Gold is expensive. Mining it will be FAR too slow. What you want is the blast furnace. Make and smith mithril bars into bolts. Feather them to sell it easier (though unfeathered sells reasonably well as well). You won't make a loss either.
  2. Questions that asks for tips or a specific thing is easy to answer, I don't mind them. Good place to hunt for a level 64? Red Chins in the jungle, simple and slick. But those who asks about a whole quest, skill, city, that is just :wall: . They don't pay me to be tour guides. And about the KB? It is hard enough to get people to READ the news on the front page, now asking them to use the KB or the GE Charts is bad enough. I really find it amusing and irritating at the same time when people asks for a PC and get extremely agitated when no one responses. There is a blimey part of the website just for that, use it.
  3. Some randoms should still remain to beat the macroers. It stops the selling but it doesn't people won't get tons of resources for themselves. So they will remain, unfortunately. I would be quite sad if Pete and Molly disappeared, they give good herbs and gems respectively and is quite a quick random. Whilst Mime.....I don't want to see it ever again after I have got my full mime and emote. The worst thing about randoms is when they get you a minute after you log on. This really defeats the purpose of a random....am I really going to be botting when i just logged in and is in front of a bank.
  4. One of my clan mate is banking on one mil. Probably it isn't going to happen. How far this will raise is really up in the air. Let us not forget some factors: -Black masks increase is as a result of additional use, not a new use (like Marigolds) -There always been a decent amount of them in the market, this update merely made them much more worthwhile of an item to have -The number of slayers is not actually that huge, most of the regular slayers normally is already in possession of a black mask. To be quite honest, I really do not understand what is driving this up truly. It is almost as if half the RuneScape population suddenly discovered the black mask and want it. A lot of this is driven by the expectations that it will rise.
  5. People may need to look at the credits list in console games once in a while. A brand new game made from scratch perhaps need 2 years full time of that unending list of programmers to make and perfect. JaGex is giving you something every month with a mere 30 programmers or so the article says. Things are easy until you try it. I agree with this article, most of it at least. But in the own shoes thing, no I won't think of me doing a better job or anything. But I can think there are people better suited to doing it. Knowing I can't do a better job does not mean I cannot criticize, I pay for the service, I expect the service to be good. I pay for the plumber, I don't know plumbing. But if he can't fix it, I find a better plumber. Not to say I really think that but just something I thought about. I am skeptical of whether they really are doing everything possible to stop Gold buyers and bots, but on another level, do I really want them to? Would you rather they sweep out all bots along with hundreds of completely innocent players in the process? Or do I want them to clean them out in a way that to ensure no innocent players are accused?
  6. Anybody who says 5 bucks is not a lot or that you could pay back is completely ignorant and too self-centred. People is not lacking the ability to pay, they are lacking the avenue to pay it. Work, beg parents. Isn't that a bit too much for a game. And doesn't necessarily work, is very poor reasoning in my mind. Instead of saying "Pay 5 bucks" sounding like an elitist, say "extra bank space is just the additional contents we get for paying for the game". Members proportionately has less bank space than F2Pers, only difference is that not everyone will have all of them. CW, TB, BA, the Barrows set and all the other things not everyone will own. As long as nothing is released for F2P, then there should be no bank increase. Just as there is no point to increase members bank space unless there is a new skill. I have lived with F2P for ages, this is the game you get as a F2P. Any bank increase is nice for any players involved. F2P bank has been functional.
  7. The RS economy is very controlled. In a way is ironic that there is inflation when their focus is lowering the price of items for new players. There may be huge GP draining activities, such as Crystal bow, barrows, POH, these are nowhere near the amount people get from high alch. Yes, bringing too much GP is a problem, but lets not forget how many new players is there and how money would be spread out. There won't be problem with economy, variable is too little to affect anything drastically. Leveling, requirements, respawn rates makes these fears very unfounded.
  8. Is not immature kids thats the problem. Is immature-spoiled-rich-kids thats the problem. In a way, I would like them to forget about the [developmentally delayed]ed people (and quite frankly they are. How can you claim they are not when someone says bring all your items to wild and they do it). Believe it or not, people actually will learn, no one is 13 year old kids forever. Problem with kids is that they do not truly appreciate RS. They don't see enough of live to recognise that you need to earn your stuff and that mistakes and errors is to be learnt from, not whine at. If you lose all your full rune because you had been tricked, is your fault. Learn what happened and move on, it is a game. Lets just focus on the better parts of the game. Where is the DT quests? Where are the challenges? In the end, members that stayed the longest is what you need. By concentrating efforts on dumb people who may pay one period of subscription and leave, you are neglecting those true gamers who might be turned away disillusioned by the direction of the game. Good gamers will recognise a good game, and is their profit that is important, not kids.
  9. From a financial standpoint, Jagex has no need to give Skillcapes to F2P. Jagex has went out of the way to make everything "members" and being a F2P player for a long time, it is agonizing, and thats what they wanted. What is better than 99 F2P player gaze On a gaming and personal standpoint, they should. Forget what Jagex wants, is not part of the discussion. The debate is whether they should, not whether they will. As Achievement Capes goes, their purpose is to recognize those who had reached 99 in a given skill. Thats all. And no matter how you look at it, getting 99 in F2P is by far bigger achievement than ANY 99 skill in Members. Looking at achievement, the only difference is that you pay $5, they don't. One of the thing I feel about Members when I was in F2P, and me now a member for more than a half a year still think the same way, is members are hugely arrogant and protective of their portion of the game to the point that I feel they are paranoid. And believe it or not, F2P needs updates sometimes. The capes is a good update, not necessarily big. But it certainly affect market price a lot.
  10. What Agamoto means earlier is that there is no longer a link to the Construction Guide, if you press the link to Skill Guides, it does not show the link to it. The page is still since I used search to get there, just heads up on that. Not demanding or anything, but a map of each hunting area really helps, took me 10 minutes to find the Crimson's spot because I was walking around in cricles. abomb67 edit: have no fear, maps are in the works, they just take longer than the written guide. We will get that construction guide link fixed.
  11. In my opinion (I'm a leader in Lordbigchang's clan btw), it all started in the backstab (there were disputes before I was in clan, so I will not talk about that) where the other clan attacked us in the wild when he have signed an agreement to not to fight each other, an armistice as they call it. So basically it was a betrayal. Now, the real problem started early this month. Because our forum's root threatened to delete the forums endlessly (long story regarding this, lets just say he was not the most popular person in the clan), we decide to switch the forums to get him off the position of power. He refused to cooperate and joined the "other" clan and then is a war. Originally, we were the ones declaring war, but they were going to declare war on us in a few months, they are going to be mass training/recruiting and we held a stronger position atm, we declared war now. And i'm sorry, but I think ignoring is going to be a problem. That former root admin of our forums seems bent on destroying us, well, we did treat him pretty badly one may say as everythiing about the forum switch was behind his back but the fact he constantly held a knife to the clan's throat means we have no choice. And I agree, war will not solve it, niether will ignoring them. And now they are using pretty dirty tactics in gaining members (biased opinion, but we do have proof) this will turn into a flame war by all accounts. Brace yourself..... You know, everything happened because of one person by all accouts, is pretty amazing thinking about it.
