Unfortunately very few people start on acoustics (including me). I wish I had though, I think everyone wants to be Eddie Van Halen straight off the starting blocks, that's what I thought at least.

Good luck to you then. I tried professional lessons once and I hated them, self-teaching is a much better approach I think.

I'm not really sure what the conversion factor of euros to dollars is, but I'm guessing 99 Euros is pretty cheap. Have you though about starting with an acoustic? It will build calluses and finger strength much faster.

Jackson is also pretty well known for hard rock/metal, you should check them out, I own the dk2 and I love it. You could also look at some of the cheaper esp's......I think a lower end of the Kirk Hammett signature is in your price range. Don't take other people's word for a purchase like this though, go into a couple guitar stores and try everything you see.

Get a stack instead. You can buy cabs and heads pretty cheap used.

No song makes me cry, but one of the songs that brings out the most emotion in me is "cats in the cradle" by Harry Chapin. Just basically tells about a dad that never payed much attention to his son because he was always busy. Then later when they are both older it's the dad that craves attention from his son but his son is always too busy.

I don't understand your reasoning here.....so you're saying that a bad guitarist who knows how to make things sound good is a better guitarist then someone who has unimaginable skill but is bad at writing music? You're comparing music writing ability with raw guitar ability, I don't think that's fair.

I'd say Duane Allman and Jimi are pretty much tied. Jimi just gets the upper hand because he was so publicized, most people put Duane at #2....but I think it's too close to tell.
