Well I realise that this game has been mentioned and interlocked within alot of other topics but I thought one should be made specifically to the game.

 

 

 

Alot of people seem to play the game, I trust people have played it online before I was wondering if I am right in this assumption we could have a few games with eachother. Maybe like a tournament of somesorts, that could prove fun.

Indy I used to think I sucked at it to, then I played one of my friends and found out he sucked even more than me, so its all good lol

My junior year of high school consisted of two periods a day playing the game against the other kids in the class, I usually came in third (of eight) so I guess I didn't completely suck.

 

 

 

But then I played on the internet a few times against random people and I was completely owned every single time. I don't even know how what they did was possible, the amount of units so quickly :shock: .

Well I guess it depends on who you face, I'm pretty evenly matched against my friends however some people on the Internet are crazy. They play it alot and have a set routine and pattern. One of my friends is like that he knows all the 'hot keys' and benefits for all the individual civs off by heart. Saying that he still gets pwned regularly, well I'm not one of those people so you are in luck \

of the about 20 people who play it in my school, I rank no. 3... maybe 2, haven't fought the guy who says he's number one yet.

 

 

 

I'm classified as a rusher. Huskarls when I rush, longbows when I want to take it nice and slow, but I normally play random.

 

 

 

Know any good maps for it on the internet?

man I hate being rushed, its a good tactic but I prefer to see my empire grow and then get destroyed, not having my small settlement wiped off the face of the map :x

 

 

 

there are some good maps on the internet, Europe (custom made) which has a lot of resources on, basically encouraging a huge war. Also land nomad is somtimes fun \, they are pretty popular online, also the custom scenario's like castle blood and all the other bloods, if you've played online you have probably heard of them.

I hate rushes. So much to the point that I switched my game play to defence [bleep] just to screw them over.

Wow misterxman, those maps look awesome, yeah I used to play on the zone alot to but there are still some pretty good sites you can play on like the one I mentioned. But you put alot of effort into those maps I see.

 

 

 

Rushes do suck , maybe if we had a game we could ban them :-w

Classic noob mistake. You never elimiate your source of income.

I usually aim for over 100 villagers throughout the game :)

I read some strategies that say you should get 100-110 villagers as soon as possible, then start killing them off when you need space. Not supposed to drop bellow 30-40 or something. Of course all that is when the population limit is 200, if it's lower the amounts are also lower.

Best strategy to do is build everything compact and then do layers of long walls. :P

I've played that game endlessly. Surprising historical accuracy too (campains). Chinese ftw. Bolt racks anyone? I just abused that unit too much. Never did any multi-player.

 

 

 

I've moved on to AoE3 now, which is lots and lots of fun
