Barrow question

I just started doing barrows and i have some questions.

 

-Is this profitable or am i better off merchanting?

 

-Why do i lose prayer sponatniously? Ex. I have 21 prayer and jumps down to 11 all the sudden.

 

-If im using slayer dart, what armor should i use?

I'd wear your best prayer armor, not mystic. Even with full melee armor on you do good damage with mage spells.

But if you wear mage armor youl hit harder more often and be out quicker and since you lose so much prayer in barrow anyway theres not much point.

There's plenty point in wearing prayer bonus armor so you can pray longer against the brothers. Since the mage bonus is sooo low for them, you don't even notice a difference.

If you can, proselyte or initiate (proselyte is better than initaite), if you can't than I'd just take rune armor, and any 1 click tele you can use.

Mystic does absolutely nothing in barrows, you may was well go naked and achieve the same effects. Mage Bonus only makes the spells more accurate, not hit harder (thats the spell's damage, which attack bonus has nothing to do with), which barrow brothers (bar Ahrim, but including Karil) have a horrible mage defence, so you are increasing an already very high chance of hitting. Prayer gear such as monk robes or proselyte is good, but just try not to let your mage bonus fall below -15 (depending on your mage level, but a good estimate)

Is this profitable or am i better off merchanting?: Barrows is very profitable, it may be your free ticket to rares, or dumping your money for nothing. The odds of getting a barrow item is unknown, it happens, and it doesn't, just the way it is.

I have 21 prayer and jumps down to 11 all the sudden. : After you defeat your 1st barrow brother in a trip, the next time you go into a next crypt, after time, a pink face of a barrow will appear. It makes your prayer decrease by 10 prayer points. It makes it more challenging.

 

 

 

-If im using slayer dart, what armor should i use? : Full veracs is the best way, because of the tremendous prayer bonus. If you want to take a chance, you can be down there forever with noted p pots, money, full veracs, 10k+ slayer darts, and full guthan for healing. Hope I've helped :

I prefer using guthans armor while i mage since i can just heal on the monsters in the tunnels, but any barrows armor works well. At my level, I can mage all the melee brothers as well as karil, even in full guthan. Prayer bonus is useless in my opinion since the extra drain on your prayer is unaffected by pray bonus. Plus i only pray on dharok, karil and sometimes verac. The others rarely hit me, even at my level, and i'm a lower level than you!
