Bad class experiences?

As Calculus 1 is ending, I though I'd post a bit of my experience in here...

First of all, this is an online class.. so far all online classes I've taken have been good, but it seems this one was determined to be the exception. For the first 2 weeks of the class the instructor was on vacation and I made no headway at all since I needed to purchase some sort of special ID to access the Blackboard site for homework (there was another for the class :-s ) and I had no idea how to go about that and he really wasn't very responsive so when I got started on homework I was 2 weeks behind. I finally caught up this last week (yeah, took a whole semester) and I'm feeling strain again as I rush to complete the whole chapter on differential equations by friday (when the test for the chapter is). However, that's the least of my worries at this point as I have a final to schedule through a testing center! When I went to schedule the midterm the instructor "didn't" get my email about where I was going to take it and didn't send them the test so I had to wait two weeks :\

Oh, and the classes Blackboard site is horrendously slow. Think in the page every 5 minutes range. So I rarely get on it, but today when I did get on it I found out there was a project to do for this class, writing a 2 page summary about a report on physics, math, and biology. The real kicker is that the due date is December 8 and no one even knows if he's having us do this this semester at all or he just hasn't updated the due date which is probably closing in.

Thatisall:)

(Oh, and then there's my speech class group, but that was only a few weeks of panic)

Some bad class experiences at my school usually involve the use of rubbers, rulers, pens and bits of chair and desk as missiles thrown across the room when the teacher leaves. Its always funny until someone gets hit... :shame: And if they get hit with the chair its 100 times funnier

My Spanish II class is through Distance Learning, so I basically have an online Spanish class during the school day. We communicate with my teacher via a webcam and mic in the classroom. So it's like she's there, but she's not really. :P My Spanish I class was via Distance Learning as well, but we had a different teacher.

Anyway, this is my Spanish II teacher's first year teaching. She's NEVER ever there, and we always have busy work. The year is almost over and we have learned NO Spanish. She didn't teach us a damn thing because she was never there, and when she was, she wouldn't teach us words, she would just sit there and type on her computer and ask us about technical issues. Or she would make us play a game on the Internet. The book work that we had to do consisted of reading a question in Spanish and answering with a "Si" or "No". It was really the crappiest class I've ever had.

My geometry class is rediculous. My teacher is just a [bleep] (trust me, the majority of students hate her) and when I don't do an assignment I have to listen to her [bleep] about how it's my responsibility and not hers and on and on and on. All I said to her was I didn't get it done, and left it at that. Then she likes to turn extra credit assignments into homework, hand out a bunch of F's, then [bleep] about how we should have done it  There's no way I'm going to pass that class at this point, I'm just praying for a different teacher next year.

My Biology teacher (or rather teachers... a married couple teachs our class, they each take turns on quarters..) has a strange tendency of making us pray for the first ten minutes of class, and then blaming it on us when we don't have enough time to finish our labs <.< .

-.-

Eh, my other teachers are all pretty good, and my grades are fine in biology, so it's not too bad... just a ton of work.

Well, there is my Morality teacher, who's so boring that I pretty much sleep every day in that class... I'm in the front row, and I'm the only one who ever seems to sleep, but it's practically impossible for me to even keep my eyes open when one combines second period and a boring lecture on the Church's views on who-knows-what -.- .

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

My Algebra II teacher is like that. If ONE person in the class doesn't do their homework (granted, I usually do mine) we all get griped at.

My chemistry teacher, or teachers, are terrible. They all act as a hivemind consciousness, so that the three there are all do the exact same thing every day and assign the same homework. There's one that does her job quite well but has fallen victim to the others' system, but I don't have her. I have perhaps the worst possible one to have. Among the list of fun things that have been done to us:

Making extra credit homework at the last minute since "most" people did it

Putting stuff in the chapter "packet" that they hand out that they didn't teach us on the test

Scheduling a test make-up, not showing up that day because of a meeting they knew about, then telling me that I went past the threshold for making it up

Losing a lab that I did entirely in class and turned in same day (I pointed out that I was there that day and that I couldn't have possibly went to all that trouble then not turned it in, but I still had to re-do it on my own time)

Threatening somebody with disciplinary action for twirling a pen

Telling me she's "pissed off" by the fact that while we literally sit and wait for her to stubbornly check our assignments ONE AT A TIME ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS DURING CLASS TIME we play cards.

Refusing to adjust test grades on the spot when they're wrong, saying that if we're borderline at the end of the quarter they'll "consider it."

One of the most unprofessional, lazy people I've ever met in my entire life. And when a high schooler can call you unprofessional you know you're in trouble.

Our Tech Ed teacher is a creepy old perv. :-X I won't go into specifics, they might be deemed as "inappropriate" for this site, I'm not sure. Thank goodness I'm in eighth grade, and I'll be moving up to the highschool next year.

Ahh perv! A substitute teacher took us (the girls) for P.E once. He was going on about one girl's boobs. Saying that they would grow over her head. The girl had exceptionally large boobs, and she wasn't wearing very much.

Our old (I'm on about age here) lesbian P.E teacher once was very saggy and wearing a bikini. She also bent over. Twice. And the p.e lady approaches people in the changing room whilst they are half naked to "collect sponsor money." An excuse to check us out.

EDIT: The bleeps are not as bad as they sound.

My algebra teacher was like that and it worked out really well. Almost everyone always got their homework done and I don't think anyone failed the class.. I hope I have her next year if I somehow manage to move on to adv. algebra..

Well.. My history teacher gave us a [cabbage] test about the Americas, which was basically 40 questions where you choose Aztec, Incan, or Mayan. All of them were really specific, and they weren't even things we learned well. The best grade was an 80, and she won't freaking curve it.. Plus, we can only get 1/4 of the points that we lost back by fixing our mistakes.

My Algebra II teacher assigns us homework every single night. It's always a crapload too. And she decides at random when she's going to take a grade on said homework. #-o

Although I really like the guy, my biology teacher insists on teaching us the A level syllabus in depth after skimming over the GCSE stuff. I find it interesting, but sometimes think it's a little bit pointless.

My history teacher is also a bit old fashioned, he'll just make us take notes from a textbook then be in and out of the classroom all lesson. He's good when he properly teaches us though.

Apart from that my teachers are all great.

A kid farted in my History class a couple of weeks ago, and we all thought it was so gross, that the teacher demanded we leave the room until it cleared out. :P
