warren211
House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer Its really mind expanding fiction, showing what life would be like for a clone. Also, Double Helix (forgot author). Its quite an interesting book about the subject of in vitro fertilization, etc. [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.[/hide]Apparently a lot of people say it. I own. http://linkagg.com/ Not my site, but a simple, budding site that links often unheard-of websites that are amazing for usefulness and fun. Icingdeath
Dune by Frank Herbert. The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.
Lovelydude
Arthur C. Clarke, Ursula LeGuin, Douglas Adams and Terry Prattchett novels are all a good place to start for fantasy books.

solgonsar
The "His Dark Materials" or whatever it was called by Phillip Pullman are good books. ^Listen to this guy. (Though I'd sub in "absolutely fantastic" instead of "good") Also I'd suggest: Good Omens-By Terry Pratchett(Not sure on the spelling) and Neil Gaiman Thud-By Terry Pratchett Reaper Man-By Terry Pratchett ^All very humorous fantasy books. Crocodile hunter-Rest in Peace"Theres NOT a country in the world that Bush would not get BOOO'd at ....even if Bush went to Antarctica the penguins would demonstrate."-Darknovae, NS Forum
Astralinre
The Worthing Saga - Orson Scott Card My favorite science fiction novel. Worthing is at the top of my list too. The Circle Trilogy (Black, Red, and White) by Ted Dekker is also a great, challenging set of books. "In so far as I am Man I am the chief of creatures. In so far as I am a man I am the chief of sinners." - G.K. Chesterton
Maleficus1055
For a Greek Mythology adventure book try The Lightning Thief and its sequel The Sea of Monsters. Another good fantasy is The Looking Glass Wars. My alltime favorite series is the edge chronicles. Tumblr. Follow me!
IGoddessI
Do you enjoy psychology books? That will always make you think and challenge the way you think. The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours. Abyssalwhip
Yeah Giver wasn't bad but do Playboys count as books? Your name is "bet you fail", and you're starting a business with your mom? I'm not even going to touch that.....

cjwarrior65
I suggest the "Wheel Of Time" series, by Robert Jordan. It is a long series, but my favorite of all time. It is a fantasy series, and has some political and religious themes, also. Give it a try! :o http://www.tor.com/jordan/ This is the link to the site about the series, take a look :D
LeonardMart
Ken Follet is a GREAT author. he writes thrillers, that really make you keep reading till 4 o clock in the morning. His best books in my opinion: The pillars of the earth a dangerous fortune or you could also try the popular series. The Narnia series are written for too little children in my opinion, too simple stories, too short books. But you may like them. Or i heard also that the eragon and atemis fowl series are good, didnt read them personally, but who knows Click my main sig to see my fakes :D Proud to be Mexican, yay!
