Ranged Potions

For months and months on end, we've seen endless ranger after ranger complain about no good updates for range and how its underpowered. Well, my suggestion is a joint one for range and herblore.

The herblore part of it is simply making new potions through a seperate process. The ranged part is that you equip them and well..chuck em at things lol and they have a special effect depending on the potion.

The differnet process involves, besides getting the herb, you must get the aquire the secondary ingredient and enchant it in the place necessary. So it runs like this.

Another note, the effects, like crossbow effects are not 100% hits, and will occasionally occur.

Level 35: Ghast Brew

-Herb: Harralander

-Secondary: Filled Druid Pouch

-Place of Enchantment: Grotto place in mort myre lol..

-Ranged Level to equip: 48

-Effect: Rots one to two pieces of food in users inventory.

Level 39: Light Potion

-Herb: Harralander

-Secondary: Ground Unicorn Horn

-Location of enchant: Any Fairy in lost city

-Ranged Level to equip: 50

-Effect: Decreases accuracy of opponent by 15%

Level 48: Stun Potion

-Herb: Irit

-Secondary: Oak Roots

-Location of enchant: aubry in varrock

-Ranged Level to equip: 55

-Effect: Stuns opponent for 10 seconds.

Level 52: Barricade Summon Potion

-Herb: Irit

-Secondary: 10 sawdust (pick up at sawmill operator or use saw with plank)

-Location of enchant: Sawmill Operator

-Ranged Level to equip: 65

-Effect: Surrounds user in a ring of barricades. This does potion does not inflict damage, and its sucess is not 100%

Level 56: Shade Brew

-Herb: Avantoe

-Secondary: Asyn or higher remains

-Location of enchant: Use on holy fire altar

-Ranged Level to equip: 70

-Effect: Decreases run energy by 50% and Decreases attack by 20%, also makes one random item in the inventory unusable.

Level 67: Dragonfire Potion

-Herb: Lantadyme

-Secondary: Black Dragonhide

-Location of enchant: Wise Old Man

-Ranged Level to equip: 70

-Effect: Hits up to 20% of max hit with range, if antidragon fire shield is equipped though, all attacks are 0.

Level 75: Moonclan Serum

-Herb:

-Secondary: Suqah Hide

-Location of enchant: (moonclan person near the astral altar..forget name :P)

-Ranged Level to equip: 83

-Effect: This Potion cannot damage. This potion can only 100% cure all stat problems, and can be used on people in the wilderness or not.

Level 79: Explosive Potion

-Herb: Cadatine

-Secondary: Nitroglycerin (pickpocket from digsite administrator, lvl 76 Thieving)

-Location of enchant: None

-Ranged Level to equip:

-Secondary: Mushroom Spore

-Location of enchant: Use on a zygomite

-Ranged Level to equip: 75

-Effect: Super Poisons the recipient and leeches their special attack every 3 minutes for 12 minutes

Level 89: Fremennik Brew

-Herb: Torstol

-Secondary: Beer

-Location of enchant: Peer The seer for 4000 each

-Ranged Level to equip: 83

-Effect: Decreases the mage of recipient and increases ranged by the amount of levels lost

Level 94: Chaos Oil

-Herb: Toadflax, Snapdragon and Torstol

This is just a rough draft, and things are probably missing. But for now, this is what i got.

I would expect liquid explosives to have a tendency to explode at the slightest movement, meaning it would probably go off the moment you fall over and get hit or something... but why not?

Why do you resist? My experiments are only helping humanity push the boundaries of the Art of Toxicology... you should be proud to be one of my victims.

i don't really like the idea, this would make ranged totally over powered... think of it...

oops i threw 10 ghast brews on you and now you don't have any food left... well DIE!!!!

maybe a little less over powered then it would be a great idea

I like it, except the last one. Seems a bit overpowered. Chaos elemental is easy to kill with a team. Perhaps these should be untradeable?

I was expecting a super ranged potion. :)

How exactly can one grind steel cannonballs and planks? I love the explosive potion.

The code in my sig should say 1032 not 0132.

Seems like a good suggestion to me(Mainly because i'm range addict :-w ), but add the chances of doing the effect or make them nonstackable but with 100% chances.

Also, what would the speed of these pots be?

One last thing, how would that cannon brew work? Because if i'm not wrong every pot will cost at least 27k (cannonballs+ranarr) for the same effect chins have.

most of them are overpowered

um, most of these are just about the same as the crossbow effects...they DON"T ALWAYS WORK!!!

:?

anyway, i'm thinking about cutting out the cannon brew, it seems unnecessary.

Wow..you must've spend a lot of time in this. And I totally support, the chaos oil, I love the name and it's another high potion for herblore. :D

The planks can be get at the sawmill, there's heaps of useless plank dust.

But I am not sure about the c-balls

Just two things to this...

1) Doesn't 100 cannonballs seem a little excessive for 1 potion? Maybe 3 would be more appropriate, considering the effort required.

2) The person at the Astral Altar is the Oneriomancer.

don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?

Well. As you can see, most of these items are only good for the wilderness, right? Who do you know takes a crystal bow to the wildy? No one really.

As to your point about range and pots seem like mage, herblore is the making of potions. That's not mage. Range is throwing things.

You're chucking glass vials of dangerous liquids at folks. it's range  .

could this be Hexen inspired? i personally think so...

This may over power range a bit, but...throw in some magic updates, a crystal halberd, and i think we have a winner :)

Hexen? (what's that  ?)

Meh, i just liked the idea of chucking glass vials with nasty stuff in em.

lol.

Considering the circumstances, this would even things out more than if we added other stuff...Mages have ice spells, warriors dds + whip, combined is a force to be reckoned with. Rangers in the wilderness have a bow w/ some rune arrows. It's not terrific. Again, these effects aren't gaurenteed, they're similar to the crossbow bolts, except faster and you don't wield a crossbow.
