  1. Whatever. It's best not to influence everyone.
  2. 1. That picture was a joke because I was being sarcastic. 2. Exoskeleton suits aren't ridiculous and are nearly-developed for the United States military in real life. 3. I will have to see your upgrades over PM to determine if it's ridiculous or not. I can't imagine much being done except maybe bringing them to par with US military tanks, making minor speed improvements (which means less armor), and possibly having some software improvements. You might be able to make them safer (like hidden escape hatches), but there's not much you can do.
  3. You're building a 5th generation tank, and it's only 7-8 years into the future? That doesn't make any bit of sense at all. Tanks first started showing up in World War I (Brits invented them), and it has taken a century for them to become the tanks that we have today. The only significant developments were digital software being incorporated into them, deflective armor, and better speed.
  4. Not really. Most projects don't even cost that much. And money does not mean that you save time. That's like saying that you researched something instantly because you threw 300 billion into the project.
  5. Jagex is probably taking the day off today in order to celebrate Presidents' Day, even though it's an American holiday. They've just nicknamed it "Prime Ministers' Day", and they're doing it just to piss you guys off.
  6. I heard some members of the Australian government arrested themselves for possession of banned pornography after receiving the faxes.
  7. For some reason, this reminds me of this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0ocOM3tnjs It might be unrelated, so don't look at me like I'm a nutter.
  8. Haha. Start a thread called "The Problems with the Welfare State". I agree with you, though.
  9. The United Federation declares a State of Emergency and announces an emergency meeting of the United Nations.
  10. For those thinking we aren't overpopulated, think again. We have to have a large amount of unoccupied space for farmland in order to satisfy our domestic needs (and no, importing food doesn't count). When we get more and more people (vast immigration, high birth rates, etc.) we will end up cutting into our farmland. With more people, the birth rate skyrockets. And I doubt anyone wants to form the Terran Federation and move to a desert in Africa, so....
  11. Lol. Of course the Kazakh army is better than the United States army. And Lincoln was never our president. Jefferson Davis was...
  12. It may or not be a joke.
  13. ------------------------------------------- Greetings! Breakthroughs have been made in the United Federation! We present: THE MARAUDER SUIT! Armor Thickness: CLASSIFIED Weaponry: Two Rocket Launchers on the shoulder; Two machine guns Speed: 60 MPH In other news... Q-Bomb Controversy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pI5nLh50ZVE In unrelated events, Federation scientists have compared genomes from across the planet and have come to the conclusion that Federation citizens are the Master Race.
  14. The Dark Lord replied to Nero's topic in Falador Tavern
I'll just use Starship Troopers as a baseline :P Keep in mind that the book and the movie are completely different. My politics are based on the book, not the movie. The only thing I haven't incorporated is the public flogging (or flogging in particular). There was a movie? Three of them. Starship Troopers (1997), Starship Troopers 2 (2001-2002 or something like that), and Starship Troopers 3: Marauder (2007-2008). But of course, I see what you did there. :P
  15. The thing is, once a God enters the picture, as in a deity who's absolutly perfect in it's essence, and that can decide what's good and what isn't, the ideology that's stretchable becomes a very fanatic, none-stretchable religion. Your definitions and labels may be nice, but it's the final outcome I'm discussing. Sure you could call Philosophy a religion. And? What of it? Bottom line is that Philosophy has no greater entity, and the different philosofical statements can be proven, unproven, and proven again. Religion cannot be proven, and neither unproven, which is where fanatics come from. As for your comment about the followers of religion who make it's cons- A. That's not entirely true (Slavery, Anti-Gayness, etc). B. If you call what's in A a followers' fault, then the pros of religion should be considered the followers' result aswell. C. It matters not where the cons come from, only that they exist and that they wouldn't have existed if it wasn't for religion. Who says religion can't be proven? Prove it then. (Just to make sure this isn't a miss-understanding- What I mean by cannot be proven is that you can't prove God exists). I take it that you would be a fan of Blaise Pascal.
  16. The United Federation vetoes the embargo between Abyssinia and Switzerland.
  17. Don't the majority of births occur for those who seek to give birth? And not by 'mistake'? Yes. I'm just saying that people need to use preventative measures in order to keep from having a child by mistake, and it wouldn't hurt the world if a few couples vowed to not have children and instead adopted or whatever.
  18. The Dark Lord replied to Riemis's topic in Off-Topic
Well, guys. I'm not playing anymore. I did manage to get Ministerial Prefect before Reddragon was taken down for good, so I'm glad about that. :) I think I also managed to destroy Racheya's city, and I almost got Riemis.
  19. Seriously? It was a landlocked country in eastern Europe in my mental map  No, you're right! See? I thought Ireland was located in New York.
  20. preach. ....Which was the greatest fallacy that arose from the Civil Rights Movement. You simply cannot try to bring an oppressed group on "equal" terms by tossing money at them or adopting a double-standard in which a member of the previously oppressed group gains priority over a member of another group. Happy?
  21. I don't see any problem with it, to be honest. The only bad thing would be if the gay community demanded a form of Affirmative Action or something ridiculous along that line. No matter who you are, equality shouldn't demand special treatment. You just treat everyone the same, even if you treat them terribly.
  22. It's funny that people act as if they remember the 80s as if it was yesterday just because they were born during the 80s... Anyway, I'm an early 90s child (1992), and I don't remember anything about the collapse of the Soviet Union. I do remember watching the television with my parents and seeing Bill Clinton give a State of the Union Address (or at least I assume it was). I also remember random incidents in which I was a toddler and was playing with a plastic toy shopping cart and managed to somehow get it burned by a fireplace because it was close enough to the heat for the plastic to melt (and my mom saw it and helped me, :P). Other than random flashbacks from when I was very little, I remember almost nothing about the early 90s. As for the 80s, I would have to say that the unveiling of the B-2 bomber was one of the wildest military gadgets of that decade... It's like something from Star Wars.
  23. If couples vowed to not have children, it will be for the Greater Good. It helps both the State and human society itself in the long run. Right now, we are beginning to suffer from the effects of overpopulation. We'll experience a rise in poverty, the growth of ghettos, and an increase in crime. With overpopulation, not enough jobs will be produced in order to balance the birth rates, and with our first-world, industrial societies, the death rate will only drop or at least stay low as advances in medical technology come about. Due to the inability for enough jobs to be created, the unemployment rate will soar. Likewise, this will create an increase in poverty and the growth of ghettos (which provide extremely cheap housing). Within these ghettos, you'll have higher crime rates. So, in the long run, it's better for future generations if we try to curb the birth rates, which can only be done if more people use condoms and other ways to keep from having children. Unfortunately, it's only natural for human beings to want to have children; it's just not the best for everyone.
  24. Lol. Of course, that might be a little hypocritical of me to not be involved.
  25. How's your alliance with Israel?
