Onoz What should I smith!? [Unfinished!]

Featured Replies

Is this a question that you find yourself asking?

Got some Steel Bars from Fire Giants or Rune Bars from Crystal Chest but don't know what to smith?!

I'm here to help you!

What is the best Item to Alch that has the best Gp to Bars Used Ratio?

For this Example I will use Rune Items.

  • Dagger - Uses 1 Bar - Alches For 4,800 - 1 Bar Costs 4,800

    Axe - Uses 1 Bar - Alches For 7,280 - 1 Bar Costs 7,280

    Mace - Uses 1 Bar- Alches For 8,640 - 1 Bar Costs 8,640

    Medium Helm - Uses 1 Bar- Alches For 11,520 - 1 Bar Costs 11,520

    Sword - Uses 1 Bar- Alches For 12,480 - 1 Bar Costs 12,480

    Scimitar - Uses 2 Bars- Alches For 15,360 - 1 Bar Costs 7,680

    Long Sword - Uses 2 Bars- Alches For 19,200 - 1 Bar Costs 9,600

    Full Helmet - Uses 2 Bars- Alches For 21,120 - 1 Bar Costs 10,560

    Square Shield - Uses 2 Bars- Alches For 23,040 - 1 Bar Costs 11,520

    Warhammer - Uses 3 Bars- Alches For 24,900 - 1 Bar Costs 8,300

    Battleaxe - Uses 3 Bars- Alches For 24,960 - 1 Bar Costs 8,320

    Chain - Uses 3 Bars- Alches For 30,000 - 1 Bar Costs 10,000

    Kiteshield - Uses 3 Bars- Alches For 32,640 - 1 Bar Costs 10,880

    2 Hander - Uses 3 Bars- Alches For 38,400 - 1 Bar Costs 12,800

    Platelegs/Plateskirt - Uses 3 Bars- Alches For 38,400 - 1 Bar Costs 12,800

    Platebody - Uses 5 Bars - Alches For 39,000 - 1 Bar Costs 7,800

So the best item to make from Rune Bars is a Rune Legs/Skirt or 2h by a long way.

I could see this becomeing a very decent guide once finished.

just hurry because mods like to lock some unfinished guides :-$

keep up the good work!

Oh my god! I posted in the wrong topic! Ignore this post. :wall:

Similar ratios occur for most other metals, except that in anything other than rune, platebodies offer the highest return per bar.

The other factor, is that for lower metals, the price of a nature rune becomes more significant, making steel platebodies or Mithril 2 handers and above, the only really good alch items.

Does the order of the costs/bar stay the same for other types of bars too?

If so, then it's time to go smith some steel/mith pl8 legs ::'

LOL!!

Decent guide... Its sorta confusing though.

I have all the 99s, and have been playing since 2001. Comped 4/30/15

My Araxxi Kills: 459::Araxxi Drops(KC):

Araxxi Hilts: 4x Eye (14/126/149/459), Web - (100) Fang (193)

Araxxi Legs Completed: 5 ---Top (69/206/234/292/361), Middle (163/176/278/343/395), Bottom (135/256/350/359/397)
Boss Pets: Supreme - 848 KC

If you play Xbox One - Add me! GT: Urtehnoes - Currently on a Destiny binge

you need to include the cost of natures. that 300-320 gp makes a big difference.

Ok, seems good start, but finish guide from steel to runite, and i'll rate it, ok?

I don't get why the cost of the bars keeps going up. This reallys annoys me to find out why.

Pays, rather than costs, I would suggesst.

In all metals, the short sword does very well in value per bar, but the large numbers made (1 for each bar) and the low unit price for any below Adamant makes them weak for store trading or alching.

In all metals other than Rune, Platebodies generate the highest value per bar and condense that into the fewest number of items.

In metals other than Rune, 2 handers or legs / skirts are the next best thing to platebodies.

Also take in account:

Iron knives have a higher market value

Cannonballs have a higher market value

Arrowtips have a higher market value (completing arrows)

Steel knives have a higher market value

A lot of rune items have a higher market value

Steel plates also have a market value (about 900-1000ea?)

Just a few things to keep in your mind.. :) It is not always the alching amount that counts.

  • 3 weeks later...

this is the smithing tables on the tip.it site, all u did was divide the alch price by the number of bars needed, i could do that in my head..
