Probably the servers. It's the servers. The world map is extremely huge (and there isn't even a complete world map!), so it lags a lot even though there are only like 300 people playing at any time. I think. Anyway... 'Twas for your own protection. It keeps the raiders out. There are several villages not too far from us that are empty because either they were raided or the people just relocated because they found a mine shaft or something. I don't know for a fact if any of them were raided (as being the reason why they're vacant). Still, we have raided two huge villages (albeit empty). We may have made enemies. --------------- Anyway, not much has happened tonight. I divided some farm areas up by building roundpole fences, so the town looks aesthetically pleasing. We have deforested huge areas in our quest to build the Wall, but we still have plenty of natural resources. We went went raiding today and had fun. We ran into boars several times, but I never was attacked (I ran like hell).

The seeds are going to be planted first in order to get them to grow into mature trees/crops so we can harvest even more seeds.

Haven & Hearth Thread
Archi and I were boating in order to find taproots and nettles, and we discovered a pretty large village on an island. We checked it out and found that there was a single gate open, so we walked in. It seemed that it was abandoned because some things were decaying. We then decided to search for loot, which we found a lot of. Most of it was in the form of seeds. We found tea seeds, grape seeds, pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds (I guess 4/20 is a permanent holiday now), flax seeds, mulberry seeds, wheat seeds, and carrot seeds. We loaded several crates full of the loot and carted them off via our boats over three trips. We also stole the key moulds to the city, so now they can't lock us out. ;) There's still plenty more. We haven't really breached the surface yet. EDIT: This also explains why there are about 5-7 boats in the town. EDIT #2: We also finished the wall.

Okay, will people PLEASE move their hearth fires away from Archi's cabin? So far, the offenders are: -Edelweiss (Whiteeye and Don characters) -Ross_The_Knight -Grimdeath (both his main and his 'noob') -Nexaduro -Trol_Slayr -Pieiseaten Please, for the love of God... Your fires are in the way of moving around in Archi's grain field. Please either move your fires to your respective homes or move them outside the city gates until you get a home. You have three days to do it.

You'll never find your way to Falador from Soviet Russia. Plus, you would attract raiders that way. Just go to the guy in the far corner and right-click. Then type in 'tavern'. It will take you straight to us.

I believe that it's called Unarmed Combat and Hunting. Archery would also be a good skill to buy. It's good for hunting wild game while you're at the safety of your boat (in the middle of a river). Currently, I'm level 5 Melee Combat, level 3 Marksmanship (Archery), and level 8 Exploration. :)

The newest Global Announcement
I know this is a change of subject (and don't misinterpret it by thinking that the tone of this post is condescending), but what was wrong with the community in 2006? That was the year that I joined, and I instantly fell in love with the community. People were more mature. The mod squad was much stricter, yes, but they were also more mature and still were extremely friendly and helpful. All of them were. Now the moderators that are selected nowadays are much poorer quality compared to 2006. I can't say that I exactly liked it when I said '[bleep]' and ended up getting a warning for it, but I do respect what the community was 4 years ago. Quite frankly, it was superior. Anyway, I apologize for getting off-subject. Times have just changed, I suppose. Maybe my outlook on the Tip.it community from 2006 is too romantic.

That would indeed help. I was a little peeved off because I remember the exact wording from the aforementioned sticky, so when I found out that post count no longer increases in this forum board, it seemed that the admins no longer believed our posts to be worthy. I think that it should be changed to something more accurate, such as: "Posts on forum boards that exceed the normal posting standard, by an order of magnitude, will also be exempted from post count. This is not a reflection of the quality of the posts."

Indeed. Most of our posts involve multiple sentences, so the substance (length of posts) is more or less that of the Off-Topic board. Also, we put thought and creativity into our posts. I think I remember you admiring us for our stories that we have on here, Das? It doesn't bloody seem that way, man.

B***ocks. And it's pretty offensive that our posts are no longer considered worthy.... A vast majority of our posts are in dungeoneering, which has maybe 20 posts offtopic in all 800 pages! Hegemony has maybe 1 in 30 off-topic posts. And in all honesty, I would never have noticed this change unless someone mentioned it. Now that I know, I'm offended.

Brilliant deduction, Sherlock. Now find out where my keys are. Wouldn't we all appreciate that?

When you start in our town, you get a hearth fire. The hearth fire is what you spawn from when you enter the game. Because there are so many people in our town, there are some hearth fires in the way of what would be your hearth fire, so we have to do some organizing in order to make room for you. Although, you can try again and keep trying to type in tavern. It might move your hearth fire to a better location within the town.

We'll have to move some hearth fires around, then.

I'm about to get on HH right now. By the way, my hearth secret is John, so just go to the heart icon and type it where you see "Make kin by hearth secret". That will add me to your friend's list. Also, go straight to the village and don't go to Soviet Russia (starting area).

We built a road from Falador to the area where your cabin is. Right now we have two outposts, both of which are along the river. However, your area in particular will probably become a trading hub or at least a fishing area. We just plan to pave from around your house to the river and maybe build one more cabin, and that's it.

World Cup 2010 - South Africa!
Scottish people almost always support the rival team rather than England? Anyway, I doubt that very many Americans even care about our soccer team. A good portion of them don't even know that we have an international soccer team...

Make a new character, go back to the town on it, store the food (bread) that you get from the chest when you join the game (starting room), and log off. Then, just get on your main account, find the food, eat it, then continue. Cheating? Yeah... But [bleep] the power!

Hegemony Argument Thread
Grim, We have petitioned the admins about that in the past, and it has not yielded any results. I believe that they want to keep the boards from having any kind of influence over each other.
