Ever tried standing in Seers bank selling your flax? Its next to impossible these days at 100gp each, unless you have 10k or more. But then how often do you find someone buynig 10k of flax all at once...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

With Manage Thy Kingdom update since Royal Trouble, flax prices shouldve dropped, but they havent. Instead everyone now gets their own flax from their islands and noone just buys anymore, no matter what price you sell it at...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Spinning it into bowstrings is not much of an option either, its tedious work, with not much xp per item processed (face it, smelting silver is even faster xp). So people want to get some good geepee in return for all that "effort"...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Not going to happen either. People who use bowstrings are those that fletch, and since making your own bowstrings is still both the safest and easiest way to make one of the key ingredients for a Yew Longbow, people often prefer to do just that.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Key ingredients for the geepee influx in the RS economy are:

 

 

 

Yew log (provided by the many autoers, so easy to buy)

 

 

 

Bowstring

 

 

 

Nature rune (again easy to buy from shops and from the few people who still manage to outsmart the morons guarding the Zamorak mage outside of edgy)...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So what do you guys think?

 

 

 

Will the price of flax go down soon? I've already seen it being sold for 90gp each. What about Bowstrings, will they also fall, simply because few people buy it?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the end, flax/bow strings was always one of the easiest ways to make money as even the person fresh out of torturial island can pick something up and hoard it into an ammount to sell then...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Personally, I think flax will come down somewhat to match the price that Miscellania charges you (40gp at best, so flax could settle at 75), where as bow strings will take a lot longer to react.

 

 

 

As flax costs less, spinning it into bow strings yields more profit, which in turn gives some breathing room to lower the price of the strings, just so you can sell it easier...

Basically prices are based on their alch value. Now the only thing that has really changed the value of the resources going into bows is when ess became pure ess to make nats. As nats went up in price the only resource that changed much were yew logs. It seems there is always a balance between yew logs and nats, as apose to flax and other resources.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

moral of story...doubt flax will change in price much and I have no problem selling flax for 100gp each at Seers

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

...just wish maples were easier to sell for 100gp

Well, personnaly I'd hope it doesn't go down, cause then I would no longer make a profit from my kingdom, but I certainly remember when flax and bowstrings were a huuuuuuge market, and a big influence on runescape.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I'd better sell my 4k flax pretty quick then, if I still want a profit =P

Bowstrings probably will eventually, everything does -- except rares.

everything will eventually lower in price exept rares...

I make the bulk of my money buy hoarding 20k of flax at a time and selling for 100 each from my kingdom.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It's really easy to sell flax at 100 each. If you're yelling in a abnk, no duh nobody will buy 10k at once. But 10 trades of 1k is equivalent, and that won't take long.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And simply put, if people don't get scared by posts like these and start selling for less, than the market will be stable. If nobody sells for 90, then the price will not go down to 90.

Don't. It won't drop unless people like you sell.

i just sold 15k flax 100ea yesterday in seers got 5 trades in like 30 seconds. I really dont think prices will change.

heh this makes perfect sense, should have gone along time ago, good post very informative, more 99 fletching capes will poping up everywhere if this happens

What i find interesting is that prices of yew logs have risen, despite the growing number of auto'ers :roll: If i didn't use whatever yews i cut i'd be happy at this :P
