House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer

Its really mind expanding fiction, showing what life would be like for a clone.

Also, Double Helix (forgot author). Its quite an interesting book about the subject of in vitro fertilization, etc.

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

Apparently a lot of people say it. I own.

Dune by Frank Herbert.

The Dark Tower series by Stephen King.

I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

I've been thinking about reading Dune. I saw part of the movie and I figured the book would be much better.

The "His Dark Materials" or whatever it was called by Phillip Pullman are good books.

^Listen to this guy. (Though I'd sub in "absolutely fantastic" instead of "good")

Also I'd suggest:

Good Omens-By Terry Pratchett(Not sure on the spelling) and Neil Gaiman

Thud-By Terry Pratchett

Reaper Man-By Terry Pratchett

^All very humorous fantasy books.

Crocodile hunter-Rest in Peace

The Worthing Saga - Orson Scott Card

My favorite science fiction novel.

Worthing is at the top of my list too.

The Circle Trilogy (Black, Red, and White) by Ted Dekker is also a great, challenging set of books.

Do you enjoy psychology books? That will always make you think and challenge the way you think.

Ken Follet is a GREAT author. he writes thrillers, that really make you keep reading till 4 o clock in the morning.

His best books in my opinion:

The pillars of the earth

a dangerous fortune

or you could also try the popular series. The Narnia series are written for too little children in my opinion, too simple stories, too short books. But you may like them.

Or i heard also that the eragon and atemis fowl series are good, didnt read them personally, but who knows
