I actually have a small standing army. Well, comparatively. It's a little big by real world standards, but in real life, we don't have massive world wars every time someone gets pissy.

Luxembourg and I are the people on this thread who've been around the longest. Luxembourg decided to take the choice of having a smaller "perfect" country, or a few countries, where I took the route of an empire. It's all about how you play. Norway is working on repairing finland, and salvaging what tech we can. Rocco, that's how this game is. If you want to start a game that's the way you want it in the falador library (where this should be, I guess) feel free.

I've been working on my country for almost 50 days, so no, I'm not ok with restarting. That's how the world works.

Even my territories in africa are almost right for oceana. grimdeath and trol are mostly dispute land, along with rocco. Then the rest is about right. Another 55 habitats are completed. We're investing a good chunk of our money into this. Though this also takes away from city maintenance since some cities are being replaced by these more sustainable cities. Training of civilians is going well. After that war simulation, I want to account for things that were issues for me. Because of that, we're building a defense similar to Dusty's along the US's northern and Western border (though not quite as large as dusty's, it will feature the following: 50 feet tall, 20 feet wide, anti missile/projectile lasers, and of course good cover and concealment). It'll take a good 10 years to build, unless I fund it more. And walka is right. Dusty has the best static defenses out of anyone, and he could hold out against millions easily. Russia and Europa combined have more people than the NWO I think, other than China.

Do you prefer large forum communities or small ones?

Medium. Not so big that threads get 100 pages a day (or whatever) and that you barely know anyone, but not so small that no one ever posts. Tip.it is a good example I guess. -
nwo contains all of the eastasia states. If sere and mage and I were to form an alliance, we would be oceana almost exactly. Dusty and Walka are already eurasia.

Would this be ok? You can buy the original plans for our earlier habitats. They aren't perfect but they will sustain people, and serve their purpose, but can't hold as many people and are more difficult to build. The reason why is so that you end up upgrading and developing them different than I do, so that we don't have identical cities. I don't really know what a reasonable price would be maybe you could make an offer?

I forgot to mention with post about diamonds, we've been doing the same with gold. Over the past 44 years we've produced 22,000 tons of gold, for an estimated value of 1 trillion. Same with silver, producing about 421476 tonnes over the past 44 years, for a value of 300 billion. For what it's worth, we control the market of Diamonds, Gold, and Silver, because I own land that produces the majority of it in the world. For now, all the interest gathered from the value of these products is going to Norway's wealth fund. 20 more habitats are complete in the US. Once the remaining 950 or so are done, we will work more on Mexico and the rest of the Americas.

The icbm's wouldn't do anything. They are literally melted in midair, and anything inside of them is destroyed. Virus's don't do so well against heat, especially hotter-than-the-sun heat. Citizens are being evaced to either norway or Germania, whichever is closer. We're looking for changes in their body that would help us find the vaccine.

Findelandish citizens rioting rush the capital, and assisted by the millions of deserting soldiers, successfully complete a coup. Anyone other than hedge disagree?
-
All ICBM's were shot down by our global anti ICBM satellites over noway. It's the winter in Norway in game time, so fires aren't going to do anything. And your country no longer exists, basically, from the MAD satellites that were dropped on you. Also, 95% of your citizens revolt. Imagine if the US government declared war on china, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Australia, and England for no reason, by dropping viruses on them, and then trying to destroy the world. Your soldiers would desert, and citizens would riot.

Planes would not be able to reach any of my cities in brazil without crossing over my navy, which is a no fly zone for any planes that haven't been ok'd by our air command. Anyway, as soon as planes loaded with the virus were shot down by my ships, and were recognized as findelandish, Norway dropped several of it's Mutually Assured Destruction satellites which were above Norway, but could be aimed slightly differently to hit Findeland. Your country would pretty much cease to exist. Unless you want to stop being [developmentally delayed]ed.
-
New solution: Findeland decides that the only reason he got bangladesh was because deathdrow was misinformed, and dusty asked for it first, and should get it. Dungeon, I wouldn't actually do that with my ships. It was mostly a joke to start with. It's mostly a deterrent if I were to ever do that, if my nation was on the brink of utter destruction. It's mutually assured destruction. But dumping radioactive waste is just stupid.
-
Deathdrow gave dusty the country, then he was wrongly informed that the treaty would block that. Dusty was given the country about a week before control was given to hedge for a wrong reason, so he could easily have moved troops in then. ANYWAY: I'm building three naval production yards in all of my coastal south american countries, and twenty in brazil, over the next ten years. We're upping taxes a bit in order to fund this, not too much though. All civilians over 18 and under 40 are going to get 3 months of military training. This will happen over the next 5-10 years.
-
I like the Ender Saga. Also read Ender's Shadow but haven't followed up on the rest of that series yet. Isn't it funny how Dusty is always wrong whenever he accuses me of something? Well, he asked for it first, and then you all complained about a treaty which didn't cover someone giving him a country.

The original 100 underground Habitats are completed, along with the subway system connecting them all. We have another 1000 planned. We can make them a bit quicker now, but it will still take a while. We have also finished construction on the worlds tallest building ever (With the exception of the space elevators). It was started about 40 years ago. I'll find the post later. In other news, we've been hogging all of our diamonds that we mine, and so far we've mined 1,246,052 pounds over the past 44 years. We've also synthetically produced another 2 million pounds. So in total we have 3.2 million pounds of diamonds. The estimated value of all this, since I imagine not selling 3/4's of the worlds diamond production for 44 years would cause it to go up a good deal, is about 5 trillion dollars. We're holding onto this for a while longer, while we research ways to melt and mold diamonds, which is very difficult in real life (Only been done a few times I think). My diamond hoarding was mentioned in my post about the tower 40 years back. Two twin Desta Battleships have just come out of the production lines over Mars. The first dedicated harvester ship was just completed as well, with 10 more on the way over the next 10 years.

I'm having second thoughts about the rift. After some research there are some other ways superluminal speeds (ftl) could be attained, without raping physics. Finding a rift in the middle of nowhere seems sort of like a cop-out.

Our first ship cost us 1.2 trillion and could hold 1050 people in cryogenic sleep, and reach near luminal speeds. This was a while ago though. Our more modern ships cost us about a trillion each, and carry about 30,000 people in cryogenic sleep. I'd say since you don't have quite the experience with building ships as dusty and I have, yours would hold maybe 10,000 people or so.

Ok: on navies. Here's how it works. Battleships:Useless, no navy has used them since the 90s. They are overly expensive, and complicated, and have giant munitions holds which make them go boom really easily. Destroyers: Smaller, quicker craft. Best for escorting larger ships. But they are also, in modern warfare, usually heaviest surface combat ships. Many of them are also equipped with cruise missiles and the like. Cruisers: Mostly replaced by destroyers, but serve pretty much the same roles. They are larger than destroyers usually, but slower and less maneuverable. Frigates: Usually cover a specialized role, anti air, or anti submarine, or anti missile. Aircraft Carriers: Replaced battleships due to their better range, and are much more effective. There is no latest thing for ships. But the most effective types are: Aircraft Carriers, Destroyers, Frigates. Then of course patrol boats and cargo boats have their place as well.

The countries inside of South Africa were owned by south africa's former government, I think, so are now owned by me.

How exactly does your super plane shooter downer work? You realize that the plane could go over your entire country in about 3 and a half minutes?
-
The population of the areas you have in the US was about 100 million, so if you sent ten million to repopulate, and 2 of them have a kid every year, you'd end up 10 million old people, like 10 million teenagers, and 80 million kids. That's not very sustainable, especially since the parents would have 20 kids each. I would stretch that time out a good amount more.
-
That's all good for ross's numbers, except for the US. Ignore all numbers for the US, since it was destroyed, and none of the gdp carries over. Whatever Ross has put there is subtracted from his other countries, so it would even out.

I'd say like 6 months to a year per destroyer. So if you have only 1 naval production place it'll take a while to build up a fleet. But, it's not like you can have hundreds of destroyers. 100 is a bit excessive, but if you really want to do that it depends how many production places you have. Same time period for frigates, and maybe atleast a year or two per aircraft carrier. And for a modern plane, if you mean just sort of take a 09 plane, add upgraded missiles, armor, etc. I'd say it would be the same price or a bit more as a raptor or whatever in real life, and you'd have to look up how long it takes to build a single plane. If you want a super-plane like I have, and latino has, you'd need to research for a while. I still think the fact that latino managed to make a plane that can fly at mach 15, has the armament of a ac-130 plus some, and only costs 200 million, and was developed in 4 years is incredibly stupid. For a more realistic super-plane, I have HISF (Hypersonic intercontinental strike fighter) which pretty much function as a better aimed, more difficult to destroy icbm. They cost a few billion each and need to be repaired for a few days after each high speed flight.

Can I just ask what this whole NWO thing actually is? And are we done with the hallucination? Because from that I think we can successfully say that Germania and I would be at a stalemate, basically, though he would have a bit of advantage in Africa and Europe, since that's his central area, and he would have more forces, but in the Americas I probably would have pushed him back eventually. We also learned that the only problem with the new system is that with a ton of wars going on at once that there aren't enough judges. But since I usually won't be concentrating on fighting my own war, I can judge pretty much everything. So if the hallucination is over, both ships are completed, and are going to be sent away from earth. Their mission will be complete in approximately 7 years, and they will maybe return in another 5 or 6 after that. The basic design is almost down for a new HISF plane, flight tests and further development will take a while though. Even though we have one of the most advance targeting systems, we are working on improving even further with new computer capabilities that we didn't have a few years back. Our global shield system is now completed, and in the process of being put into space. It consists of a few dozen satellites, and a larger hub station. These will orbit mostly over Africa and the Americas, but if we need we can move it so it covers the entire earth, though it wouldn't have a 100% rate of success when it's that spread out. We're working on designing harvester ships. These will harvest gasses from the Gas Giants in our system. This should make some chemicals less pricey, and make it so we have more fuel for our ship's reactors. The metro system connecting underground habitats in the US, and are making it connect to any new Habitats as well. We're also building several habitats for the sole purpose of food production, in order to make the underground system completely self sustaining.
