March 24, 200719 yr You are trying to turn this into a flame war. The topic was just fine until you showed up several days later and stirred this up. I called you racist because discrimination is discrimination no matter if its someone race or religoun. You called me racist because you are ignorant as to what it means. Now you're just trying to make out like you're right. 1 the belief that there are characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to each race. 2 discrimination against or antagonism towards other races. 1 each of the major divisions of humankind, having distinct physical characteristics. Hurr.
March 24, 200719 yr no, more like i come along 3 days later and see you doing your usual "I hate all christians" thing and couldnt take it anymore. just leave your opinions on some other forum, dont turn some ones current post THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH RELIGOUN intto a flame war just over previous post he may have had. I called you racist because discrimination is discrimination no matter if its someone race or religoun. People don't hate christians. They hate christianity and how it controls people's beliefs and actions. They hate how it takes away some people's ability to reason beyond what they are told to just have faith in. And again, splat, just because someone is discriminating does not make it synonymous with racism. Discrimination for some reason has a negative connotation, where it's mostly used nowadays by people as another word for racism. In this case, he is not "discriminating" you for your religion. He's discriminating you because of your beliefs, actions, and values, which has nothing to do with racism, and less to do with religion than you'd think. It's not religion he's against - it's how people integrate religion into their lives and let it take over their beliefs before they can even form their own beliefs.

Hurr. alright, i give in to your dizzying intelect. I incorrectly used the word racist. my bad. forget the racist part and concentrate on the bigot part. Say what you mean and mean what you say because those that matter don't mind, and those that mind don't matter.
March 24, 200719 yr a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion. I am intolerant of fundamentalist christian beliefs because I see them to be harmful. I assume you are intolerant of the sort of fundamentalist muslim beliefs that allow the sentencing of rape victims to corporal punishment. I am, however, not intolerant of other beliefs - including more open-minded christian ones. Thus, I am not 'utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief or opinion'. QED

March 25, 200719 yr Who's imprisoned here ? The one feeling 'lust' and recognising and handling it as part of human nature. Or the one having to feel guilty of it because of his beliefs ? I know the answer to that one myself. Please don't get me started on how certain religions belittle women in general and keep them imprisoned (litterally) and have had a long history of denying them their humanitarian rights. it is human nature to hate, envy, and want to hurt others that hurt you. Human nature is not greater then human conscience, human conscience>human nature. not very appropriate for a family forum.

Human nature is not greater then human conscience, human conscience>human nature. not very appropriate for a family forum. Human conscience is part of human nature, or part of being human. Valueing one over the other is belittling and denying the other. You drag in hate and envy while the subject was 'lust': you name those two and conclude that conscience > nature (in every circumstance). Your conscience is fed with the concept that 'lust' is bad (even though it's part of human sexuality and hence associated with procreation). You carry the burden of the original sin with you: the woman as the evil temptress. It is your choice to follow that path and to base part of your conscience on that belief, not mine. You are imprisoned by your personal conscience when you recognise 'lust feelings' invoked by the media and as a result feel guilty about having them. I don't recognise having those feelings as bad, therefore I'm not 'imprisoned' by them. Could it be, that your conscience is wrong on the subject of 'lust' ? Not according to you, but according to my conscience, yours is. It is therefore, that I'm against strict censorhip, because I don't want others conscience to tell ME or my kid, what I should percieve wrong/right/bad/good. Nor do I want to be in a position to decide what's good for others. I'll make my own judgement based on the values that have been given to me in the past through various ways, including religion. I trust others to do the same on their values/beliefs, without me having to resort to shoving my beliefs down their throats. Likewise, I trust others to do the same and not shove their beliefs down my throat. To the picture: it's a magazine subscription to some girly magazine, no nudity showing on the cover, just girls in halter tops you can come across on every beach (even though overhere, we have topless beaches). This 'family forum' is specifically geared to a game that involves thieving as a skill, deals with player killing, rewards you for slaying beasts and animals, has a community filled with bad mouthed kids that are after your stuff by any means possible including lieing and cheating, a game that involves a quest around cannibalism or hints towards it, a game that involves lieing and tricking NPCs on a regular basis in quests, trolls that eat humans, duels to the death for loot (I'll leave the worshipping of false gods out of it).........All this, every time the kid presses the start button. Yet you choose to gripe over an add. One that nobody will notice unless attention is focussed to it (good job on that by the way). By pasting the add into this topic, it probably got more views than where it was originally shown. You have demonstrated how much a captive you are by the media, by feeling the urge to paste the add into your post. You are now infact, actively parttaking in exposing others to it: since by posting it in the topic, addblockers won't pick it up. Ironic that you need someone else to point that out to you, don't you agree ? Was that your human nature or your conscience (since you're so keen on seperating the two), that made you make the decision to paste the add into your post ? Not exactly a game I would let my child play should I be overly concerned about how his conscience is developing. As a result, the kid would have no business on this forum and hence not be exposed to it. On a side note, it's safe to assume you play RS or played it in the past for some time (why else would you be here ?). You were exposed to all, that I mentioned inside the game: you must've had quite some conflict with your conscience on a personal level. Or were you able to step back and realise it's only a game ?

If no one noticed the add it wouldn't be there. I understand your stance on censorship fully. The problem is not everyone is computer savvy and not everyone understands the harmful effects of the media. The problem is someone isn't going to stop doing something just because you tell it its bad for them. Even if you prove it to somebody they are not going to want to interpret their lives.

You put 'lust' in the same line as hate/envy, for your reasoning why conscience > human nature on the matter of 'lust', are you now saying you don't find hate/envy bad qualities ? You once again carefully avoided other questions, I made in my post. Until you do, I'll withdraw from the discussion.
March 26, 200719 yr [ggw image] not very appropriate for a family forum.I agree, but it shows no nudity, no implied sex and no "bad" language. While I 100% agree it should not have been shown on this forum (and you chose to take that image from another thread where the admins remove bad ads, not taking it yourself) it is not going to harm anybody that see's it. You see more sexual images on tv than in that banner advertisement. Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape.
