You do realise that putting a plant in a smoky room won't deprive it of air at all? Do you think there is no air in smoky bars? How do you think people survive more than 10 minutes in a smoky bar without dying from lack of oxygen?

There is almost as much air there as a smoke-free room. The difference in the amount of air is the mass of the smoke particles suspended in the air - which is negligible. Less than one cubic centimetre.

Smoke is just smoke particles suspended in, you guessed it, air.

In that case, Dr. Pepper is just "Dr. Pepper particles" suspended in water. It's not the air or the water that harms the plant, or in this case, humans. It's the added stuff that causes unhealthiness or lung cancer.

Id rather push my eyesin than drink Dr Pepper or smoke tbh.

Since when has Dr. pepper killed people?

Is it cause its fattening and will make you die of a heart attack because of the sugar?

No, it isn't. Smoke is a colloid (particles suspended in another substance) and sweet drinks like Dr. Pepper are solutions of sugar, CO2 and so on. There's a difference between being suspended in something (a mixture) and being dissolved in something (a solution).

Also, what I said about the amount of air in the room before was wrong. There is ABSOLUTELY no less air in a smoky room than in a clear one. The smoke takes up space that the air isn't.

I never worry about that stuff unless it's from second hand smoke which comes A LOT in NYC. But, I am healthy and I have never drank soda (Unless I mistake water for sprite) and I won't ever smoke. If I see a friend or relative smoking, I tell them good things. Ex. Cigarettes have rat feces in them. Also frog guts and gun powder and thousands of unhealthy ingredients...

Don't worry about being so preventative. Obviously don't always drink pop and for smokers only smoke in moderation, but there's no need to take it to the level of not enjoying yourself and sticking only to terrible tasting health foods. For any given person they could live their life as healthy as possible but get cancer when they're 50, or any death causing thing unexpectedly. Just enjoy yourself. Worrying about these things is no guarantee to buy you extra years.

Actually, before you lived 80 years of a so called "happy life", with no soda, or cigarrettes ( not saying there good or anything, I personally think there stupid ), or living life, sitting in a sanitary healthy state with no variable for your entire life, watch yourself commit suicide before the age of 40. Why do you tink overprotected kids grow up to be posers, bikers, ect? They have been deprived of any sense of danger, scaryness, pleasure, for their entire life, and they want to get it right away at the full potentail.

What? Just because you don't do things that are scientifically proven to be bad for your health doesn't mean you don't do anything that has any potential risk involved.

Thank you 4be2jue for the wonderful sig and avatar!

Well I don't smoke (and don't plan to - ever), but I do drink soda on occasion. Why? ..The same reason why I don't diet. I don't believe in depriving myself of foods/drinks that I like, just to 'stay skinny' or add a few extra years onto my life. It may seem silly, but that's the way I view it. I'd rather live a life that's a little shorter, but enjoy it to its full extent (right down to the foods I eat and liquids I drink), then live a little longer and not be able to experience that pleasure.

If you read my post you realized that I do and will always take some risks and dangers into my life. I'm a dr. pep fanatic, I love freind food, I love doing dangerous stuff and messing around, and I live a happy life. Then you see the overprotected kid, whos sitting in the corner muttering about how unsafe the world is, spoonfed by his parents.

WHO CARES if you take risks, the human race is supposed to! Look at American football, that can give you permanent damage, and look how many people play it ( not me I hate it I play soccer :P ).

WHO REALLY CARES? oh blah blah it'l kill ya, you mutter, well do you think driving yorself insane with no pleasures is not going too? Ever read The Giver? We had to read it in school, the community has no feelings, they live a melachony life with not feeling at all what so ever, and in example, when twins are born they kill the smaller twin not to cause confusion about 2 alike people, and they kill them without feeling any sadness what so ever. They eat healthy food every day, and when Jonas must reiceve all the feelings, because he is to hold them, he almost goes insane! The same is going to happen if we shut ourselves down from all feelings. If you ever read it, then do you wanna live a life like that? They don't even feel love! Look at you parents, girlfreind, wife, and imagine living like that! Imagine not doing anything except work and sleep, thinks thats fun?

WHO CARES about if it kills ya, everyone is going to die, and nobody wants to die a boring life. Nobody wants to just live life boringly, why do you think they make pretty much anything enjoyable! The computer your staring at right now is making your life more fun, and did you know it can give you epilepsy from staring at it too long? Why do you think they make food have taste, so we can enjoy it! Why do you think we have freinds? To have fun! I can;t express my point enough, if you still feel this way go see a doctor.

I think it's a personal choice, unless it affects others like second hand smoke. Some people don't care or want to die earlier.

I would never smoke just because the only "pleasure" you get is the satisfaction of your addiction, and it comes with a big "problems" tag attached. It's not that I'm afraid to take risks, but no one likes their lungs turned into ashy cinders. :-X

(Plus, you can't even "just do one", supposedly, because you get addicted right away (or after the first 2-3 or so))

We're all dying, slowly. It's called "living".

Why not make the process more interesting?

I don't see how getting a diesaese and breathing hard would be considered "intresting", but "painful" and "regretful".

Sorry for a double post, but - where did I ever mention getting diseases and breathing hard? I would agree with you there completely. I never in any posts condoned those two conditions nor any activities that would lead to said conditions. P.S. you misspelled "disease" and "interesting".

sig2.jpg

Id much rather live to 80 and smoke (I dont personally), drink, and eat what I like and be happy than live to 84? 85? and drink only water, eat only soy beans and collapse at the sight of smoke.

Look at Gillian Mckeith (UK people will know what im on about) she lives on diet of mung beans and water and look at what she looks like; a camel chewing a wasp whilst peeing on stinging nettles - eat! drink! and be merry!
