any1 know the best crafting method, be it f2p or p2p?

-kill my own green drags(im lvl 90), sell drops, house bury bones later, then craft?alch my own green dhide bodies?

 

-pick/spin my own flax in seers

well i was always thinking this when i was doing the first few levels of crafting. if you have a REALLY good friend then you can have either you or your friend kill the cows and then you or your friend make bank runs to and from the cows. but usualy friends arent that kool.

 

 

 

as for p2p... ummm no clue because the only way you can get jades opals and that other gem that i cant think of is by mining them from the gem roks and thats after shilo village and i dont remember if you need a crafting level for that quest..... :-k

and u got 62 crafting like that? :shock: i hope u know the crafting guild has a MUCH more conveniet tannery \

not the fastest crafting xp but great to make money, is making water battlestaffs and alching them

 

 

 

seaweed+range=soda ash

 

 

 

sand+soda ash+furnace= molten glass

 

 

 

molten glass+glassblowing pipe= unpowered orb

 

 

 

charge water orb spell+unpowered orb+water obelisk (at the end of taverly dungeon climb a ladder and you end up near catherby in an island)

 

= water orb

 

 

 

battlestaff (buy in mage guild or in varrock)+water orb= water battlestaff

 

 

 

water battlestaff+high alch= 9.2k!

If you use the battlestave method, air battlestaves are a bit easier to make.

 

 

 

One of the best ways to train crafting P2P, is making dragonhide bodies or vamps and alching them.

Personally I went from 72-80 using good old fashioned cowhides. Bought for roughly 100-150 ea. Hate to think what I spent on them.

 

 

 

But I have 30k Coifs that looks good in the bank :D

Yes it is. However, soft leathers don't give any alch exp as opposed to when you alch the green bodies. For your purposes, I would say coifs are the way to go as hides can be bought for 100 ea or so on f2p and tanned rather quickly... they weigh a TON less than dhides... Or you could buy them 200 each as leathers (I never did this myself, but would suggest it.)

 

 

 

Don't forget that buying green dhides in bulk is hard to do in non-world 2 worlds... usually it's 1.55- 1.6 or so for bulk on forums.

 

 

 

That said - grats on leveling crafting!

seeing as how the hides are so expensive, would it be worht it to kill the green drags myself at lvl 90? im at 63 goin for 73, would that be just outrageous?

here is the fastest and cheapest way. (but not profitable and sometimes boring) Camp at the crafting guild making clay things. u have everything u need and the xp is very fast. and free.

Actually I find pottery to be slower than the other methods.

For absolute fastest XP...buy those pesky dragon hides and go sick .

 

 

 

And yes, you might want to kill em yourself (bonus prayer is nice too)

These are the three main ways i've worked on Crafting, and Whilst spinning flax may not be the fastest XP there is, when I look at the 1000's of magic longs i've fletched and hi-alched and spun the bowstrings myself i certainly don't regret it. I figure by the time I do get to 99 fletching I will have made every bowstring myself...with no pain.

 

 

 

I don't exclusively do crafting, and I'd rather meander along making a little money along the way, than "churn" for levels aat a loss, but best of luck with whichever way (or ways) you choose to go

Try gems - especially if you like thieving or want to level it.

 

 

 

-Pick safes in Rogue's Den

 

-Make into ammy's or rings

 

-Alch the ammy's (not strs -- sell those in edgeville to pkers)

 

-Mine gold either in crafting guild (slow) or in several of the good gold mines around RS. (Keldagrim mine if you need 500+)

 

-Buy strings in ardougne or from other players. (try lunar ftw!)

 

 

 

This isn't the fastest or best way to level crafting, but it's something. Plus you get thieving, mining, magic, and craft exp this way.

 

 

 

I wouldn't suggest it for training, but you'll need dueling rings/rings of forging one day most likely. In your level range, gems and jewellry are still worth pursuing if you have em.

What I used were dragonhides the entire way. I'm not rich, and this only requires about 1M to get started, but of course more money is easier.

 

 

 

With green dragonhides, if you buy 1.55k gp each, it costs 1570 * 3 = 4710 gp per body. A body alchs for 4860, so if you make your own nature runes, you come out with a profit of 50 gp per body.

 

 

 

If you buy blue dragonhides for the same amount, you have about the same profit margin.

 

 

 

If you buy the nature runes, you lose about 250 gp each, but the magic experience makes the whole thing worth it.

lol just meant that money could get me more xp than with crafting, and crafting isnt one of the more commonly used skills so no1 really looks at it

i would just buy the flax and spin it, you get twice as much as the flax cost when you sell the bs, and its faster than picking it yourself
